    Brilliant footage. 👍 I would be moving my static well away from there. 😮unbelievable that folk are still living so close to the edge. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.You have done a brilliant job capturing it. Excellent work 👌Would love to get my metal detector down there.

      Lovely words, thank you. I'm trying a few changes to my video approach this year....onwards and upwards 😊😊

      @timothystravels8492 I really enjoyed it. No way would I be able to sleep there knowing I could end up on the beach. 😱 I liked the way you had the drone track you. Good stuff. 👍

    Great footage!! After reading the comments, it seems odd that this erosion has increased. That is until I looked at the satellite view of the area. It seems that the town of Bridlington is the problem. They have constructed groynes, seawalls and a harbor that are keeping the sand from making its way up the coast. Very common. Once you disturb a section of coastline it is forever a problem in other areas, many miles away.

    • @timothystravels8492
      @timothystravels8492  Год назад +3

      That's an interesting observation...it does seem fruitless in the long run, moving a problem from one place to another.

    • @danlowe8684
      @danlowe8684 Год назад

      Yes, indeed. What most do not understand is that water bodies - whether rivers, lakes, oceans, etc., will react to anything done to them. For example, I am from the US and know nothing of this area but can assume that Bridlington is likely finding itself dredging sand from their man-made areas mentioned above due to the ocean's adjustment to their invasive measures. The result is that the beaches that the sand being dredged once fed, no longer makes it there to replenish the area. There is a wonderful YT video titled 'A River Of Sand' that explains this. @@timothystravels8492

      Thank you, and yes it's dawned on me that these videos may have a slightly more important role than I first imagined.
      The more I see, the quicker it's changing.

    Can't beleive this my handbag had a caravan in Ulrome in the 70s & early 80s we holidayed there often the site & clifftop where her caravan was has gone! It was near the edge back then. Its eroding so fast & there is nothing you can do to stop it. Glad you have documented it. 😢

    Sad to see the coastal errosion and lost communities.
    The aerial footage really brings it home how vulnerable our coastline is.

    When I was a kid in the fifties we had a caravan at Beachbank, Skipsea owned by Les Simpson. Looks like it's now about 100yds out to sea. There used to be pill boxes on the cliffs and some had fallen into the sea - they made great islands to swim out to at high tide

    Been going to Skipsea since the 60s. Omg it's depressing. Campsite on cliffs gone. Railway carriages gone. Track to Atic gone
    Who in their right minds had bungalows built on the cliffs? It even had its own petrol station at UBC.
