Whoa, cool! I enjoy reading stories like that. I also think the outfit is goofy. It looks like the medals are pinned to bare skin, and that he's wearing a porcupine on his head.
Even though his costume as 'Blackamoor' moor is 'political incorrect', I had a good laugh. But what should be 'mistake of lyrics' of which Uwe Peper has been accused by 'mouthmouse'? He speaks an accent-free high German and is name 'Uwe' indicates that he is 'bio-German' by birth.
Are you speaking of the line where he sings "Sollt es dich zu sehr verdriessen" instead of "Sollt es dich zu seh'n verdriessen"? There are a couple of variants apparently, and this is one of them.

I don't think the coulour of the skin is a kind of racism! When it was writen, every wind instrument and white people represented sky and nice people! At the opposite, black people and percussion reprensented the land and bad people! So he's sad that him ( a bad man) coud be in love of a nice woman!
That is not how the moors lookled at that time.. They had ruled europe for about 1000 years till they all started going into slavery and back to Africa.. The hidden historical context to these things is important to understand how powerful this piece ist.. but sure bad is black.. whyt pawa
@@Philipp.of.Swabia Are you confused? That is the point! Racists don‘t think to themselves "Racism is bad, let‘s try that today." but the issue is exactly them naturally being racist without realizing their flaw. Society back then was obviously very racist and also this opera has such elements.
@@Philipp.of.Swabia Incorrect. Though it is problematic and I am fine when conductors change the staging, the text (which is of course racist) should still be preserved as it custom to do so. Instead there should be a public announcement or a historical explanation in the opera flyer for everyone to realize and parents to discuss it with their children.
@yasgi Keep your fashionable racial topics out of the classics. This has nothing to do with racism, and the politically correct loons who see it everywhere and feel the need to censure Mozart are a worse bane upon civilized society than racism itself.
Bla, bla, f*cking bla. This has nothing to do with destroying a classic. It's just common courtesy to hire an actual person of the ethnicity of the role they're playing. If anything this improves upon a classic, because of authenticity. Jesus, your argument is ridiculous! Have you seen any modern renditions of the magic flute? With concrete and robots and sci-fi sh*t? THAT'S f*cking up a classic, not hiring an actual black person to play the black character. Or do you see black people being played by white people in movies? Didn't think so...
Ebbelboiz as long the content isn’t censored in any way shape or form, having an actual black artist for that role would be the prime choice of course. Unfortunately the trouble is: there aren’t that many black tenors for hire. So where no black artist is available, paint will do, just like it has been done in 1791: Joseph Nouseul was appointed for that role.
How's an opera with a bad moralist plot being 'erased' (that's to say, merely adpated in modern productions) worse than racism? You reactionaries are laughable
This guy was our direct neighbor in an apartment building. Lots of scales and lots of fighting.
Wdym?
Very cleared pronunciation, beautiful voice I LOVE IT! My favorite version!
@FoxyGrandpa: Haha! Awesome thanks for the upload, this is my grandfather! He didn't like the outfit very much... :)

0:44 he's nearly cute!

i love his accent
♥♥♥♥♥ famózna interpretácia
I think Gioacchino Rossini was greatly inspired by this aria to compose his "Largo al factotum", from the opera "Il Barbiere di Siviglia".
Thé best !
in spite of a mistake of lyrics, it's my favorite version!

@witness124 Mozart did not write the story, libretto, or design the costumes...
Ok, the music is recorded right? He is not singing it live
Of course he is signing live. That’s the entire point of opera
@@astra1360 he is a damn good singer then, cause i thought this was recorded.
yes he says "Bin ich nicht aus Fleisch und Blut"
I hear him singing "von Fleisch und Blut"
He does not say "Bin ich auch die Mädchen gut", he says "Bin ich nicht von Fleisch und Blut?"
Yes an apparent change, politically more correct, with perhaps an allusion to Shylock's speech from The Merchant of Venice.
funny how the libretto specifies a black man plays this role
