Warmup Scheme, including of number reps per percentage, to evaluate velocity properly. For example, at 70 percent one should take the MV of 3 repetitions while at 80 percent take the MV of 2 repetitions.
@@weiwei4736 Hi! Propulsive velocity is calculated within the technology, so you would need a device to do this for you. Although there seems to be some research that suggests propulsive is actually very close to Mean velocity so you could just use that instead!
I use a linear positional transducer (string on the bar). As of 2021 its the most reliable option on the market (camera systems are good too, but just so darn expensive!)
@@JChu_ Yep Im working on something in that space, bit hard to do the testing I need on the different technologies though with Melbourne currently in lockdown.
What do you want to learn from the world of VBT?

@@alicea2801 Yeah nice idea, I'll start thinking about a video dedicated to building up and ramping within the load velocity profile
I would like to know how to calculate the mean propulsive velocity in VBT, such as flex or Gym aware. Thank you!

WELCOME BACK !!
Thank you, it has been so long!!!
Great to see you back making videos!
Thanks Clay!! I lost my way for a little while there, but excited to be back on the Tube with a topic I am pretty excited to be talking about :)
My favorite thing about VBT is that it measures force and power. This gives two more metrics to measure improvement than just mass.
I really appreciate the work you have done ! I tried to do the research around the VBT topic.
Thanks David, yes trying to keep pushing the ways we use VBT to make it more accessible and more powerful for all users!
Great video mate. Very clearly explained. Subbed
Thanks so much, hoping to get more VBT content out over 2022
This is awesome please make more
No worries Michael, Hell yeah, I have a full series on the way, part two just dropped yesterday, you should go check it out. :)
I am going to research the incidence of injury for this modality, especially in the elderly population.
Interesting! I look forward to seeing the study design and results.
Great video. Well explained.
Thanks, Giovani! Glad it was of value
Indeed it's accelerate what we aim for. But velocity is basically the same... but easier to measure.
Well done.
Ace - been thinking about starting with velocity!
Glad you liked it!! It's well worth taking a bit of time to get set up to use the methods
Hey, how are you measuring the velocity with these lifts?

@@vbtcoach Very interesting! Would love to see a logistics video of setting one of these up and maybe a buyer's guide.

Nice
Glad you liked it! Episode two shouldn't be too far away either.
