friendlyelites I think they were more concerned with scattering to freedom than a few paltry brutes, still you saw some latch onto a few brutes as the pure forms wrestled them to the ground
If you look after you can still see a couple brutes fighting when the cutscene is about to end

The flood infected brutes look way more disturbing than the Halo 3 ones, and yes I do realise that this is cutscene compared to in game lol.
I don't know, the ones in halo 3 are probably are lot worse looking, The infection form was jammed inside its mouth.
RazgrizOne Fair point, but for me I think that the HW2 version is more so because of the build of the brute, plus in halo wars 2 the brute still had its armour on after being infected.
It's probably the games Teen rating holding it back from doing some really disturbing stuff, but compared to halo 5, at least this games pushing those boundaries a little further.

Just started playing halo wars 2. Gotta admit not having playable flood is a missed moneymaker. I would pay 20 bucks for the dlc if it had it otherwise nah ill just watch people play it. But what you said is so true.

I like how incase if they ever escaped they evolved into some kind of flood form that is just designed to strangle and hold any living thing down buying time for the other infection spores to infect it.
10 years of hype for seeing the Flood return. 10 freaking years, and they absolutely nailed it! Talk about exceeding expectations.

I would say that the Created, Elites and UNSC would team up to fight the flood but the Created are all AIs. The AIs, prometheans and guardians won't be effected by the halos. Makes you question if we're gonna have a three-way fight like in Halo 3 to stop the firing of a ring. UNSC, Elites and Banished vs Flood vs Created. Idk, there's alot of factors.

Consider me one of those douchebags. It's too childish. I wanted the flood back as much as anybody else, and I still think that some of the other cutscenes might impress me, but this one was just too babyish for me. Imagine if in Halo: CE in the famous flood introduction cutscene they had somersaulting brightly glowing creatures leaping around all over the place. Gay. The rest of the flood in the cinematic was pretty badass, but again the glowing creatures leaping all over the place made it difficult for me to fully enjoy it

Damn, brutes can be pretty badass when they need to be.
Not to mention that they held their ground surprisingly well against the flood. A few were left still fighting at the end of the cutscene, so they could have pushed the flood back for all we know.
One brute is about worth a Spartan at close range. Their strength and speed is just insane. Brute chieftains even more so.

Dave Vd I don't think that's actually a scarab it might be a flood transport form, from the way it looked there were spores on the back of it. So 343 could be using cut content from halo 2 like the transport form which carries up to 6 combat forms.

This cinematic alone really just shows how deadly the flood is, and this is just feral stage flood at best. Scary.
It's more than feral stage on account of the pure forms. There's probably a keymind or two in there considering that the flood have the biomass of all of high charity.

I'm actually kind of happy the flood has returned since their "extermination" in Halo 3 didn't make much sense to me.
The Halo ring is designed to annihilate anything its beam touches. However, Installation 04,2 was not ready for activation so it blew up. Even though it DID fire, It did NOT fire effectively! Therefore some flood survived!
MrRuner45 I knew that, I just was confused by Cortana saying she found a way to "destroy the flood" without firing the rings. I always thought that didn't make sense and people just seemed to give Bungie a pass on that given the continuity from Halo 1.

Mlg Playz Not entirely sure but I think in the most recent terminus firefight by the Devs I saw it. It seems to spawn loads of infection forms out of its mouth similar to the tank form from halo 3 but much more. I think it's based on a older concept for a flood pure form that ate their prey, turned it into biomass, then spewed out infection forms from that mass.

K'kes Teekon Hi I know the small ones called the infection forms and the combat form that the brutes had gotten infected were called but to be honest cause it's new to me I don't know what the others are called but I know about everything else before Halo wars 2 like how the Flood are actually was one being before they were the flood called a Primordial but they had died and sorta was a necromancy thing and had been brought back to life and are what they are today. P.S sorry if you are disappointed about a fellow Halo geek.😔

This was such a shocking return for me
1:03 idk if it’s just me or not but I really wanted to see the Banished’s spiker in Infinite. Like, really badly. Instead all of the base Banished Brutes have manglers that are basically pistols or plasma carbines that they hold like pistols. They need some form of spikeresque weapon that is bigger than a needler but nothing like a skewer. Just like the original spiker from Halo 3 and Reach.
That Clams Casino at the end tho!!!!
