Wife & I love your channel! She is from CAN THO and got out in 74. Has been back a few times to help her mother. Have you ever thought of going to Can Tho as it is the largest city in the Delta. I served in the Navy there in 71-73.

Món Việt ngon nhất là Chả giò chiên, bánh xèo. Trái cây thì: mãng cầu dai (Na).
Các loại Mắm mình cũng không ăn nhưng những món làm từ mắm như Bún nước lèo, Bún mắm, mắm chưng thịt hột vịt thì tuyệt vời.

I was there in 2019. Last trip before COVID hit us all! Great to see Saigon alive again 👍🏻👍🏻.. I thought @chris left Vietnam? My favourite food is everything. Too much to say just one. Spring rolls, rice papers, pho, hu tieu, bun bo hue, bun Rieu, banh seo, mam, frogs fried with lemongrass, all the banh beo’s, all the fruits even the stinky durian. All the desserts 🍮. DID I SAY I LOOOOVE Vietnamese FOOD YET? 🤪😜😝😛😘🥰😍

My family used to live on this street in the early '80 near Huu Nghi hotel and the four faced clock tower. It changed so much since then.

I love way too many Vietnamese dishes, but to name a few I love: banh cuon, com tam, bun thit nuong, bun bo Hue, pho, banh xeo, chia gio (traditionally eaten with all the veggies and herbs), etc. If I had to choose food from another ethnic group/region/country, I'd go with Middle Eastern or Arabic foods. But yeah, you cannot lose with Japan or the Mediterranean types of foods.
So many good choices out there!
@@phucmapvlog For sure...and never mind the typical Viet home meals like the caramelized dishes (pork belly/riblets, chicken, fish, shrimp...). Or canh chua (both the fish and the pork riblet version with the mustard greens). Then there's the fried fish in tomato sauce....so many out there!
One of my favourite food of VN you missed ( as most other bloggers) is 'Bò nhúng dấm (và Cá Lốc nướng trui) chấm mắm Nêm, cuốn bánh tráng'. Try it if you haven't. It's a distinct Fondue of VN, eaten mostly in the South. Don't forget to drink beer 33 while eating it.
My wife used to own a restaurant. I tried it there, but never made a video on it

When I do "facetime" from the US to my friends in Hanoi. They tell me that My Vietnamese is near perfect (well perfect for the little I know) but here in the US when I speak Vietnamese they say that they don't not understand me. What do you think is the difference from North and South that much???

How did those guys enter Vietnam or have they been in Vietnam since before covid ? Also great video, my favourite is always just listening to you speak Vietnamese, sounds cool.
They were there before covid. Phuc Map was actually in the US visiting family but made it back to Vietnam before it locked down. Some of the guys like Dustin have been there for like 7 years or so.

I used to be the same as you. I could not eat sau rieng. But something happened to me during the pandemic. Maybe I actually got covid as I did have symptems back in Feburaray of 2020. Any way. Now Sau Rieng smells good and taste good to me. OMG. Even Koh Muc Love your vlog.
I'm sure if I lost my sense of taste/smell, I could enjoy it. In all honesty though, I've had 2 occasions where I've enjoyed the taste, but never the smell
it might just be age related or having been married for so long. Sau rieng smells sweet but taste like cheesy bacon. I know that is bonkers. And I can eat mam nem. Which is pretty strong also. Either way I am happy and makes my friends laugh which makes me happy. Believe me. In your future. Durian will taste good. But even for me I can only eat a little. It taste good but it is so rich I can only eat a little bit. Take care bro
