      Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if most comedians had some thinking patterns similar to those with ADD. The brain's just going everywhere really quickly and they can think of connections that most people don't, but they don't wanna go home and read a book about it

    I was tested as a kid and was told I had ADD which is ADHD today. My parents refused the listen to the school who thought I needed to be on legal speed. I struggled through school, did horrible in high school but I got a scholarship to play D1 Football. I graduated college with a 3.6 because I tried finally and wanted to grad school eventually. I'm almost 34, married with 3 kids, and as an adult I was prescribed adderal. I know it's legal speed but it helps me a lot and I've focused a ton in my competitive profession.

    • @waynejohnson1786
      @waynejohnson1786 6 лет назад +15

      dandjedi It only has an effect similar to speed if you abuse it for recreational purposes.
      Drug addicts shoot up cocktails of HIV medication and anti-depressants to get an high similar to opiates, that doesn't mean its legal heroin for HIV patients and the depressed.
      You can't compare a drug addict abusing adderal to someone with ADHD using it to treat their illness, it may be an alternative to speed for me but its a medication for you because it actually helps you. The fact you have ADHD means you wouldn't even get the same recreational benefit from adderal

      What?

    • @Icecreamandradness
      @Icecreamandradness 3 года назад +3

      Please don't feel that you need to explain yourself when it comes to your treatment plan! Prescribed medication is more regulated than street drugs, and when taken as instructed it can change a person's life for the better :)
      I hope that one day, we treat those who take medication for mental conditions the way we treat those who take insulin or wear glasses - by understanding that they are being aided by their prescriptions, not weakened by them.

    Do you find what I find interesting boring? Do you not like sitting around and talking about stupid shit like me? Well then. You have ADHD.
    ADHD is a scam. Most people who are told they have ADHD have no problems focusing on things they enjoy or like. telling a 6 year old boy with a well of energy and a drive to investigate and explore there is something wrong with them because they don't want to sit and be quit and listen to uninteresting shit being said. Is wrong. Maybe we should run little girls for 9 hours straight. And when they complain about not having the energy to do so. We come up with some bullshit mental defect and tell them they have it.

    • @benh1026
      @benh1026 9 лет назад +1

      If you put it that way, than we could say that they only invented that condition to suppress the vitality of "trouble maker" kids who don't sit still like all the other little perfect kids. We are indoctrinated since a young age to follow blindly follow authority, making us all good oblivious members of society. That actually gave me a new way to see it, since I have ADHD.

    • @aba1design
      @aba1design 9 лет назад +1

      Well ya the whole point is that you have trouble controlling your attention. So things you enjoy are easy to put attention into but things you don't can be near impossible. As someone who has ADD I can tell you it is definitely a thing. I have had so many instances where I physically could not pay attention to things no matter how much I struggled.

    • @JRMCNEA
      @JRMCNEA 9 лет назад +3

      Eric Huntington
      You mistake inability to control your attention. With not wanting to. Claiming someone has ADHD because thye don't want to sit and read stupid shit out of a women's magizine. Does not mean you have ADHD. Not wanting to sit and listen to stupid people talk about stupid shit is not ADHD. Not wanting to sit behind someone who stood in the same line as you. Gets to the front. And forgets what they are supposed to be doing is not ADHD.
      It is tuning out the stupid as much as possible.
      Because we put warning labels on plastic bags. The stupid people are no longer killing themselves.
      And claiming they are for kids who can't read is stupid.

    • @D00MLOORD
      @D00MLOORD 9 лет назад +1

      JRMCNEA You reason as if you have experience or scientific knowledge. Would you mind sharing why your subjective opinion should matter, or should we trust you and apply the same logic to autism, OCD, dementia, Alzheimer, and hell why not kill of all the elders while we're at it. They're probably scamming us as well.
      Just get your shit together and stop being silly. You're no different from anybody else, and the notion that you can't function and have a normal life is just your excuse to score pills and live large, especially when you're on the streets, broke and eventually commit suicide or OD. As long as Darwin approves, right?
      I would encourage you to educate yourself on the subject, but I fear that you lack the ability to care for anyone who struggles with issues beyond your perception, so I'll finish with this.
      You and everyone who claims ADHD don't exist are inconsiderate, heartless and frankly just plain insulting to the people who everyday struggles and suffers from ADHD. Besides, why do you care if people get treatment? Are you scared, or do you hold some personal grudge against human disability?
      Either way, I pray that none of your loved ones falls ill, if what you claim actually is your honest opinion.

    • @JRMCNEA
      @JRMCNEA 9 лет назад +4

      Jungle Beef
      But that is the funny thing about it. I am not going around claiming every boy who can't sit still in class because the teachers aren't challenging them have ADHD. Because we all know 6 year olds should be able to sit down and listen to someone talk for hours on end without feeling the urge to ACTUALLY do something.
      Do you think that 1 in 3 kids have ADHD?

If you took ten 6yos to a doctor 8 would be "diagnosed"with ADHD and the rest APD. It's like prescribed lobotomies, children on these medicines behave like zombies.

    this was hilarious lol, Mia had no idea that he was going to bomb the test intentionally. I loved how many times he tried to interrupt her by something that an ADHD person would do. that way Mia would walk away thinking she proved some kind of point, since women constantly have the need to be validated lol

    We have more cases of ADHD now because most of the activities we engage in today are hardly similar to the hunter-gatherer experiences we have had for most of our existence as a species. From an evolutionary biology POV our brains have been accustomed for thousands of years to be in a hyper attentive state because we lived in an unpredictable world when our main objectives were to hunt and search for food, reproduce, fight and migrate. Now our objectives are about sitting still in a classroom, following the rules, sitting at a desk and working all day, worrying about money etc... It will be interesting to see how our brains and genetics will evolve in comparison to ourselves in a couple hundred years from now.

      That makes sense, people wi5h adhd or autism are probably more well adapted to the world of hunter gatherers than 'normies' who are better adapted to the dichotomy of today
