Congrats on the win. My son rode shotgun in the class winning 5/16 Baja Bug of Mark Winston. Part of a group of racers that hang together and the Slettens are part of. Slettens are long time friends. Wish now that I had hooked into one of the teams for this weekend's MORE race at Glen Helen. Dennis wanted to talk to me about some future stuff for Class 11s. But we'll catch up later. I'm glad you took my son's advice he gave when you started talking about the Slug Shark in your various video formats and he suggested you look up the Sletten's and 11 Brothers Motorsports. It seems to have worked out well for all concerned. Shred on!

Oh man I really miss the pre race fun around the pit. Our club used to race in the Pacific Northwest 4WD Assoc. in the Jeep class. Watching your video was so good. Maybe I can talk a bunch of my grey haired friends to start up again. Thanks Blake

According to the SCORE Rule Book, Supers are not class 11 legal. Plus, I think the MacPherson Strut front ends are just not very sturdy compared to the torsion tube/trailing link of the standard Beetle. The classic book "Baja Bugs and Buggies: How to Prepare VW Based Cars for Offroad Fun and Racing" recommends steering far clear of the supers. Any Baja kits for them are purely for the aesthetics
@@davidmaloney6956 thanks for the info. I wasn't sure. I was leaning to. Older bug but have found a ton of super ones. I appreciate you knowledge. It helps and clears up a lot. Especially about the front end. I assumed they all were interchangeable. Thanks again. Tee

@@sweettee3647 One more thing - 1969 (like Blake has was the first year for the four link, independent rear suspension. Earlier cars had swing axle rears that had radical camber changes throughout their suspension travel. 11 Bros. are running a swing axle car with good results, but it seems as thought the IRS cars are more preferred these days and have more parts support. Also, I think they went from the single port to dual port engines in 70 or 71 which would be the desired head set up... in case you are looking at complete cars... lots to learn!
