The price of these guitars seems high. The price for a standard Player Tele or Strat is £599 or less, so a plus model should be £749. GuitarGuitar have been doing a special Player model for £799. The launch price for this Plus range is £900 so not far off the American made Performer range.

It is realistically the same as a USA Performer which makes no sense. I have played a few of these already and there is nothing special about them, the 12" radius is just plain weird. The point of MIM was always to be affordable but with the new sig models and these Plus series they are the same price as USA Performer and Pro 2 models...... Then I bought a US Built Fender that had the TexMex Pickups that I can't get enough of , Fender just stands out in the crowd , as soon as you start playing in the neck pickup position with a clean amp every Guitar player knows what guitar it is and what tone is being used. So yes these guitars I think personally are the best in the World.

I bought my player hss strat 2yrs ago for $600 new which was worth every penny as it's become my main gigging guitar.I think the jump to $999 in just 2yrs is pretty outrageous imho. The noiseless pickups, covered bridge humbucker, and different switching does not make it $400 better. For $999 I'd take a used U.S. made G&L Legacy over the player plus any day. Sorry to be a debbie-downer, but the inflation is ridiculous 🤦‍♂️

The player series hasn't gone up in price. This 'player plus' is replacing the Mexican deluxe series which is basically the same as this but with a contoured heel joint and and open core humbucker. I think they were around $800 and they had the s1 switching system that had similar functionality to the newer push pull pot.

I guess Fender finally heard about the very successful Epiphone´s inspired by Gibson and modern collections and decided to offer something alike, and I have to say they went the extra mile and offer features shared between "American" and Mexican models, and princing it accordingly, good for Fender
