Don’t ignore, and push aside, the retired folks. They are a wealth of knowledge. They can still be very useful to the agency and still can have the desire to help. This is a great house. I love seeing the all volunteer houses.
Very good stuff, just north of me by a few hours. Definitely one hell of a fleet, and definitely a very dedicated staff! Can't wait to see R-3 picked apart!
Nice station, and good to hear they're looking to the future planning. Some nice apparatus. Didn't realise you had to do so many takes, for the intro, thought it was all one take. Lol. Take care love the videos.
In germany u can be a junior firefighter with 10 years and go on calls when ur 16 in some federal state when ur 18 and as well some houses have a kids department where u can start with 6 years and learn about firefighter work.
This dept is literally about an hour from me....these small depts are usually very tight knit which isnt a bad thing...the one im a fire police lieutenant at is literally made up of a main station and a sub station and around 12 very active members and occasionally a few more do show up
Amazing station! You should reach out to the North Haven, CT fire department. I live in North Haven and would love to have a station cribs and station rigs of the fire department. 😊
We don’t do cold calls. They need to send an invite. If you want to help stop by there and tell them about us and get them to invite us. We are considering heading that direction on the 2nd week in June. So have to move fast.
@@HeroesNextDoor I’m a westerner, personally I think it’s just more maintenance and a waste of tax payers money, to add on they don’t really help with visibility compared to other things, also down here they are not considered tradition since we never really used them, but also like with leather helmets and that tradition we used metal helmets in the early ages, compared to the east which used leathers. But yeah personally I’m just a by the book person, I don’t believe adding extra things that don’t really help with safety at all, I’m for one that likes standard lighting.
To add on though I understand the huge differences across the west coast to the east coast in pretty much everything, it’s almost like they are different countries.

Absolutely not pushing them aside. They love showing up and hanging with them. Not sure why after editing it came across differently
