@autorepairguys hey 👋 I took my car to 3 different mechanics and heard all different things about how to expenaive would be to fix my gear could engaged problem on my 2006 525i bmw. One quoted 8,313 dollars for water pump, ignition coils, spark plugs, crankcase vent, transmission assembly used, power steering pump and thermostat 🥲 my question is, is there any way I can begin to work on things that will keep the car going without having to make all those replacements they said it needs ? Like could there be error codes produced by bad sensors or things like that ? 8 thousand or 6 thousand to fix a 2006 car seems to me a bit to much, how does that even make sense ?
If your reservoir leaks, replace it. It only costs 12€. If your cap is missing the o-ring and it's no good anymore, replace it. It costs 5€. Thank me for fixing your leak problems. 👍🏼
You didnt fix shit :) it still leaks a week after replacing it
@@justarandomguy3969 😅🤣🤣🤣 Funny as Fk. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Make sure you use the right fluid, don't over fill it, get the clamps and cap nice and tight and clean your mess.
Try again. ✌🏽
@@sundayking6870 did all of that, didnt fix anything. I saw someone mention replacing the hoses might work, so i will try that since they are probably old
@@sundayking6870 get the clamps nice and tight? They are constant tension clamps, genius. You can't get them any more or less tight than they were manufactured to get. 🤦
@@allmycarsisbrokewhen you replace the reservoir you use new clamps. Dont call people idiots when it is in fact yourself, who is the idiot…
Mine looked like that, too. I replaced the o ring and it stays clean ever since then.
Same here.
What the o ring
@@yalnizer2745 part number is usually 32410141428 or 32411128333
What o ring?
I replaced the O-ring and it leaks again.
Thanks. I’ve actually wondered about this question many times!
I like this channel. Been saving lots of money on my E38.
great advice! ur the only guy who knows stuff
Thanks for this video always wondering why the cover is messy
Same here. I never noticed the hole in the cap.
Thank you! now I know why mine looks dirty as well
My 09 bmw 650i leaks everywhere, seems like after I repair a hose I have a new leak somewhere else soon thereafter. 😢
Thanks for always bringing us knowledge
What type of transmission fluid do I need? I have some already that I purchased for my 2005 X5 3.0i. can I use this in a 2009 750i?
so, there is a stupid vent hole and leaking is "normal".
If the filter is clogged, fluid would fill up the reservoir, giving u more leak.
Wrong type or old fluid might give you foam, causing the leak.
Too much fluid would also give u more leak.
Need to flush out all old/wrong fluid. Need to remove the filter screen to clean. Need to use the right type of fluid. Need to fill to the right / minimum level. Need to replace or flip over the o-ring gasket.
BMW engineers, u guys suck.
Thanks Auto Repair Guys for making this video.
So the overflow hole is where the power steering fluid comes out when there is too much pressure? That means it will shoot oil everywhere...
I believe the power steering fluid that BMW recommends is a flaw. I owned a 2005 BMW x3 and it takes ATF fluid and it doesn't leak . My other 2010 BMW x3 that my wife drives takes CHF and it's always leaking.
Interesting. Have you tried ATF in the 2010?
would have been nice if you showed what the levels were on the fluid cap...
The reservoir was empty. He showed that at 2:25.
i chked my car by scaner....maf reading was good short fuel trims was well within range going +3 to -3
But long fuel trim varied but was in the positve range only....
I changed my fuel pump yesterday also i have my injectors serviced.....is it ok or what should i do...
I know this was at least a year ago, but check for small vacuum leaks.
If it says ATF ONLY. what power steering brand i should use?
Usually "European" flavor
hose debris clogging the screen in the reservoir will cause overflow out the vent.
Mines so bad my alternator is taking a shit
yup had to degrease and power wash that entire area. don't be afraid to hose down your alternator. just follow it up with maf cleaner or electrical contact cleaner. doing that raised my idle voltage from 13.7v to 14.0v 😅
Slow down you talk to fast
All I got from that is there is an overflow hole in the cap. I could not understand anything else. I'm sure you are very knowledgeable but please speak slower so we can understand you.
turn on close captions😊
You can also slow the speed of the video
@blazingaura18 No, you can't!
@@wernerdanler2742 definitely can, playback speed is your friend
Okay 👌 okay
