I'm a 2nd year student studying oil and gas engineering, I'm contemplating getting a tablet and one of the reasons is to help with uni, I think having one in first year and this year would have helped a lot, so I've been looking up videos on the S7 vs S7+ vs S7 FE .. trying to decide between these three which to go for, I found your video here because of the s7+ and although the video wasnt even about the tablet, I stayed to watch the full video because, well, it was really engaging and interesting. Just generally everything about it was well put together, seems like an honest review even tho you're being sponsored and the demonstration of the app was really good, it seems like something that would help someone like me a lot with my studies in 3rd year. I've liked and subbed and I just wanna also say thanks ! Im about to check your other videos and I'm crossing my fingers hoping you did a review for your s7+ too 😂

So I'm starting uni as of next month and i have been trying to find an app for samsung, that is just as good as goodnotes for ipad, since im not really an apple person. ive been searching for flexcil videos to make my final decision on what app will i use for note taking. the feature of being able to simultaneously write in your chosen notebook and have a textbook open is a blessing, since professors often require both at the same time, but what really struck me about flexcil is how the developers quickly respond to users' suggestions and try to incorporate the new functions into the app. this is really important to me since now i feel like i can trust flexcil to add something i notice im missing later!
For 4 months i got my Samsung Tab and couldn't find a decent pdf editor, thanks to your video I cam across Flexcil, love the editing features and the interface is very user-friendly. Thank you so much

Great video! Two questions, can you link the pen youre using and secondly can you lean your wrist on the tablet while writing and it still works? Idk what its called i think palm resistance? Hope that makes sense!
Hey, sorry for the late reply! So I believe you are referring to the usage of the s pen? It is automatically linked to the tablet and therefore compatible to work with note taking apps. Palm rejection the other feature you refer to, is also great so you can easily rest your palm and wrist whilst writing. Very paper like experience.
is it possible to add a link in a pdf to another page in another pdf? so when I want I can click and go to the specific page in another pdf? basically a link between pdf.
I believe it should be possible. You can definitely do it from PDF to a note so I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do it PDF to PDF. If I get some time I'll test it out and get back to you, apologies!
Good observation! So I actually just downloaded this cunninghams textbook for the purposes of the video! In reality I very rarely use any textbook for anatomy, mostly using the online versions provided by my uni for when I do use. Grays is fantastic overall I'd say. I also like Moore clinically orientated anatomy as well as Abrahams anatomy atlas too.
I'm not familiar with xodo unfortunately, however Flexcil is a nice app, especially with their new syncing update. It's one of the best pdf annotators out there on android.

Yesss I believe so...although to be honest with you I've barely used the app since the review and wouldn't be able to give you a definitive answer sorry!

Thank you so much for such a detailed video. I am so frustrated with samsung notes. The only reason I'm looking fot an alternative for samsung notes is because it keeps whitewashing my PDFs. I had a couple of questions though. If you could answer them please. Is there an issue of whitewashing or corrupting the PDFs with this app as well? And also, can you make changes to edited PDFs after you have exported them? What I mean is that in samsung notes, I used to highlight my books then upload it all on my google drive. Later when I wanted to erase some higlight, I could just download the PDF back in notes and erase it. Is that possible in this app as well?
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you've found the video helpful. To answer your questions, firstly I've not experienced this pdf corruption issue with samsung notes. However, flexcil for me also did not have this issue so I guess you can try it instead. In terms of exporting and then importing again, unfortunately you won't be able to edit the same changes. If you have the document saved in either app then you can edit anything anytime. Hope this helps:)

You said you've never faced any corruption of files in Samsung Notes either, do you keep all your PDFs on the notes app or do you keep an offline copy of them? Because I keep an offline copy as well as some of the novels are on the app itself. The novels haven't showed any such problem, but my notes, the ones I save offline on my tablet or my drive, do. So, do you save your work offline or just on the app?

Flexcil works without WiFi. Unfortunately there was no syncing feature at the time of making this review. I have decided to stick to Samsung notes and no longer use flexcil.

Its a one off payment for one device. I'm not too sure what would happen if you uninstalled then reinstalled, id personally advise against doing that if you can. I'm not too sure if you'd be charged twice because there was no account system at the time I made the review. The app is pretty cool but i wont download it because it has basiclly nothing in the free version you need to pay for the Premium version to work ''normal''

Tab S7+ hasn't caused me eye strain issues:) I'd recomend some blue light filter glasses, and remember to take breaks between long hours of screen time. The 20/20/20 rule also works very well (look at something 20 metres away for 20 seconds every 20min)
You scroll with finger and write with s pen, I personally find it quite convenient because it prevents accidental scrolling when you write. I can understand why this may be annoying for you, hopefully samsung gives us options in the future:)

Nice review, even if nothing here makes me want to switch from Samsung note that I think is perfect 😅 if I need to open 2 pdf or notes in a same time I just open in fractionned screen twice the app, but I do not need this often as you can switch so quickly from one to an other... and I already copy images from pdf easily with samsung notes... but if I didn't have a samsung tablet, I think I would give a try to this one... As long as you have the PDF downloaded on your device, it can be imported as a document into samsung notes. Im not too sure what you mean by inserting text without opening Internet browser though, sorry if I've misunderstood your question!

Samsung notes, it has a good PDF reader. Flexcil has a much better PDF reader however I use Samsung notes for everything else so makes sense to use it for reading as well:)
Both are pretty similar, I just use Samsung notes more, it feels more compatible with the tab, of course for obvious reasons! Both are really good and smooth:)
No actually the quality for me has been really good. I've not used Flexcil extensively but I have exported different PDFs and they have all been fine so far:)

Yes! I completely agree with you, I think there's way too much hype around the ipad, the tab s7+ is really underrated, so much potential for what you can do on it. Flexcil and Samsung notes in my opinion are both underdogs!!😅
@pikapikachuuu Pen and paper never lets you down. Is cheaper than buying a tablet with a pen or constantly changing electronic pen nips when they are worn out. I use electronic notes every now and then; but mostly I use pen and paper and prefer it too.
@@KittyKat94 but you need ink for your pen or a new pencil so...i get what you mean. some people just prefer real paper and thats ok. i find digital better as it is easier to keep organized and less heavy/bulky + having what is essentially an arm pc with you at school is very useful.
@@SimonBauer7 Yeah, each person has their own preference. For me buying a new pen or pencil along with some more paper is way cheaper than tablet and electronic pen. Also the feeling of writing with pen and paper and on tablet is completely different.

I think it comes down to if you want your notes synced because that's something samsung notes can do but flexcil can't. Saying that however, flexcil is better at pdf reading so....really up to and what you're looking for!

Thanks so much for watching the videos! So your question is actually really interesting because all my notes are uploaded to samsung's cloud therefore its not taking up any 'real' storage on my tablet. I believe its taken up around 1.5GB on the cloud.

Yes I agree that flexcil is a better PDF reader, its probably the best we will get on android! Noteshelf seemed to keep crashing for me so I stuck with samsung notes:)
Nice to see someone who actually knows where Edinburgh is!😂Honestly both apps are very good. Really depends what your main usage will be. I think flexcil is better at almost everything than Samsung notes. However, Flexcil does not offer syncing of notes, Samsung notes can be synced across all your devices including pc so for me this is very important in deciding which app I use. Really all up to you, note taking is pretty much the same on both apps, Flexcil is 100% better for PDF annotating. Goodluck deciding:)

It sucks that Notes are basically "stuck" inside flexcil instead of having a versatile PDF File

Can Flexcil scan documents ?
No not really, but you can import pictures of scanned documents. The tablet camera allows you to scan:)
I have Samsung S7 Tab. But sometimes all the pdfs seems blurry. Other times they seem to work ok. I fail to find information about this issue.
I think sometimes for larger files it can take a while to load properly. However, I have loaded large textbooks and its coped fine:)
If I purchase the planner or standard will it be lifetime purchase or just for a year.. pls answer guys😢

Nice review, even if nothing here makes me want to switch from Samsung note that I think is perfect 😅 if I need to open 2 pdf or notes in a same time I just open in fractionned screen twice the app, but I do not need this often as you can switch so quickly from one to an other... and I already copy images from pdf easily with samsung notes... but if I didn't have a samsung tablet, I think I would give a try to this one...

As long as you have the PDF downloaded on your device, it can be imported as a document into samsung notes. Im not too sure what you mean by inserting text without opening Internet browser though, sorry if I've misunderstood your question!

It should let you i think in the free version. Samsung notes is also very good for importing templates.

Samsung notes, it has a good PDF reader. Flexcil has a much better PDF reader however I use Samsung notes for everything else so makes sense to use it for reading as well:)

Hi!, mHow smooth or laggy is the writing compared to Samsung Notes? I ve heard that writting on Flexcil is more laggy...
Both are pretty similar, I just use Samsung notes more, it feels more compatible with the tab, of course for obvious reasons!

No actually the quality for me has been really good. I've not used Flexcil extensively but I have exported different PDFs and they have all been fine so far:)

Yes! I completely agree with you, I think there's way too much hype around the ipad, the tab s7+ is really underrated, so much potential for what you can do on it. Flexcil and Samsung notes in my opinion are both underdogs!!😅

You just use the gesture pen, highlight, and a gesture is automatically made. I demonstrated this in the video:)

9/10 for the app as I do prefer typing to writing on my tablet or surface pro.
For writing I use actual paper and pen.

@pikapikachuuu Pen and paper never lets you down. Is cheaper than buying a tablet with a pen or constantly changing electronic pen nips when they are worn out.
I use electronic notes every now and then; but mostly I use pen and paper and prefer it too.
@@KittyKat94 but you need ink for your pen or a new pencil so...i get what you mean. some people just prefer real paper and thats ok. i find digital better as it is easier to keep organized and less heavy/bulky + having what is essentially an arm pc with you at school is very useful.
@@SimonBauer7 Yeah, each person has their own preference. For me buying a new pen or pencil along with some more paper is way cheaper than tablet and electronic pen.
Also the feeling of writing with pen and paper and on tablet is completely different.

I think it comes down to if you want your notes synced because that's something samsung notes can do but flexcil can't. Saying that however, flexcil is better at pdf reading so....really up to and what you're looking for!

So your question is actually really interesting because all my notes are uploaded to samsung's cloud therefore its not taking up any 'real' storage on my tablet. I believe its taken up around 1.5GB on the cloud.

I have been using Samsung Notes for 3 semesters now and so far i used 1.77gb. It is nothing comparing to videos that are 44gb on my device.

In my opinion flexcil is the best app for pdf reader and noteshelf for note taking but noteshelf need more update as it does on Apple devices
Yes I agree that flexcil is a better PDF reader, its probably the best we will get on android! Noteshelf seemed to keep crashing for me so I stuck with samsung notes:)

Nice to see someone who actually knows where Edinburgh is!😂Honestly both apps are very good. Really depends what your main usage will be. I think flexcil is better at almost everything than Samsung notes. However, Flexcil does not offer syncing of notes, Samsung notes can be synced across all your devices including pc so for me this is very important in deciding which app I use.
Really all up to you, note taking is pretty much the same on both apps, Flexcil is 100% better for PDF annotating.

Thanks for reviewing 👍 ,this app actually fantastic and of course I will replace Samsung notes with this for my next year for some reasons like gesture mode and pop up not as well as displaying several notes and pdfs in the tab bar wich makes it so easy to navigate through your notes unlike samsung that you need to get out of the note.

Flexcil is a free download but there are in app subscriptions you can purchase to give you access to full features. Samsung notes is completely free😁
