Hello, one day out of nowhere my godox v860ii-s just stopped firing the flash. It sure what the issue is. Firmware is updated to the latest 1.6 but it’s still not firing or going off.
Even after doing a hard reset of the flash or adjusting camera settings, the flash seems to be stuck and not fire. Everything else still turns on and functions correctly so not sure what’s going on at this point.
Anyone have solutions out there? Would love to hear them.
Faced the same problem yesterday while on a wedding shoot. Luckily I had an extra.

Hey there, I had the same problem.
And this is the main reason why this happens. You'd have over used the flash in 1/1 power, this puts a lot of pressure on the bulb and it turns dark, hence it lags in firing the flash.
Idk how much godox charges for blub replacement but with a third party service center they charge about $10 to replace a new one.
Tip : don't fire continuously on 1/1, give the flash few seconds to recover. Don't over do it.

But i haven't use my flash even at 1/2 i only use 1/4 thats it.
@@buddystylediff2941 upto 1/8, it's not a good zone to be in for a flash for a long time.
I have had the exact same issue. Started after having it for 6 months. I took it to the local photography repare shop and they did all the tests they could and said it was defective. Every so often it will start firing again for a hand full of photos and just stop again. I'm incredibly annoyed. I bought the AA battery version of it, but it chsrges so much slower that its not as efdective for quick events. I'm incredibly frustraited.
I had the same issue with my canon godox v860iic and when I touch with finger the shoe of the flash couple of times it start firing again probably some dirt is the issue.
Would you please share with me the solution u got, i have the same problem as u had, the flash doesn't fire, I reseted it but no result 😭

Hi, did you ever got any information on what happen ? I just bought one and right out the box is doing this.😑 Is the any solution for this problem?
the manufacturer never replied to my e-mail.... I had warranty on this through squaretrade and they just sent me another one after they found that they couldn't fix it.
if you purchased it and it's doing this right out of the box, I would consider it defective. try to send it back and get a refund!

I had the same issue with mine. I brought it to a repair shop and the technitian told me that the internal wirings shorted thats why the flash wasn't firing. He asked me if a dropped the flash and i said yes, twice actually (first when it was mounted on a 8ft light stand
and second when it slipped from my hand maybe 3 ft high.) The repair cost's me Php 2500 ( USD 50). Now its working fine. I hope ill never drop it again ;)

Update your flash firmware 1.8v
Mine is the same way. Very frustrating. I eventually gave up on it and bought a cheap ONN universal flash from walmart and it works fine. So frustrating.
I accidentally fixed mine, i just turn on the flashlight of my iphone and lights the sensor in front of the flash for about 1minute then holla, it works now!!

Just purchased a 860IIc early Sept 2019 from Amazon and tested it a handful of times then it just stopped flashing but would only beep like it does in your video. I contacted the seller and sent them a video as well and havent heard back. I just sent Godox an email but from what I am reading they dont respond either. Never dropped it. I did however purchase a Flashpoint 600xplor through Adorama and had an issue with the transmitter and they replaced it no questions asked within a week.
Resetting didnt help me btw:'(
Mine (v860ii F) was working perfectly fine until I activated the BEEP option. It fired a few times then it stopped firing. Were you able to fix it?
the same happend to me, i activated the beep option and stop firing, did you find out what was wrong?
I faced the same problem. It not works even after hard reset.
Exact same situation. Tried ressetting and updating the firmware on my V860 iii .
Was always working realiably and barely a year old. Also never used much, used it like for 5 events or so. Just one day it stopped working. Didn't get it resolved ....
I had my flask tube replaced and it’s working perfectly.
May I know how much cost involve?

And where did you found the tube? Can't find. Maybe some same tubes from another FlashLights?
I got the version III and same as you get the beep and no flash - it is less than two weeks old. I am sending it back to Godox/Lencarta in the UK.
I had the same problem with my V860ii-N. No drops. Picked up out of a the bag on a job and wouldn't work. I'm getting a Flashpoint version for their better (actually existing) customer service. I see some "Get what you pay for" smirks in the comments. I had two Nikon SB5000s and haven't found any Nikon gear more disappointing. The wireless set up was unreliable and a separate physical part was needed. That system was incredibly expensive. I'd still trade those headaches for the Godox / Flashpoint headaches and make myself feel better by how much less I'm still spending.
If you buy flashpoint from adorama make sure to get extended warranty cause they don’t help after your warranty expires.
I am also facing same issues. I need your help. My flash fails to flash at 1/32 not to talk about 1/1.
i have suddenly faced this problem today during an event it hasnt dropped and whether its on or off camera its not firing at all, i tab on its side after reading some comments below and it just popped for once but again same problem please guide me what should i do i just purchased it a month ago...i have Godox V1 Flash..

Same issue with a TT685N. I guess a short inside or flash tube dead....

I can't seem to activate the FEB option and I'm using the A7riv. Anyone have any solutions ? It's a day old. Urgently require help on this.
I encountered this problem with my V860II on my Canon. I discovered through trial and error that this unit will not fire when set to full power. If I set it to ½ +0.9 power output, or anything less, it works fine. Set it to full power; It will not work. It doesn’t matter how I set the power, either on the back of the flash, or through my Sekonic trigger.
eh, this flash is old. have you tried using another copy of the flash? I bet you the one you have is just defective.
I am having the same issue with the new Godox V860iii-c Canon Version. I used it for one event. Worked perfectly. Now I went to try it and same flash button problem you have. My button stays green. 30 Day refund passed. =(
for what it's worth, i just had this same issue, and cleaning the contacts at the base of the device seemed to have worked for me (where it connects to the camera)...for whoever's reading this in 2021 :)
Hey Jason, what did you use to clean it with?
@@flashwrx627 a little embarrassing, but I'd just cleaned it with a cutip and rubbing alcohol. The thing worked flawlessly for about a week or so, then went intermittent and then dead (while I was on a shoot). Luckily I also had an AD200.
Anyway. That thing is now a paperweight as I can't trust it in the field. I now have a V860III that I got off Amazon.
this is happening ot my Godox TT350. It's just 8 months old.

The one I ordered was like this on arrival. I've just tried a third set of batteries to no avail. Frustrating as this is, it I will return it for a refund. Don't think I'll try another one. This was my first godox product and I'm not impressed. Not by the dead flash, but not by the gimmicks that ship with it either. All very cheap plastic Chinese stuff. For people working with fuji I can see the appeal, for other brands that offer good speedlights, the extra money is probably worth it if you want a reliable product.

i continued to reset mine like 3 times, then it got its act together
I had the same problem. It happens if you upgrade firmware without removing the battery. To resolve this problem, turn off you flash, take out battery, connect USB cable and upgrade firmware

had the same problem recently due to overheating, what i did was disable the high speed sync and shooting under 1/200 works absolutely fine now!

I am having exactly the same issue with my brand new Godox V1. I’m sending it back to Godox
Actually this is a problem must .bcoz godox flashes power as higher as Nikon canon but sync tube is very very poor quilety.change ur sync tube.set it to 50 or higher zoom.be coz sync tube is hug the flash mirror at 24mm.when u fire full powe .its burn even plastic mirror never shoot continue at 1/1.I think every one facing this issue.if possible then replace tube canon or Nikon sync tube inside.
My unit started to missfire 70% of shots, when triggered by XproC.
As someone mentioned before, I also see some black spots on the flash lamp.
I have it for 3 years. Maybe that’s its lifetime.

Sounds like it’s DOA. Return asap. Godox customer support is non-existent too; at least from my experience. I emailed them twice and got no reply. Yikes.

Ugh, did you solve it? Mine it's kind of new, and that started happening yesterday in the middle of a shooting, it works for a little while and then it stops, and after 15 minutes it looks like it shots again but no more than 5 times and then it stops...
tbh i just returned mine and then got a replacement. I don't really use it anymore though cause I purchased the Sony HVL-F60RM mainly because there is an AF assist beam.
the v860ii-s doesn't have a focus assist beam for sony cameras and I didn't know that when I first bought it. kind of useless in low light situations like photographing a wedding reception. haha
@@bryanmiraflor670 Yeah, I hate that. Amazon didn't want to refund me, but after getting a new defective unit I called again and they will refund me, now I'm seriously thinking what to get. The focus assistant thing it's a big thing that I miss a lot from my nikon flash
@@jugodenaranja2010 Godox V1 was just released. If you get that flash might also want to get the amazon extended warranty. I've had asurion insurance on my flashes before and they actually repair them or send me a relacement. good investment to get the warranty on the flash in case anything goes wrong.
Atungo Gordon you should return it, this products are cheap, they don’t go thru a good quality process, and these things happen. They sent me a new one, and it was defective too, a different thing. It has a weird noise but it works well, I told amazon about this and they gave me my money back and they told me that I don’t need to return the products. So now I have a free speedlight. What I’m trying to say is that they are really cheap , they don’t even care about return them with the manufacturer, too much cost for a cheap product
The same happened here I was at an in door b-day event and the flash only seemed to work at intermitting times what bugs me is the flash is only about 6mths old.
My cousin had the same one and i think so he has a same problem.

Are you sure you'e not in wireless mode ?
Regardless of what setting, the flash should’ve fired when I pressed the test button.
No it wasn’t in wireless mode.
Doesn’t matter, I already returned the flash.
