    I made these today and they are delicious! Experimented with raisins, taro, and sweet corn. Taro is definitely my favorite, but they're all good. Even my roommate who isn't a bit fan of coconut really liked them!

    Made this today, left out the palm sugar (local market sold a small bag for $14!!) ended up using brown sugar.. still delicious. I think next time I might try and toast the coconut shavings before adding them to the batter, might even try to using only reg flour instead of mixing in rice flour in order to get a crunchier waffle. The flavor though was incredible!

😋😊. Wishing you a very Happy New Year 2017 ...looking forward to many more of your awesome Thai cooking videos. ❣

    It's been decades since I had coconut waffles, I remember eating them as a child too! I recently got some from the Thai Street food vendors out in L.A and now I'm hooked again. Thanks for making this vid, I wanna try to make some of my own.

    I made them today. They came out very good. Just like you said they are not crispy like regular waffle but we loved them. I used my regular waffle iron. I'm going to put the leftovers in the toaster tomorrow for breakfast.

    I jus got my waffle iron n the first recipe to try is this! I used brown sugar instead and the waffle is crisp on the outside while tender n soft on the inside as per what you mentioned! Can’t stop snacking on this! Thanks so much Pai! This recipe is a keeper!

    I feel like crying whenever I see a dairy free recipe, hahaha! I'm allergic to a specific milk protein. If I get in touch with dairy, I end up in the hospital, even through cross-contamination. Thank you so much for this recipe! I always wished I could eat waffles and now I can, thanks to you! YEI! /o/

    I used to eat this like once or twice a year only during the holidays when a distant relative would bring some at the party, so glad I can now make this on my own without having to wait! Ridiculously easy, didn't have a scale to mesure the flour but 75 g is about 1/3 cup. I had some pandam leaves in the fridge which I put into the coconut milk/palm sugar mix, don't know if it gave it much fragrance or not but I thought I'd try it. I also added some leftover taro that I chopped up, so delicious I had to refrain myself from eating all 6 waffles.

      I would use a gluten free flour mix instead, rice flour alone won't give a good texture.

    I don't own a waffle iron (shock! lol), and I don't intend on getting one (lack of storage space mostly). So, my question is: Can I try this recipe using my sandwich maker? (Snack Master, toastie maker, etc)?
    Thanks!

    • @rynerlute2242
      @rynerlute2242 7 лет назад

      GoranMak waffles are a type of pancake.its called a waffle mainly cause of its distinctive shape😂.well you can heat up a skillet or a pan and just pour the batter and cook it until crispy but it will never be the same as using a waffle iron! Well any appliances that is non stick is fine😉😁👍👍

    • @GoranMak
      @GoranMak 7 лет назад

    They are great and exactly the style we use to have them in Germany :-)
    For all german fans: it does not work with flour type 405 since it contains too little gluten! So the waffles will break apart. Do use flour type 550 instead!
