One of the best podcasts. Inner child work is amazing. I agree with Paulie that it would do wonders for you and your journey. She was one of the more spot on therapists you ever had on your show. It will also help with your addiction in any relationship you might have with or without Stephen. Addictions are not just alcohol/drugs, sex etc. Anything to lower the internal fear and anxiety could very well be some sort of addiction including yours with a guy who has never truly been invested in your relationship. He tore you down to the core if you hadn't noticed even yet.

I’m sorry but this is what ALWAYS gets me with therapists who are on a large platform. When Laura said her first answer this woman says “REALLY!!!!!!” as in “it better not be” then Laura did say no it’s not, idk if what for her guest or her. But the woman immediately was like “ah ha, I knew you would say what I expected” imagine if Laura kept to her original thought/answer 🤔

1980 is GenX. Some say 81 is too. Millennials according to most sources is 82-96. And Xennials isn’t an actual generation is was something written in an article to explain how some can relate to two generations. Which can be anyone. I’m GenX and can relate to the silent generation so, lol.

    • @leilap2495
      @leilap2495 9 месяцев назад +1

Millennials are typically considered to be 1981-96
      GenX 1965-80
The Xennial microgeneration “Oregon trail generation” is ~1977-1983-85ish depending on the source. I personally find it to be very different.

      Baby Boomers 1946-1963
      Generation Jones is 1954-1964
      Gen X is 1965-1979
1980-1996 is millennials also known as Gen Y
      1997-2012,Gen Z
      2010/2012-2025 Gen Alpha
I have spend years researching these as I have a sister born in 1980 and a son born in 1995
The dates are nuanced , they aren’t written in stone and has more to do with experience and things going on in life more than dates.
You could look anywhere online and you’ll see that none of these dates are written in stone., however, the only thing I have found not disputed is , the baby boomers dates (they have a subsection of generation Jones which ends in 1964), 1965 start generation X also known as the lost generation/ latch key kids also the last kids to fully be kids They also experience the same things as children HOWEVER the distinction changes in that generation X made it through high school & college without the internet or cell phones. The first year of the millennials is very disputed it can be anywhere from 1979 up to 1982, and because that one’s disputed everything after that can be disputed the date of the beginning of millennials has never been fully defined that one fluctuates which then means everything after it fluctuates, because the Internet and cell phones.
The oldest millennials did not have Internet until college the youngest millennials don’t remember a time without it . Generation X didn’t need internet in universities except for the universities inter connected internet service BUT it wasn’t like it is today or even what it would become by 1998. Or until 2004. The Internet was ever revolving especially between ‘93 and ‘98 because nothing was uniform. By the time the younger millennials were in school, computers were common place: The younger Gen X are mostly computer literate and learned, whereas the younger millennials don’t know a life without it. This is what started the change in each generation was the technology generation was different than its predecessor. Their parents didn’t go to war. Where is the baby boomers their parents were World War II veterans that’s why they had to make a distinction between the younger and the older ones life was good for generation Jones. That’s for the term keeping up with the Joneses came from, every generation is different which is why the years are a little bit for the beginning starting with millennials
Those who were born in the first or the last two years of each, each generation are called CUSPERS because they’re on the cusp of both generations, so they have the best of both worlds.

I don't really like how the chick says that people from the 80s to like the 90s early nineties were told that they were everything and to shoot for the stars and all this crap. I did not grow up being told that I was enough or that I could do anything that I wanted to or that I was beautiful that anything like that and a lot of the people that I know which is a good majority of the people that I know weren't told that either if anything we were put down and made to feel like we weren't enough and that we needed to always do more and that we were always doing something wrong and we can always do no matter how good we did

Aren’t most conversations that are “just chatting” riddled with unnecessary comments on a spectrum of inappropriateness? No? Just me and anybody else that has fun in life because we don’t take it super serious because, friend, don’t know if you look outside your safe space but people are dying daily in war zones everywhere with the ACTUAL“inappropriate” people you think are “politically correct” talking “politely” while they give the go ahead to drop the bombs on little kids.
No. You don’t get to be offended by convo lady. You are going to start getting your dose of reality by people that are done with being controlled by language zealots while you pretend how “tolerant” you are to peoples suffering while you take time out of your day to correct speech instead of make a call to your congress person who sent more money to destroy actual human people all over Europe.
Go watch the freaking news and go see what bigots and inappropriateness ACTUALLY looks likes. They are your fellow woke-sters in congress! But they talk pretty. Smh
