I'm so glad that I hopped on the 'Farewell Blues train' and decided to stay on; I sure am enjoying every second of the ride ! Great musicians, each and everyone of you guys !!!
nice to see Evan Christopher playing great jazz , I saw you at FQF in April 2009 when I brought my son with me on holiday. Keep on making good jazz Evan, thanks
Hiya, well Evan I doubt I can afford to come to New Orleans again, as the last trip with me and my son cost about $2100 on credit card and as I am a pensioner money is always short; but if I win some cash on a competition I might come over. this will only be after I go to Seychelles with my ex-wife and Alan, because my ex-wife wants to go to her home country to see if she can find any relatives. I shall be watching on RUclips for any new clips you have put online, take care and do keep on making great jazz.
I miei complimenti. c.castellano,Italia .......... what a beautiful rhythm, what a swing, that bewitching, and frenetic, fantastic and overwhelming one, which captures your body, soul and mind in a river of endless emotions !! Beautiful, fantastic, spectacular the skill of all the orchestras, excellent their performance that deserves a hurricane of applause! But what good, really good !! My compliments. c.castellano, Italy
Guillaume Nouaux i love you !! I love all off the guys here but in this video i love Guillaume the most :) wow what a solo !! and im a clarinet player ... hahahahaha
Gran baterista! por lo general los bateristas de grupos de jazz que he escuchado tocan 0 jazz mientras sus compañeros hacen el intento. Deseo escuchar algo así en vivo un día no lejano.
Not real wild about this guys intonation, but he makes up for it in some great runs and different sounds he gets out of the clarinet. Best intonation was the one and only Pete Fountain. I've played clarinet for 56 years, so I can make these comments...lolll
Hoyt Bullock Evan’s straight up tone is endemic of the New Orleans style, and also playing an Albert system clarinet will result in some inconsistencies unless you’re a German... they live on the öehler system.
tu es battu mon vieux : 66 ans de tuyau pour moi ( clarinette + sax soprano) et je joue TOUJOURS de une à deux heures par jour....C'est nécessaire à 79 ans si on ne veut pas perdre tout ce qu'on a appris.........
Intonation in my book means tuning, and he isn’t playing out of tune at all. If you mean his ‘timbre or tone “ it changes because jazz clarinettists from New Orleans use bends and blue notes all the time. Pete Fountain was an exception he used a straighter tone and was a clarinet player whose tone Goodman admired.
