- I picked up a Lectron from Brad at BeRad Products because I wanted to be able to answer the endless "what do you think about Lectrons" questions that I get! Well folks, here's your answer!
Check out Brad's store if you're interested in picking up one of these Lectrons for yourself! www.berad-prod...
Great, honest review. Subscribed. Do you stud your own tires for winter riding, and if so do you have a video on it?
Thanks!! I don't have a video. But I use Grip Studs. 1740 model up from and 1800 model on rear wheel. Around 150 studs per tire.
@@JasonHamborg fantastic. This may open up riding in the winter for me. Never heard of them or seen them till your vids. Looking to go from my RMX450Z to a 2023 YZ250X very soon.
Always happy to answer any questions you have 🙌
Great video man! Glad we could get you dialed in. Can’t wait to come ride out there 😎
We definitely need to set that up!
We need a video on your head light set up and it’s instal!
Did you get the new lectron? Did you get the tps wire ?
I do have the Billetron Pro. But don't have the TPS wire. Billetron is a big upgrade from the older model.
@@JasonHamborg mine will be here Wednesday. I keep fouling plugs on the stock jetting and with the jd jetting kit
I have a JD jet kit in my mikuni and its amazing. I think the principal of the lectron is good but for me its not necessary and my money can be spent elsewhere.
Great video Jason, keep up the good work!
Makes sense! As I said in the video, if you're not trying to solve an issue and you're happy with what you're running then it might not make sense!
Cool, interesting take. I’ve owned all three (including smart carb). After having ridden all three extensively, I’ve come to my own conclusion that I like the linear distribution of the lectron and smartcarb. That’s about it. Maybe fuel economy. I don’t think there’s any more power at all as they all claim. I also didn’t like the weaker idle compared to the keihin with a dedicated pilot jet.
I also found that if you switch the keihin to a Suzuki needle, the power delivery is much more smooth as well. So I don’t know. Maybe it’s not worth the cash to change the carb up when you can simply change a needle? To each their own. what I do know is there are lots of insufferable idiots online who have extremely strong opinions on all of them and it’s really a little old.
That being said, hit me up if you wanna try my smartcarb.
suzuki needle, #8 slide, 40 power jet is the golden ticket. just gotta drop main and pilot sizes some.
@@TroNPopz209 yeah I’ve heard of that too. Glad it’s working out for you!
My stock keihin was so rich that it fouled a plug every 2 hours of riding and it kind of sputtered getting on the gas. I decided I didn't want to mess with jetting much so I threw the Lectron on. Very happy with mine, but it took a decent bit of tuning to get it there. Had to adjust the float height too. Glad I bought the tool for the metering rod.
So you could have just spent that time tuning to jet instead and saved $500.
@@bryson_stafford I was just saying that I expected to be able to just throw it on the bike and have it run right since it was a new bike and I ordered it from Lectron directly. I'm still happy with it and glad I bought it, but it ended up taking more work than I wanted it to.
@@cadencramer2747 Yeah that understandable. I have a few friends that were less than impressed with the Lectron and went with a SmartCarb and were much more pleased. Especially because you can adjust it without taking it apart.
@@bryson_stafford yeah I definitely considered changing to a Smart Carb but they were like $750 so that's the only reason I did the lectron. Overall I think I'd probably prefer the SC2.
What adjustments did you have to make to your lectron? I just put one on my yz 250 and wonder if I need to adjust. Still getting lots of oil out the silencer. interested in what you needed to do to yours. Thanks.
I pretty much just richened mine up... I got mine through BeRad and he kinda helped me dial it in... to be fair I am no where close to an expert though!
Love your videos! Makes me want a YZ250X every time!
Have you tried the keihin air striker with the STIC? The power gain is alarming. Definitely makes the power more linear even on a cr500. If you get a chance to run one I would. See if you still like the lectron.
I haven't no. I will look into it though!
@@JasonHamborg Adam Millar from Millar Racing Engines is a dealer for it. He’s in southern Manitoba.
Good stuff, I've been on the fence for a Lectron, I think i'm sold now. I ride hard Enduro on a yz250 in the Southern interior.
Hit up Brad 🤙
Been waiting for this!!🤘
Honestly I just came here for the riding, I have a fuel injected two stroke. Great Vid!
Haha cheers man!!
The way I see it, the Lectron pays for itself due to better fuel economy. Anything else it offers is just icing on the cake.
What did you think of this paired with the Apex/xc dome set up you're running?
It's a pretty rad combo. I actually have a brand new 250x that is completely stock... im going to be making a lap time comparison video here soon between the 2 bikes!
Do video on your head light!
Already did! Go check out my channel 👌
Great video, very well done!
Have you considered an electric start? Looks like the only thing you are missing. Panthera motorsports has come out with one recently.
I have considered it, from what I hear there are a couple companies with them in development 🤔
Can you give us a idea of your clicker settings on your suspension?
Curious about 51 tooth back sprocket is third to short? I am sure 1st and 2nd would be great in woods. How about the 3rd to 4th gap. Is that tighter? And lastly. How much slower is it at top speed? ThankX
Sorry if you addressed in the video, but I'm curious why bother with the lectron when the smart carb seems better in every way
Keep up the good work🤙
Those hand guards are sick...
They make riding in the winter so much more pleasant!!
@@JasonHamborg what brand?
@@deerhunter369 they are made by a company called Kolpin
