Jeff and Chris. Peanut butter and jelly. Hot and cold. Black and white. Ebony and ivory. Chocolate and vanilla. These two just go together perfectly. Such awesome guitar players!!!
@@deanmlshredder Saw Jag Panzer at this very venue in the early 2000's. Iced Earth, In Flames, and Jag Panzer was the bill. First time I had heard of them but Chris and The Tyrant were friggin' amazing. Iced Earth only let them play maybe 40 minutes. Jag Panzer blew those other two bands away.
I love Jeff Loomis, and I'm not knocking him at all, but Chris Broderick shows that he is the better player here. Faster and cleaner throughout, with better technique.
wtf. broderick slops over so much shit man. i love chris but i cringed. now i think some of the sound quality may have had to do with the positioning of the recorder, but jeff was way more on point.
Jeff Loomis plays with more feel and writes better music than Chris "Robot-man" Broderick. You think Chris is better, explain "Super Collider". By the way, bronies suck.
Just like eveyone here has aleady said, Loomis is much better, more feeling and better technique...and most importan, more musicality. I think he's the heir of what Jason Becker and Yngwie Malmsteen were doing around the 80s ands early 90s, taking it to a new and more extreme level, and I´m not referring about technique here, but musicality, due to his djent kinda style.
Yesss. Same opinion... Btw, Jeff is so good, talented and all but when you look at the techniques(multi-finger tapping, sweep tapping, sweep picking, string skipping etc...), style, talent, profession... Of Chris, he definitely wins. Really I'm not kidding becouse i have respect for Jeff but when it comes to music Chris does it better!
jeff loomis was almost in Megadeth to, he auditioned but he was only 16 so they said he was too young but he would make a great guitarist one day... and Dave Knows ALL!
Imagine if MAB, Yngwie, Becker, Broderick, Loomis, Vai, Rolly, Friedman, Kiko, Gilbert, and a few others did this at once. IMO it would melt the Earth.
haha, i love their stage act. I remember how jeff said Chris is like a brother to him, they fit well in Nevermore even Broderick was only on live shows.
Jeff Loomis and Chris Broderick best of combination in a modern metal era. Best way to describe Nevermore, its a mixture of Darkness and classical as one.
@tastytasters but what about Steve Vai, or Joe that play guitar solos that use melodic phrasing while implementing incredible speed. Like Randy Roads did with Mr.Crowley solo incredible solo implementing speed and melodic lines while he highlights chord progressions and the use of multiple tecniques like tremolo and acending legato phrase. What do you think would best in a shred contest. A melodic shred line from Paul Gilbert or Zackk Wilde, or intense speed from a solo like Full Force from MAB?
@gmanhell94 That was the first time. When Marty left a couple years back Megadeth offered him the position again. He was like 16 when he first auditioned.
Loomis sounds more aggressive. It's straight in your face. Chris sounds very quiet. His lick attack is weak. The choice of notes isn't as interesting. And also Loomis writes better music and his sweeps are what he's known for.
@@chrisking6695 yea. Chris is all about scales. The rest is just flashy techniques. Jeff on the other hand is more on phrasing and composition, also known as creativity. He knows what to do with the techniques he got.
Yeah! "Jet To Jet" it's from the "No Parole From Rock 'n' Roll" album. With mr. Yngwie Malmsteen on the guitar, and Graham Bonnet on vocals. Alcatrazz rocks!!
@jacobcallen423 yea he made all the endgame solos but still, check out the jeff loomis zero order phase album. its trully amazing and a piece of art envolving pure shredding and originality. i have never seen something like it
These guys know their shit, and then some. I got tired of Joe stump and yngwie, but went back and listened to some of their stuff after hearing these guys. Same for MF and Jason Becker. I then appreciated them more. Because It would be nice if new shredders out there could apply the skills they have to song writing rather than all out shredding in a few solos here and there. Loomis' album is a small step in this direction, but more is needed....
and a portal didn't open???
made my day xD
Not a portal.. a Stargate my dude
this comment makes this movie 2 times better
:*
😂😂😂😂
What you just said💥😅😅😅
Legitimately surprised the stage didn't catch fire when they started soloing together.
Jeff loomis sounds the cleanest sound ever of all time even in fast solos, cannot believe how... IMO
he easily is a goat
It's his sharpy pick. Try one.
Did this remind anyone else of when Jason Becker and Marty Friedman used to do this with Cacophony?
Devin Hull I'm agree with you :)
Devin Hull Both of them are big fans of Jason Becker
Chris gave Jason a signed guitar for an auction and Jeff has a cover on youtube
jovany69 I know. It was because of Jeff that Marty auditioned for Megadeth.
Jason was too superior to Marty, that was very far from balance guitar duet, in simple words, it's was not a big deal if cacophony only had Jason.
+Dhika Yudha Perdana marty has better phrase in his music and solos though....
14 years later and this video still makes me as excited as the first time I saw it.
Time for another round
Man I wish I could have seen a Nevermore gig.... sigh.. RIP Warrel
16 years later and I still watch this video
Jeff and Chris. Peanut butter and jelly. Hot and cold. Black and white. Ebony and ivory. Chocolate and vanilla. These two just go together perfectly. Such awesome guitar players!!!
But who is the chocolate and the vanilla?
@@jaysonfoy4486 judging by hair, Broderick is chocolate and Loomis is Vanilla
I got to see them together with nevermore in melbourne aUs back in the day
These guys should do Cacophony 2.0 in honor of Jason Becker.
Yes please!
Still this!
Damn right!
Especially now with Jasons recent health struggles
This is what would happen if Skwisgaar and Toki could get along.
and if toki could do a solo, dont you remember the abused guitar player? he went glam
as skwisgaar would say, I am a lot more gooders than you are
Id love to see Loomis in Megadeth
Unfortunately , Chris letf Megadeth :(
João Santos 4 that i said.
+Von Dimebag Jeff was asked he said no.
+Von Dimebag two best friends are going to tell each other what to exspect.chris cares too much about jeff.
Jeff Audtioned for Megadeth back when he was 16 or so, only reason they denied him was that of his young age at the time.
I vote for Loomis
Yessir!
They are who I think of first when I recall metal guitar soloists
the only difference between is their hair colour
YES PLAYING JET TO JET BY ALCATRAZZ! 1:40
Those were the days
I remember this video from back in the day and I'm glad it's still on here
Wow, I wish I could have seen that live. Two amazing shredders. Simply amazing.
Had to watch Yngwie for a palette cleanser.
jeff loomis is the God of Guitar
The very first video I ever saw on RUclips...AWESOME!!!...🤘🤙😎😎😎
Man I remember watching this video way back in my teens.
Jeff = Musical
Chris = technical
both are great player anyways
I like the part where they went "Wa-be-dee-wa-be-dee wooooowwwhhh."
so sad to see the talent of Chris wasted with super collider...
And now Jeff in Arch Enemy.. at least Chris wrote some shreddy solos for Endgame
You wanna hear brodrick go off? Listen to Jag Panzer. Scary shit. Corny ass power metal at it's finest.

Jeff Loomis did a solo on Deep by Hannes Grossman... you want to hear some good metal listen to that shit.
@@deanmlshredder whos brodrick?
Is the singer wearing a Dethklok t-shirt at about 2:30?
This is like watching clash of the titans.
Two of the greatest shredders in the same band. Amazing.
I was there & it ruled.
Not quite on my level but cool:)
Respect to both! I love Chris!
Imagine if he uses "Chaos Theory" or "Betcha Can't Play This"...
Bro...
oh wow,,,, i would loved to have been there for that!!
i know this is super old but holy shit yeaH. That harmony towards the end... so sweet.
Jet to Jet
Jeff is in a league above everyone else.
Chris was more insane in this tho...
Jeff is a better composer
Chris is more technical
jeff loomis to me is more of an "in the box" kind of player when compared to chris.
glad im not there live. i think my head would explode from the amazingness
When they started playing together I thought the video was going to explode
I love Jeff Loomis, and I'm not knocking him at all, but Chris Broderick shows that he is the better player here. Faster and cleaner throughout, with better technique.
wtf. broderick slops over so much shit man. i love chris but i cringed. now i think some of the sound quality may have had to do with the positioning of the recorder, but jeff was way more on point.
I love them both, but being objective, Chris has better and more developed technique, but in terms of musicality, and composition, Jeff wins
Jeff Loomis plays with more feel and writes better music than Chris "Robot-man" Broderick. You think Chris is better, explain "Super Collider". By the way, bronies suck.

Loomis Broderick and Friedman ,,, the 3 musketeers !!
Don't forget Jason!
***** MAB..??FUck No..!
+Marcos Vinícius please don't associate these legends with that shit fucking movie.
unless you mean the Jessica alba version.. then carry on.
Happy Birthday, Chris Broderick!!
I would have killed to be at that gig! Favourite guitarist = Broderick and Loomis.
I miss this band
I love how the beginning of Jeff's first solo sounds like a car engine revving! So badass!
1:50sounds like ArchEnemy
It's Yngwie Malmsteen.
Alcatraz
Can I request Paul Gilbert to join this guitar battle?
+RossBayCult can i ask marty friedman join this guitar battle? or David Davidson?
+Rafael Tsahouridis That's beyond unfair
Yes that part they are playing in harmony is from an Alkatrazz song called Jet To Jet.
Its very fun play the guitar inmediatly after to watch this
Jeff Loomis is better, sorry.
Close, but Loomis wins.
+tylor caruth Chris is far more skilled than Jeff. I idolize both, but it's the truth.
+Hannah Aych are you deaf?!
Steven Lopez
It's Chris all day. It will always be Chris. Pls.
+Hannah Aych listen to how fucking clean Jeff is playing those riffs. do you even play guitar????
Yes. I've played for 12 years.
You're getting way too upset about this.
Chris is still a better guitarist.
A moment marked in history
This shit actually made me cry. That was beautiful.
jeff loomis was almost in Megadeth to, he auditioned but he was only 16 so they said he was too young but he would make a great guitarist one day... and Dave Knows ALL!
Love the Jet to Jet bit they do at the end.
Its a part played by Yngwie. Its from the interlude of Jet to Jet.
I witnessed this! \m/ the day I fell in love with Jeff
Chris Broderick and Jeff Loomis are two somewhat similar players and sure make a fantastic pairing.
Everyone seems to buzz over Loomis so much but his playing bores me to fucking tears man
2 of the very best.
Jeff's secend solo album does have a a kickass guest solo from Marty, but I agree that it would be awesome if they collaborated more.
1:22 favorite piece
I cannot even comprehend what is happening at 1:40...epic.
well i can honestly say both of them are Gods of 7 string guitars
Imagine if MAB, Yngwie, Becker, Broderick, Loomis, Vai, Rolly, Friedman, Kiko, Gilbert, and a few others did this at once. IMO it would melt the Earth.
Damn, I wish I would have seen them live! just once
wow i wonder what it feels like to be able to play like that when ever you want just for the fun of it
AWESOME!!!!
Not sure about 0:20, but 1:40 is the alternate picking lead from Jet to Jet by Alcatrazz
i love the newer forms of metal but none of them can just do these things like these guys do
the best line up in the world
haha, i love their stage act. I remember how jeff said Chris is like a brother to him, they fit well in Nevermore even Broderick was only on live shows.
Amazing shredding by two of Nevermore's...former guitarists. *Cries*
I had the same initial response when I first started listening to Nevermore. A lot of their songs take a few listens to get into...
Excellent :-) ROCK ON!!!!!!!
I’ll never see in my live 2 guitarrists like Dis 2 ..they are fucking beating

These 2 in one band = good music
@senojnomis no you counted the third run twice. thee were actually only 6,789,986,233,112

why is it that when loomis plays everybody shouts but when brodericks turn they're in silence?
