    Welcome to E-commerce Tutorials by BlueTuskr!
    As a seller, it doesn’t only give you more sales, but you are also providing good customer service for your buyers. In this tutorial, we are going to walk you through on how to create variations to an existing listing.
    Before you create a variation on an existing Amazon listing, you need to know the parent-child relationship first which is explained in our previous tutorial. All of the child listings need to be created first before creating a parent listing or a variation listing.

    Thank you for being the only place on earth to provide this information!!! Every other video seems to show how to add variations for if you already have a variation which is pretty much useless. And Seller Central's explanation is to upload an excel file with instructions that contradict themselves.

    Helpful video! Thanks for making it. Do you have any tips on creating a totally new parent listing for an existing ASIN (that I originally created years ago, with lots of reviews)? And the only variation will be the quantity of included items. I'd like to retain all of the comments and feedback for the original child listing of 5-piece, but create a parent listing that is inclusive of the 5--piece listing, retains all the feedback and allows for new quantities. For example 1.3, 5, 6 pieces of the ASIN.

    Hi, thanks.
    I see that ASIN's are now doubled in my inventory with 2 different SKU's. Amount of sales are also different on both SKU's.
    Can i fix this? Because i have the feeling this will spread the sales on 2 SKU's wich will influence my ranking.
    Hope to hear from you.

    • @BlueTuskr
      @BlueTuskr  Год назад

      It's not uncommon for an ASIN to be associated with multiple SKUs in your Amazon Seller Central inventory. This can happen if you have multiple offers for the same product or if you have used different SKUs for the same product in the past. However, having two different SKUs for the same ASIN can cause confusion and may impact your sales and ranking on Amazon.
      Here are some steps you can take to fix the issue:
      Check for duplicate listings: Make sure that you don't have duplicate listings for the same product. Duplicate listings can cause confusion and lead to multiple SKUs for the same ASIN.
      Merge listings: If you have duplicate listings, try merging them into a single listing. This can help to eliminate duplicate SKUs and simplify your inventory.
      Use a single SKU: Make sure that you use a single SKU for each ASIN in your inventory. Using multiple SKUs for the same ASIN can cause confusion and make it harder to track your sales and inventory.
      Contact Amazon Seller Central support: If you are unable to resolve the issue on your own, try contacting Amazon Seller Central support for further assistance. They will be able to help you diagnose the issue and provide you with a solution.
      By consolidating your listings and using a single SKU for each ASIN, you can help to simplify your inventory and avoid any confusion that may impact your sales and ranking on Amazon.

    This helped get it variated but what if items have different titles and images do I delete this from the parent sku?

    • @BlueTuskr
      @BlueTuskr  7 месяцев назад

      When creating a variation for an existing Amazon listing, if the items have different titles and images, you do not need to delete the parent SKU. Instead, ensure that each variation under the parent SKU has its unique title and images that correspond to the specific variant. The parent listing should serve as a generic overview that unifies all variations, while each child SKU can have its own specific details, including distinct titles and images. This setup allows customers to see all variations grouped under a single listing while viewing the unique attributes of each variant.

    Can the variation be created while adding a new product and what about the price factor in offers tab?

    • @BlueTuskr
      @BlueTuskr  7 месяцев назад

      Yes, variations can be created when adding a new product on Amazon Seller Central. When you begin the process of adding a new product listing, Amazon provides options to specify variations such as size, color, style, or other attributes directly within the listing creation workflow. During this setup, you can define the variations for your product and input specific details for each variant, including SKU, price, quantity, and product features. Amazon's intuitive interface guides you through each step, allowing you to configure variations seamlessly as part of the initial listing creation process.
      Regarding the "Price" factor in the "Offers" tab on Amazon Seller Central, this section allows you to manage and set prices for each variation individually after the product listing has been created. Once your product is listed, navigate to the "Manage Inventory" section, locate your product listing, and click on "Edit." Within the edit screen, navigate to the "Offers" tab, where you can adjust pricing for each variation under the "Pricing" section. Here, you can enter specific prices for different variations based on market conditions, competition, and other relevant factors. This flexibility enables you to optimize pricing strategies and effectively manage offers for variations within your product listings on Amazon.

    I am copying the listing from a listing with variations but it always says no variations available for that category. It is under food. I don't understand why a listing with variations that is copied doesn't allow variations. Even if I don't copy the listing it won't let me add more variations to the existing listing.

    • @BlueTuskr
      @BlueTuskr  Год назад +1

      There could be several reasons why you are unable to add variations to a listing under the "Food" category in Amazon Seller Central. Here are some common reasons why this may happen and steps you can take to fix them:
      Variation eligibility: Check if the product is eligible for variation. Some categories on Amazon have restrictions on which products are eligible for variations. Make sure that the product you are trying to list is eligible for variation in the "Food" category.
      Variation theme: Make sure that you have selected the correct variation theme for your product. Amazon requires that you use one of the predefined variation themes for each category. Ensure that you have selected the correct variation theme for the "Food" category.
      Variation types: Check if you have selected the correct variation type for your product. Amazon requires that you use one of the predefined variation types for each category. Ensure that you have selected the correct variation type for the "Food" category.
      Parent-child relationship: Make sure that you have set up the parent-child relationship correctly for your variations. Each variation must be linked to a parent product in order to appear as a variation on Amazon. Ensure that you have set up the parent-child relationship correctly for your variations.
      If none of the above solutions work, try contacting Amazon Seller Central support for further assistance. They will be able to help you diagnose the issue and provide you with a solution.

    How do I get the contribution SKU & external ID

    • @BlueTuskr
      @BlueTuskr  7 месяцев назад

      To find the Contribution SKU and External ID for your products on Amazon, you typically need to navigate through the Amazon Seller Central interface. The Contribution SKU is an identifier you provide when you create or update a product listing, while the External ID usually refers to the product's UPC, EAN, ISBN, or other standard identifiers used in the listing process. To locate these, go to your Amazon Seller Central account and click on "Inventory" then "Manage Inventory." Find the product listing you want to check and click on the "Edit" button next to it. Here, you'll see the SKU listed under the product details.
      For the External ID, go to the product's detail page in the same "Manage Inventory" section and click on "Edit" to view the listing details. In the product information tabs, usually under "Vital Info," you will find fields like UPC, EAN, or ISBN, which are considered External IDs. If these identifiers were initially used to create the listing, they will be visible in this section. If you cannot find these IDs or if they were not entered correctly, you may need to refer to your product's packaging or manufacturer's information to obtain them. If you're still having trouble, contacting Amazon Seller Support can provide additional guidance and clarification on how to retrieve these identifiers.

      Typically this is something you would need Amazon’s help with. When you get a GTIN exemption approved from them they should be able to turn off the need for a GTIN on your account.

    Hello, is it possible to create variations on products already in place whose brand is "generic"? I tried since gs1 by putting "generic" in the name of the brand but it sticks on the side of amazon when I create a parent file, too bad because to propose bundles or other variations on generic products without brands and which are successful it can be a good idea.

    • @BlueTuskr
      @BlueTuskr  3 года назад

      That would be a good idea! Unfortunately, the brand who created the listing owns it so you wouldn’t be able to create children without them being the ones to do it.

    • @BlueTuskr
      @BlueTuskr  Год назад

      No, you don't need to create both variations as single products first on Amazon. Instead, create a parent listing (a placeholder, not a sellable product) and add child products (actual sellable variations) directly under this parent listing. Choose a variation theme during this process to display different options like size or color to customers on a single product page.

    All I ran into were error 8541 :( because the asins already exist...
    WHY on earth is this so complicated, Amzn?

    • @BlueTuskr
      @BlueTuskr  Год назад

      Error code 8541 on Amazon Seller Central typically means that there is an issue with the variation theme that you have selected for your product. Here are some possible fixes for this error:
      Check the variation theme: Verify that you have selected the correct variation theme for your product. Each category on Amazon has specific variation themes that can be used. Make sure that you have selected the correct variation theme for your category.
      Check the variation type: Verify that you have selected the correct variation type for your product. Each category on Amazon has specific variation types that can be used. Make sure that you have selected the correct variation type for your category.
      Verify the SKU: Make sure that each variation has a unique SKU. Amazon requires that each variation has a unique SKU, even if the product itself has a unique identifier like an ASIN.
      Try a different browser: Sometimes browser issues can cause problems with creating variations. Try using a different browser or clearing your browser cache and cookies to see if that resolves the issue.
      Contact Amazon Seller Central support: If none of the above fixes work, try contacting Amazon Seller Central support for further assistance. They will be able to help you diagnose the issue and provide you with a solution.
      I hope these fixes help you resolve the error code 8541 and successfully create your product variation on Amazon Seller Central.

    Appreciate the tutorial! However, very confusing in the middle because you skip over "add product ID" by putting your own numbers in. Where do those numbers even come from if the product doesn't exist yet? If I had a white pillow listed, and I found a red and green... the red and green don't exist in the system yet so they don't have ID's, right? Where do I find the numbers that you pasted in. You didn't explain that part. Thank you for the rest!
