Super proud of you guys! some of my folks really need to watch this. I’m 50, retired a while at 45. I have 35% of my capital invstments in an IRA, 25% in index funds, and the balance spread across other investment accts, in cumulative of over $ 5M. I receive income from my rental properties too. Zero debt and all is going accordingly 😊
Agreed. They are humble, too. They do not boast either. They simply educate those of us who are interested. They are well suited foe each as a married couple. They compliment each other. I love seeing people who are humble and willing to share information. Their children are equally humble, like their parents. They also have a channel teaching the youth. This video came at a really good time for me. My partner and I are looking to buy our first home and found a dream house that needs updating for $1.1M. This is a bit less than double our net worth. Home prices are down 30% in my area, and this seemed like a great deal for the lot, location and square footage (>2500). However, with interest rates being so high the mortgage payment will severely reduce our ability to save. This video was a good reminder that we're in the building phase still and shouldn't get too far over our skis. If we can get this house for a deal and put in our sweat equity, it could still be a good deal, but we can *also* stay more diversified do the same thing with a cheaper property.

So happy for ORJ. I have driven a Tesla Model X for nearly seven years. It is the most amazing car i have ever driven. Now that it is paid for i decided to self insure against repairs rather than pay for an extended warranty. Tesla wanted five thousand for two more years and car shield wanted $300.00 per month. Rather than pay them $300 per month i decided to save $500 per month toward my repair when it occurred. The first year without coverage I did not have any repairs. The second year i had a $500 repair. I was not surprised by this at all because Tesla has removed nearly all moving parts. There is no engine, no transmission, no timing chains, no hoses, belts, no radiator, no muffler. This car is simply amazing. So very happy that you are now driving what i consider the perfect car. My son traded in his tesla model X for a model Y. I love driving it. Its perfect in every way. Perfect size. Lots of cargo space, enough range, high tech and drives itself. When you take your foot off the accelerator the car stops so your brakes wont wear out. Have never driven a car for six years without replacing the brakes. Dont think i have driven another car for six years. Another amazing thing. Not a speck of rust after six years of snow, ice and salt in ohio winters. Simply amazing

Being extra frugal is not good over the long term (especially when you have a high net worth and lots of disposable income). It will make your family feel like they're in prison. It's good to use money to get the things you want and do the things you want to do.
Love Amon and Christina's content and have been putting some of it into practice, but I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations on FIRE youtubers who's FIRE plan does not include real estate? I have no interest in the real estate market and would love to learn about a FIRE journey that did not include it.
I’m on my fire investment right now. I have three kids. My wife work for the Long Island railroad and I work for MTA. She drives a 2003 ford explorer with 195k on it that belonged to my dad. We payed nothing for it. She only drives it to the train station. I drive a 2015 Altima that’s paid off in full. We had all the fancy cars before that and realized it was a waste of money. We started our investment journey in 2021 and we’re doing pretty well. You and I are about the same age, so you beat me to the early retirement 😂..I’ll be there soon
So happy for you! This year I'm making major sacrifices for my future self. A few years back I did something similar and it paid off in dividends...literally. I'll be taking my first trip to Africa this week (paid for with ease) because of events I set in motion back then. Grateful that I have some wonderful people who are aligned with FI and FIRE to support me on my rich journey.

My portfolio went up 90k in 3 weeks, but that was a market recover. I was wondering the same.

I think it depends - a home is also an investment and a good inflation hedge, but a car is a liability.

Being extra frugal is not good over the long term (especially when you have a high net worth and lots of disposable income). It will make your family feel like they're in prison. It's good to use money to get the things you want and do the things you want to do.

I’m on my fire investment right now. I have three kids. My wife work for the Long Island railroad and I work for MTA. She drives a 2003 ford explorer with 195k on it that belonged to my dad. We payed nothing for it. She only drives it to the train station. I drive a 2015 Altima that’s paid off in full. We had all the fancy cars before that and realized it was a waste of money.
We started our investment journey in 2021 and we’re doing pretty well. You and I are about the same age, so you beat me to the early retirement 😂..I’ll be there soon

So happy for you! This year I'm making major sacrifices for my future self. A few years back I did something similar and it paid off in dividends...literally. I'll be taking my first trip to Africa this week (paid for with ease) because of events I set in motion back then. Grateful that I have some wonderful people who are aligned with FI and FIRE to support me on my rich journey.

I’m curious to understand if you in fact earned $256K in “passive income,” as the video title says, or your portfolio of investments is up $256K thanks to a very nice January in the stock market? If the former is the case - WOW! Of course, the latter is very impressive too as it is a good reminder to investors to “stay the course” and eventually the market will start to bounce back.

I follow your channel closely and I'm familiar with the types of investments you make. I'm curious to see how your strategy compares to the one I have and if I should be making changes by taking your courses. Last year I had an 8.9% return, but most investors as you know who were solely in the markets were down. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Congrats on your returns!! 👍
By the way, my portfolio is split 37% real estate, 32% equities and the remainder in fixed income type investments.
