- Cold Started the car during our winter cold snap, if you look closely the oil pressure drops right after start up because of the cold oil, plug in your vehicles block heater when it gets this cold! It took about 10 minutes before the heater even started to blow warm air.
We put a larger battery and we havent had any starting issues or lighting issues. It was -40 degree wind chill last night. I told me wife many times to leave the fans off for a few minutes to allow the heater core to warm faster. I explained to her there is NO HEAT IN THE CORE to begin with anyways. This allows the core to get warmer faster and THEN you can run the fan. I HATE cold air blowing over me anyways.
Hence the difference between LED and LCD displays I think. Liquid crystals are frozen. Where as the stereo lights up right away.
This is exactly it
0:48 bullet proof boxer engines love Subaru!!
Car starts at 0:38.
Even in regular temperatures, does your suburu stay at at least 2k rpms or a lil higher when you initially start it? Seems like mine takes a at least 3 minutes to drop down to under 1k rpms and quite
In 90F weather, my 2020 Subaru will drop the rpm in about a minute. So I think it's basically just waiting for the engine and the catalytic converter to warm up to a certain temperature.
Mine does this too
Didn’t know that about the ac but makes sense 😂
When low temp, try use less power like, heated seats, vent, defrost etc. Untill you start engine
Cheers
Lucian Manuel that usually all turns off while the engine cranks.
Ah yes, it taps just like the older Subarus too.
love the boxer noise
Clean car nice 👍

Stay warm and stay safe!
Get a battery with higher cold cramping amps.
