    Heidi, in 2018, at age 45, I had a fluke allergic reaction. It was awful and I was in the hospital for several days. Although we made the switch to natural remedies many years ago, during my hospital stay I was pumped full of pharmaceuticals. It was touch and go for a couple of days and the 3rd day I was finally able to walk with assistance. Anyway, 3 months later I was horrified when my hair started falling out by handfuls! I researched and found it was due to the medications while in the hospital. I found your hair care videos and started using the info, everything from the wooden comb to vinegar. What a blessing. My hair is back to 99% normal now! Thank you!!! Btw, my hair texture, curl and thickness is nearly identical to yours. (I wanted straight hair as a little girl but I now love it just the way it is) sorry for the long post.

    My girl friend an I went to a high school which had very strict rules and one of them was we could wear no makeup, so she went to using castor oil on her eyelashes. They grew very long and thick, and when she curled them they were very nice looking and actually, with the oil they were darker than usual, and looked like she was wearing mascara. When she was called upon the carpet for wearing mascara, she was able to tell the principle of the school what she was doing. There was nothing more that could be said, because it wasn't mascara. She put it in an empty deodorant roller bottle and applied it that way.

    I'm surprised that no one has asked this, but leave it to me to have my brain run on a long abandoned train track as usual! So neither hubby nor I take a shower every day as we live in the desert and our skin just gets too dried out when we shower daily - sooooo.... When you have oil in your hair/on your scalp (same thing right?), how do you keep from getting it all over your pillow and headrest on your chair, etc?
    Also, while this concoction will be infusing for a long time, is there something (essential oils maybe) that I can start with asap? Just this last week, I have lost so much hair, that my scalp shines thru my salt and pepper hair. I'm over 60, but not ready to have see thru hair! So anything I can start using now that will help while I'm "brewing" my "Heidi hair tonic" would be outstanding! Thanks sweet teacher!

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  2 года назад +2

      Actually, I have been asked that many times. Yes, I just leave it in until the next time I wash my hair, which is usually every other day. Any of the essential oils I mentioned in the above video can be used either straight or in a carrier oil depending on your sensitivity and applied directly to the scalp

    • @shara4389
      @shara4389 2 года назад +1

      @@RainCountryHomestead so about the oily hair... Do you use a shower cap or something to sleep in so you're not making yucky pillow/case? And the essential oils and the carrier will do the job nicely till my "brew" is finished? This is just plain UGLY being able to see my scalp shining thru my brown and gray hair! Thank you 💙

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  2 года назад +5

      Just now seeing this, sorry, I only rub it into my scalp in the morning, the oil pretty much gets absorbed throughout the day so it is never an issue, however, if you need to wear a shower cap, the warmth it will create will actually help it work better and absorb into the skin

      I am sure the silica has something to do with that but one needs to be careful not to take it daily for a long period of time or it can cause issues with the digestive tract because its abrasive action. It is great for cleaning out intestinal parasites and scrubbing the colon but think of it as scrubbing your skin with a scrub brush, at first it feels good and cleans well but do that too often and it will make the skin raw. Same happens to your insides with Diatomaceous Earth

    A suggestion Heidi - dig a bit more into Vitamin D. I am no longer recommending it unless in whole food form. When one has a non functioning thyroid the first mineral deficiency to consider is copper, Cu-0 mineral. Copper is depleted by synthetic supplements such as ascorbic acid and synthesized D. (Many other factors as well - such as GMO, anti-biotics, fear - aka the news). I used to think it was vitamin D but with this year's revolutionary read of "Cu-re Your Fatigue" by Morley Robbins (look up interview with Weston A Price foundation and Morley Robbins), and learning from my mentor Dr. Monzo - I have learned so much about copper/iron balance and critical need for Retinol A in order to absorb our essential nutrients. Pure, cold pressed cod liver oil is God's perfect balance of retinol A and vitamin D3. Always love your videos. I love horsetail for my hair tonic as well! Castor oil on my eyelids totally took care of my dry eyes!

    My pineapple sage is quite large and full of flowers right now. Would that be a good sage to use for medicinal uses as well? I think you've mentioned before sages of all kinds are all good to use. I'm blessed this plant is huge and I dont want it to go to waste :) Thanks in advance.

      Yes, it should be good, each sage is going to be a bit different and have slightly different benefits but generally most are the same

    Burdock root and horsetail is good for hair too. I stumbled onto this video looking for recipes for msm body butter recipes for hair and skin. So msm is also supposed to be good externally. I had been taking it orally but it is nasty!

    Be cautious with Rosemary because it can cause your aleady hypertension higher. So be aware of that.

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  Год назад

      This is for external use but anything herb can interact with medications so people need to always do their own research though in this application and the small amount of rosemary in it highly unlikely there would be an issue. It would be no different than eating an Italian dish in where a little rosemary was added to the sauce. It is a potent herb so anyone who cooks with it knows not to add too much

    We sell home test kits for adrenal function that run thyroid function. The hypothalamus, pituitary, and adrenal all come before thyroid and unfortunately Western medicine only focuses on the thyroid. In addition there is a tremendously complicated biochemistry of the steroid Cascade that Western doctors don't understand and they don't know where to intervene, therefore their standards only intervene with synthetic thyroid medication and synthetic hormones for menopause. There are tons of other options and my company consults about this

    Hi Heidi! I have waist length hair and I am wanting to reach tailbone length. I actually was at tail bone length. And I had my husband cut off about 3 inches. I trim/cut my hair 1 to 2 times a year. This was great. I'm going to look into this for my hair.

      I believe I list off what I am using in the video audibly so you can always write it down if you need to. Though I am going through some old recipes and starting to write things down for those who need it, it all takes time and I have to do such things as I find the time. For me to go write up the list for this recipe, I would have to actually watch the video and take notes myself as I do not always these the same exact way every time and I do not follow a written recipe myself.

    Wow this looks great; however, I am very surprised that aloe vera did not make it in the recipe. I will probably add aloe vera to my hair oil.

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  2 года назад

      The reason is because the list of herbs to help with hair growth is very long and since I was making an oil, aloe would not mix well in the oil. However, I have used also and marshmallow root to make a hair conditioner before that worked quite well. For more on herbs and more for hair growth, here is the list I compiled which I cannot remember if I included aloe but I do have a lot more in the list hat I did not use in the above recipe: ruclips.net/video/v6sOzof699Q/видео.html
