Nicola Armellin try romanian old school rap.. just a suggestion
When you don’t understand the language, lyrics become like, another instrument, don’t they .... (?)
Just like when i listen to rammstein, and here. when not understood, language itself becomes art...
Agreed but still I can't listen songs of hiphop I like without looking for the lyrics if I don't understand the tongue ^^' such treasures of prose lay there almost forgotten.
To me lyrics is already a instrument, I rarely pay attention to the meaning of words, I mostly see them as a musical way to flow with the beat.
Even when you don't understand the language you can hear the words that rhyme. HIP-HOP is BLACK!!!!!!
@@blackmanta777 well, if it doesn't rhyme it isn't rap my friend, and I kinda disagree that its black, various artist from distints ethnias are amazing.
The image is from the French movie 'La haine'. A masterpiece I would definitely recommend anyone watch. With subtitles for the best experience that is, if you do not speak french.
Le plus important ces l’atterrissage !!!
so far so good......
Yes
Best non-English movie of all time
It's my favorite Vincent Cassel movie
France's Underground scene captured a special moment in 90's Hip Hop and made it their own. Their representation is musically colourful, and projecting personality. No hype. Just real. Love. Very authentic sound.
90s everywhere were amazing ...
@@vlakx warum können deutsche einfach nicht zugeben, dass franzosen besser sind im hiphop? Oder hast du Deutsche Raper gesehen, die feature mit Wutang clan, Nas usw gemacht haben?
sonst alles gut bei dir ?
@@wowo9880 im not saying that USA was not top ... I grew up on Rocksteady Crew, Sir Mix a lot, Dondi , Seen etc... just sayin that in 90s HIP HOP culture exploded in many countries ... many unknown rapers, graffiti writers, djs and bboys crews they are forgotten from many states
@@radieschen420 it's stupid. And Japanese rap was much better than French one so effing what?
This genre is same in every single language. Perfect. You don't have to speak the language, if you speak the beat!
you wrong Frère , because this is all about district
and thats on god 🙌🏾
ye same shit in every single language😆
Couldn’t of said it any better myself
It doesnt matter which language you hear in song, you feel this with your heart, the style, the flow, then you understand all. My deepest respect to French rap school.

French hiphip between 93' and 96' was on a high level,
Having a lyrical heritage derived from writers like Victor Hugo or popular music like Jaques Brel, many French rappers in the 90's attained perfection in the writing !

I had no idea the French were cranking out jams like this in the 90s . Real music lives forever
Right? We didn't have the bandwidth to be peepin' songs like these!
If you want some French hip hop mixes to listen to, I suggest you look up DJ Poska. Some of his mixes contain English tracks you might know but every now and then, he'll add in some French tracks.

French hip hop is so relaxing and smooth 😌
This might come from the lack of tonic accent in french. Therefore you can put it wherever you want, accentuate words as you feel. This is also partly why french struggle so hard at talking foreign language.
Used to now it's trash.
Tell Lord Jamar that. He thinks he owns hip hop
Not always... ruclips.net/video/tCWVT3AaZJY/видео.html
@@pierrebe4492 In most latin based languages (Spanish, Portuguese and Italian) there is no tonic accent. Now some italians add a lot of emphasis but it's just a way of speaking, not that their language is officially demanding that.

Merci!
As a frenchmen I thank you for bringing me back to this golden era. Peace
mid-90s underground rap is the greatest sub-genre in the history of music
French hip hop is underrated for sure. I live like 500m from the french border, so I had a lot of french homies back in the days. They introduced me into the french scene back then, and loved it from the first minute I heard it. ALSO... Props for using an image from the movie 'La Haine', one of my favo movies of all time, it's a masterpiece.
Je ne lis pas les commentaires mais ça fait plaisir de lire que le rap français engendre autant de bons retours.. 🙏🖤

I always was impressed how good French rap sounds. I can't understand a thing but I keep banging my head to it. Good Job @Nicola Armelin.
This is what threw me down the wonderful rabbit hole of french rap. From this over to Oxmo Puccino, Rocca, more M-Group, MCs En Faktion and so much more. I have been in love with French rap ever since I first listened to this in 2020.
IAM, Lunatic, MC Solaar (90s and early tracks only)

I am glad I grew up in France during the 90’s, best hip-hop in my opinion. US and french rap of course were the best in the 90’s. Lyrics sound more intelligent and intelligible. If you know what I mean.

Le rap et le hip hop avaient des choses à dire à cette époque...
@@lucamotta6227 France is the second largest Hip-Hop market in the world after the US.
@@lucamotta6227 Could you recommand some good old-fashioned italian hip hop ? I only know Uomini di Mare :)
@@unpseudoyoutube2781 Yes, i recommand you some: for the start the "Golden Age of Italian hip hop" Is considered from 1992 with the first Italian rapping of "speaker deemo" (with highly metric and a flow different from the posse) to early 2000.
First of all listen to "SxM" of "Sangue misto" from Bologna that is a mileston for italian bboy, "i messaggeri della dopa" of Neffa (member of Sangue misto), "odio pieno" of "Colle der fomento" from Rome (Is more hardcore but a landmark for italian HH), "950" of beatmaker "frizt da cat" also this a master piece of italian HH, "41 parallelo" of "La famiglia" from Napoli (they sing predominatly in Neapolitan), "dalla sede" of "OTR", Lou X of Abruzzo, Bassi Maestro and Chief & soci from Milano, Kaos Inoki and Joe Cassano from Bologna, atpc next diffusion gatekepaz from Torino, Turi and Dj Lugi from Calabria, Frankie hi NRG (quelli che ben pensano) and "stokka and madbuddy" from Sicily, "wessisla" of "Sr raza" from Sardegna (unique because unlike the peninsula that follow the East coast, the HH of the Island was more g-funk and west coast)
If you like "uomini di mare" listen "mr simpatia" of Fabri fibra
Là tu me réconcilie carrément avec le hip-hop français
