  • Sweetcorn & Cheese Samoosa as well as other fillings are a huge favourite in South Africa & many other parts of the world. This samoosa is vegetarian friendly & contains no meat.
    ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ CLICK FOR INGREDIENTS ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
    Sweet corn is typically corn (mielies) that have a higher sugar content.
    This samoosa/samosa filling is very appetizing & it is stuffed into a pastry, also known as samoosa pur & thereafter fried in shallow oil until golden.
    In South Africa, most people refer to it as samoosa, whilst internationally, it is referred to as samosa. Samoosa's actually originated in the Middle East but passed over to the Indian subcontinent & today most people categorize it as an Indian savoury dish.

    Thank u for the tip about adding flour to the cheese bow it makes sense when u fry the inside mixture is creamy and together otherwise mine the corn and cheese would be separate thank you

    Awesome. Like ur version. I gather u coat the cheese in four, in order to prevent the cheese seeping out the pur whilst frying. Thanks for that tip🙂

      Thank you, yup the flour trick helps a lot.
      I use fathimas pur, I have tried cheaper ones but the quality is just bad. I haven't yet made my own, I'm afraid once I start I might not want to buy it again 😂 and it sounds like a lot of work

      @@eatmeerecipes Cool thanks😊. I do like Fatima brands myself - even the Springroll.
      Making the pur is not the problem - its the rolling - I'm also tempted to start making my own - not sure if my back would appreciate that though😅. Thanks for ur reply. Stay safe, remain blessed🙏🏾. Kind regards from a rainy JHB🇿🇦.

    I think the Samoosa’s turned out perfectly fine with th at amount of oil. I also don't like frying it in deep oil. I'm definitely going to try that cheese hack. I absolutely hate when the cheese oozes out before its done frying. I just have one question. I love making alot of Samoosa’s and freezing them for easy snacks. But no matter what kind of filling I add into them, they always tend to crack really bad when it's frozen. And I don't put alotnof filling for it to expand while freezing to crack the pur. It always ends uo being sk disappointing after all the effort because after freezing them for a few weeks, some of them crack so bad that it isn't even worth frying cHse everything will come out. Please advise if you know how to solve that issue 🤗

    • @eatmeerecipes
      @eatmeerecipes  2 года назад +1

      Hi Danielle, yes definitely find frying in too much oil makes it so soggy lol, totally prefer it this way.
      I hope you do try the hack, it's needed for the cheese disaster...when you are freezing them put a layer of plastic - usually I get those mini plastic bags & just cut them accordingly...so you want to put a sheet of plastic in your container, add the samoosas (side by side & not over each other) then line the plastic over the samoosas & put another layer of samoosas...I find this works for me because I have also purchased some frozen & because they all stuck together this also causes them to crack & break. I hope this will help.

      U must semi fry the samosas before freezing

    • @leemanfatima3615
      @leemanfatima3615 4 месяца назад

      It's all about freezer bites. Use a Ziplock bag and layer with plastic inbetween. You can also sprinkle flour lightly on samoosas then package. Seal in airtight container.
