The one thing everyone forgets is service. I have a 2017 G90 and I love the car, but most of the service departments I've been to are subpar. Genesis came out with its own brand from Hyundai, like Lexus from Toyota, Infinity from Nissan etc. They introduced the vehicles before dealerships were prepared to give an upscale experience. The car may be a Genesis but dealers for the most part are Hyundai and there is a difference.
The G90 offers so much compared to it's rival and the exterior is simply gorgeous and tasteful, Genesis is my new favourite luxury brand, hopefully it won't have much issues when couple of years passes by, I had 2013 range rover and when warranty expired and one problem fixed another pops out and the maintenance cost was too high to justify when it depreciate so much because of the 2014+ models...the list of problems is too much to list, random RR garage asked almost 10k for repair and then I sold it to nearest person who's dumb enough to buy it for 13k USD...and I paid 88k back in 2013 for it...I would have kept it if it didn't have so many issues and I'm hoping the genesis brand is like Lexus
@Tristan Han honestly, only drove it for 214k kilometres. @@ajtam05 hi Alex, 100k is definitely expensive to me. The inflation is irrelevant in explaining my comment, my point is simple. When purchasing any luxury brand, be it Rolex or a Bentley, the buyer is looking for a level of exclusivity and status. Therefore the reputation and status of the brand must already be established in order for the brand to start at a premium price point . To that point all Mercedes Benz or Lexus are not luxury vehicles in general and neither are status symbols until they reach a certain level of exclusivity, like the AMG or LX 600 or LC 500. Well, the proof is in the pudding. Let’s see what the sales numbers look like. Even Lexus has problems selling some of their luxury cars (LC).
