@@atrocioustcgit was the right play for him not to use his teach to swing into it early game. He was supposed to use leader swing into it. On his 3 don into it. The doffy needs the teach to stick around so he can keep doing a 7k swing for free. His main miss plays where not ever abusing a double body turn from hand and just trying to blind flip constantly. The doffy should have won this match if on ten don just play jozu jinbe and keeping sengoku in hand. He also had other turns earlier to do double body from hand.
@@cake4pigs That's a good point, I'd love to run this back & see how the gameplan and match evolves with swinging leader at it in mind, I feel like none of the games we watch people go for the Doc Q
@@cake4pigs You are absolutely right. And he throwing 3 cards to defend Law was very dumb as well. Instantly lost the game there by allowing Teach to KO his characters by simply attaching don to leader.
@@atrocioustcg it’s cause they are afraid of giving BB cards but in reality doffy will always have more cards because of BB leader effect which is why doffy is generally favored 60-40. @@mFwafflez Not exactly. Right now some English version gold don are a lot cheaper than Japan version gold don. Some people just don't know the values of those cards and sold with very low prices. LOL
OP10 is both adding to BB and adding to counters against it so can't wait to see how that pans out. Main weakness of BB is if they go for board and starve you out while also going wide vs big. BB only plays 1 body per turn for most of its plays. That's why against Doffy you use leader ability every round. Having to answer 2 bodies every round is really hard for BB.
The 10c teach effect nullifies Doffy’s leader effect throughout the rest of that turn, so it’s only on BB’s turn because Doffy regains it on Doffy’s turn! I mixed that up in a previous video it’s a lot to remember LOL
Again Doffy not attacking into board at all and just running face giving them huge hand advantage. JP players really just play aggro with no a thought in their head.
i don't know if I'd say that exactly. We've had several people say that in the MU you continuously go face, but the BB really had a lot going for him on the removal side in the game to minimize swings
@atrocioustcg Yea I get that but idk maybe it's the control player in me so going face staring at a board that just removes mine makes me feel like im playing wrong. Even when I play doffy I don't play like this. I just like playing control over playing aggro.
At 8:20 his sequencing was wrong I think, if he played the Mihawk first he could use teach ability to use rested don AND the other 3 don, done the exact same thing but swing for 9 not 7
I feel like he moreso did the way he did to play around potential triggers. He wanted any trigger to focus on Weevil instead of an active character, because KOing an active is tougher than a rested for teach. Not saying what he did is correct (idk the right line), but I don’t think it’s black & white
Just as a small feedback, I'd personally be interested to know who chose to go first/second, if it is possible, would be nice to mention that aswell, great commentary!
something seems off, every time weve seen teach i feel like the opponents are throwing. Not controlling the board vs teach like removing those annoying ko'ing/minus effecting cards.. I'm sorry but its stupid not to remove them. Specially doffy is mostly 4 cost cards. What are these players thinking!
A lot of players I’ve talked to say to primarily go at face, but I haven’t tested that. I also think the BB matches vs doffy we’ve seen have some pretty ideal hands & draws for BB
Funny thing no one mentioned and that the judges completely missed: Teach gives your character or leader RESTED DON. At 8:06 there were no legal DON to attach. That was an illegal play.
actually wait, I thought more & talked to someone about it. They used Teach effect to stack the deck but in the "up to two rested don", just decided to put 0 rested don on, then attached active to lead. Nothing illegal, just looks funky in the sequence of actions LOL
@@atrocioustcg You might be right, but it looked funky. I guess that he did have a full stack of don to use, so there was no illegal play. It looked so weird though. GGs on the commentary though!
Each card has a counter value currently 1k/2k, some cards do not have any counter on them. You have to be wise when to use them because they go to thrash and sometimes they are cards you need to play down. If you counter out too much your hand size runs low and it’s a bad spot to be in.
To go along with the previous comments, a card that has counter is located on the left side of the card! It’s the small “Counter +xxxx” number along the side.
Thanks for that guys! Sorry I think I wrote question wrong. I was referring to the red counters like blast breath in purple. Would I still need to pay one don or would it be a free cast
@@shanehorton4022 oh gotcha!! So the red counter cards do require you to pay don, as specified in the top left corner of the card! For the red counter cards, you just can only play them on the defense.
I do agree that the support line of the deck synergies super well. But I think the set needed to have good support because he can’t use on play. That OP10 Kuzan though extremely unnecessary

Nope, black yellow hasn’t really performed in top cut :/
Black yellow has a terrible match up into teach it’s pretty unwinable if the Blackbeard knows what they are doing
