I am glad the transport ships for the Orcs and Undead are changed...

The ships are good and all but the new water looks more like a sheet of glass than an actual sea. The old water at least looked like water. I hope they improve the water in Reforged.

That's because water works differently in the Starcraft 2 editor. There's the transparency of the surface and the thickness of the fog beneath it which suggests how murky/deep water can be. You won't have to worry about this.

I want them to add shipyards and ships to the standard tech trees. That should balance the Naga's amphibious movement and allow them to add the Naga.

I remember being so disappointed the first time I played WC3, and realized they took away my boats from WC2, and then again when they added boats for the campaign but not melee maps.
Most melee maps, especially the small ones and the biggest ones, don't have deep water, which makes this building obsolete most of the time. But that's what custom games are for. Just create or find a custom map that's built around ships and naga that emphasizes on naval battle. Not everything has to be included in the 15yo melee game that will potentially cause balance issues. With Reforged coming, surely more map creators and new players will fill in the lack of new custom maps and lobby queues.

That's the problem. They cut out a massive aspect of WC2 when they made WC3, and never amended the mistake. WC2 had plenty of maps where ships were unusable, but they still had ships.
You don't seem to get it. Warcraft 3 reforged was never about adding new units or gameplay aspects that is not the point. This is to make warcraft 3 graphics better and not outdated. Changing anything about the gameplay and it wouldn't be warcraft 3 anymore but something else.
Looking forward to a naval combat since Red Alert 2.
I really hope someone will make custom naval combat maps :D

The thing still puzzles me is that the Alliance have technological superiority but still couldn't figure out how to put steam power on to a ship and armour it.

Well by the time of the Northrend campaign in WoW they do start building steamships with some iron cladding. They are generally called icebreakers or destroyers in-game. Then of course they had the gnomish submarines since WC2, which presumably use some sort of relatively advanced propulsion system.
It bothers me severly that they don't fire the animation from the actual cannons and the projectile literaly shoots out of the wooden deck and not the side cannons, Im spoiled by age of empires.

The more models are coming, the more I consider Reforged to be godly remake. Finally Orc transport ship isn't sharing the same model as Undead one! Finally water is transparent and we can see destroyed ships instead of original opaque water with ships just disappearing into it.
The best thing about reforged is the fact that we have unique models tbh :D

The animation from water in Reforged is just too much like wtf are we looking the boat or the water drizzles around it? And the water is took dark compare to Classic.
The Water in Reforged should get a dynamic system due to time/weather system we already have in the game. When it is night time the water turns into dark like in reforged but when it turns into morning, water should turn back into the classic.
(If this all due the water in both Reforged & Classic in the video are the same)
P.S maybe we won't seeing our water change slowly dynamically as far as our known time/weather system actually the only one that changes the visual of a map dynamically and effects the game. It's a great mechanic for a strategy games like this.
I hope they do a better job with the water

@@LeystTV, I just open the TFT, Custom Game and then I choose the Island/Islands map that only played by 4 players. Every island I explored, it's only a Goblin Shipyard, but in the middle of an island there are Tavern, Blue Mercenary Camp and Marketplace.

Battleships game was very fun in WC3. I hope to see it again lol
The night elf frigate and the default ship were the only two ships that both looked good, and felt like its old version but in higher quality.
Doing ships in Reforged has been tricky so far, either the cannons are too small and don't stand out in the same way as the old versions, or the way they attack is just pathetic to look at and has no oomph.
Not to mention the redesigns, ohhh the redesigns, some ships just don't look like its old selves, and most look waaay too skinny or have too much space on the deck. The Battleships especially suffer from this. You know something's wrong when the Night Elf Frigate looks better than its Battleship.
Hope Blizzard will pay attention to these issues and hopefully fix them, or redo naval combat completely, so those small cannons can fire in volley and from the side, like in Age of Empires.
With these redesigns They should atleast have made the cannons shoot from the side like real ships tbh

I thought it was just Alliance ships, then I saw the rest lol... My favorite Horde Juggernaut looks bad now I feel. At least add all the banners on the side , it had such a unique look before.
