@@Zeratulmit Thanks for the info. I played L2 many times over but still didn't know about that. After some googling I've found out the said "best ending" was not actually implemented on the original Japanese MD L2 for whatever reason. The extra dialogues between Elwin and Liana you referenced is from a translated version of L2, which restored unused additional dialogues.
@ingram0451 Funnily, to achieve the best ending for Liana all you have to do is just make sure she doesn't get killed during all the battles and Elwin takes down more than 200 units in total. Which means Liana doesn't need to kill anything.

Finally! An ending that Liana didn't merry to the random prince, I almost gave up, thought this ending was just something I misremembered. Thanks!

how does elwin with 56/40 win when bernhardt has 70/45
Bernhardt only has 9 HP which caps out his damage at 9.
