I'm hoping once I have a daughter to call her Lilah-just another spelling...you could always use Nyx in this list too(I'm using it for a middle name)-Greek Goddess of the Night!
My husband and I love names that end in an ‘ie’. We’re having a daughter in a few months called Sylvaine, but we plan on calling her Sylvie for the most part. There’s just something so sweet about the way an ‘ie’ name sounds.
In South Africa we usually spell Thandi without the E, and its pronounced a bit differently. We say 'taan-dee', with a longer softer 'a' sound (rather than sounding like the word 'and'). So happy to see a South African name on the list though! Would love to you to do a list of them, since we have so many different languages to draw our names from xx
For the record, I’m actually starting to see Melanie pop up recently and it surprised me. My name hasn’t been that popular since the 70s and it’s rare to see another Melanie. Also, I actually love my name... It’s very feminine, but strong.
I feel so seen! I'm Bridie to most, but my real name is Bridget. From what I've read, Bridie has Gaelic origins and means 'strength', which is a lovely nod to my Irish heritage. Great video, as always. Xx
My mouth literally fell open when when you said Foxlie! LOVE IT! Weird video idea, I would love to see a video where you go through the most popular surnames and choose a first names (and maybe even middle names) you think goes best with it.
I'm surprised I like Foxlie though I might prefer the spelling Foxley....Here are some others that weren't mentioned that might be fun: Berkelie Bernie Cassie Claudie Darcie Delanie Essie Fernie Genie Hollie Kazumie Lottie Marcie Millie Norie Omrie Oslie Reverie Romillie Rosemarie Stevie Valerie
I’m soooo into the -ie endings for girls! I especially love taking names more commonly used for boys and changing a -y ending to -ie to make it a bit girlier. For example Bradie, Davie, Andie, Codie
Ooh loved the Navie/Navy idea. Hubby was in the Navy so maybe a little on the nose but I do love it x What about backwards/mixed words making a name. Like Enola - Alone (Netflix)
In Canada, we use the word prairie a lot! 😂 But, meadow is sort of poetic, so I don’t think that word is often used. Backwards to the UK, I guess! 🤷♀️
I love your jacket! I also feel like your extra happy in this video - I mean, you're always happy, but you're absolutely glowing and give positive vibes and just happiness, which you always do, but I feel like it's more in this video - a golden aura. Whatever it is, I love your energy lol Maybe it's just that I have 0 left and need about 10 years of sleep 😂
I've had to make a running comment 😊 love this nice long video We could never do Prairie since we live in Manitoba 😬 but it is cute Euphemia/Eufemia is a name in my family 💕 pronounced "you-FEE-mee-ah" which is originally Greek :) we got it from our Italian side. Thinking of using it as a future middle name with Florence Sadie is a traditional nickname for Sarah 😊 I keep looking for our top girl name on these lists and i dont see it... 👀 I'll keep my eye out
Effie is very cute! Little fact: in Greece Effie is a common nickname for various names with great meanings like happiness, pleasant speech, joyfulness.
Navie/Navy is so cute! I also like it spelled Navvy/Naivvy. I think that is super unique and pretty. Also can you do a unique boys name list? I need some bc I have so many girls names😂
EmeraldCanary13 as someone whose real name is a “trendy” variant on a regular name, I’d honestly warn away from the more “bizarre” spelling variants. It’ll cause your kid constant problems and headaches!
I love the show Supernatural and the main actors have chosen unusual names for their kids. West (boy) Mason (girl) Justice Jay (called JJ, J bird, Birdie for short, girl) Arrow (girl) Zeppelin (boy) Thomas, Shepherd (Shep for short, boy) and Odette
Found out I’m pregnant on Monday last week for my second baby so can’t wait love watching your channel given me lots of inspiration for baby names over the years I think at the moment we like Adalynn for a girl as I have a elsie already and for a boy we like Rexton xxx
Elodie was my secret favourite for so long (and now it’s so popular) kind of sad but also I don’t blame everyone - it’s so gorgeous and soft sounding! I absolutely love Reverie and Effie too 😍
oh my goodness, i can’t believe that you included “navie” on this list! “navy” has been my secret hidden gem name for so long, but thankfully i want to use it for a little boy, so hopefully it doesn’t get too popular
I'm worried it's getting more popular too lol I think it's getting way more buzz for girls but I definitely like it for either even though it's on my girl list.
Loving the names!!! I needed the inspiration as I’m having twin girls!!! Super excited, we already have a 4 year old daughter Hallie and the names we are going for are Darcie and Amelie. 💕
I feel like my grandparents were way ahead of the trends 😂 my dad and his siblings are named Perry, Wendy, Monte, and Tommy. I also have a grandma Winnie and a (male) cousin named Story.
I think the popularity of Effie probably has a lot to do with 'The hunger games' book and movie series, the character responsible for going from district to district to choose the competitors for the games is called Effie. Sadie was traditionally a short form of Sarah
Effie from the Hunger Games probably! Marnie from "When Marnie was Here", the recent Ghibli Film. My best friend is Emilie - very popular here in Quebec!
I love the name "Howie" for a boy (long form: Howard). I would probably go for the long form because I also love the nickname "Ward". Feels very dignified and can grow with the baby from childhood to adulthood!
Howard okay What about Edwin Wynter Winnie/Wynnie My favorite it Paiyten Boy name I love Jaxx or Eli like Jaxx Eli or Jaxx Levi lol just my taste in names but I like howard
Hey there SJ! So I paint & collect realistic therapy dolls! I saved the very first one I ever painted and named her Cambrie Rose, I thought it would also fit on this sweet list you made!
One of my favorite movies is You’ve got Mail with Tom Hanks and Meg (😍) Ryan. In it is a woman named Birdie, I’ve always loved her name, I think it would be such a cute nickname for a young lady named Bridgette!
My name is Jeanie. I was named after my Grandmother who was born in Edinburgh in 1892. I’ve only ever met one other Jeanie in my life, it’s a very rare name in Australia. If you like it maybe you can bring it back into fashion. 🤗 I love tuning in to your lists, it’s fun.
Ahh I staged a protest when I was pregnant because I wanted the name Jovie so much 😂 my partner said no and we went with Beau Juliet and call her Bowie which I love. Maybe next time 😎 x
This was a great video! I loved them all. My middle name is Capri, after the island. But I think the -ie ending really gives it a nice twist. Caprie takes my top spot for favorite💜💜
Immediately paused the video and opened my notes app to add Navie to the list for our next little baby. I think it is stunning. Now just to get my partner to agree x
Names ending in ie are my absolute favourites! My cats are named Trixie and Alfie and my favourite Sim right now is called Skylie 😁 Love your jacket by the way!!
My full name is Mackenzie, but I've always been called Macie. Most people are thrown off by the ie ending, or they end up accidentally calling me Marcie
@@eilasorjane1154 funnily enough I'm the same age so I'd be one of those Stephanie's hahaha! Yeah, it is dying out :( I hope it makes a comeback because I do think its a lovely name, and even looks nice written down x
@@stephrooney6844 haha there you go! Early 90s was the time for Stephanies! You're right, it is a lovely name. Mine is Rose so there definitely aren't many of us around these days lol
Names go in rotations so I bet when your kids are looking for baby names or their grand children Stephanie will be popular again! I always loved the name Stephanie when I was younger
I love ie names! But I prefer them as nicknames personally because I love long names. Stevie, Frankie, Danie, Freddie, Eddie and Winnie are some of my favorites. What's so good about them is they can be unisex!
You’ve mentioned so many alternatives to the very popular Amelia but I haven’t heard Amalia on one of your lists before. It’s more common in Spanish speaking countries now but is of Germanic origin. It’s one of my favorite girl names ever
Thank you for doing this cuz I've been waiting for a video I've been waiting for so long for a video like this because the way my name is spelt I've always wanted to keep the tradition with a K and the IE ending
My name is Allison Jeanette, but my dad calls me Allie Jean, which I love
Lovely 💖✨💫
loving the longer lists !!! xx
I thought I’d mix it up! Was a long video though 😅😅😅🥰🥰🥰
My daughter is due any day now, her name is Elsie Justine. My husband named her. Elsie is the Scottish version of Elizabeth.
Love love love Elsie!
Awwww I absolutely adore the name Elspeth and Elsie is so lovely! Congratulations!
That is PRECIOUS. I have always loved Justine as well & don’t hear it often
Elspeth is actually the Scottish version of Elizabeth and Elsie is a nickname for it 😉
Elsie is a beautiful name 😍
Elodie is such a beautiful name!

Names ending in ie are my absolute favourites! My cats are named Trixie and Alfie and my favourite Sim right now is called Skylie 😁 Love your jacket by the way!!
Bridie & Prairie are two of my favorites ♥️
I think I suggested this a week or so ago but I'd love to see a list of Cornish names! There are so many lovely ones!
I'm Harriet but nicknamed Hattie which I think is really pretty! I really would love to see a welsh name list !
Love this! It’s one of our top contenders for our little girl 😍
Emilie with that spelling is my favorite spelling of the name Emily.
I've always loved spelling Carrie as Kerrie. Gives it a little something unique!
Wouldn’t people pronounce it as “Kerry” then?
Mint They’re said the same way...
Rosalie is my favorite!
Hey :D I'm feeling represented. Léonie = lioness 🤗
Yes lioness!!! 🧡🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
My daughter was born in 2019 and is Winnifred Snow. We call her almost exclusively Winnie.
My full name is Mackenzie, but I've always been called Macie. Most people are thrown off by the ie ending, or they end up accidentally calling me Marcie
My name ends with an "ie" - Stephanie.. I feel like its a name that has died or is dying out. I used to hate it, but I've grown to love my name now x
I'm 27 and grew up with about 6 Stephanies. Don't hear it used these days though
So true, you really don't hear it much these days hey! I have an Aunt Stephanie so I think it's lovely :-)
Connie is my favorite, it was my grandma's name. She was a Constance but never went by it.
My favourite from this list is Vallie. So cute :)
I love Stevie and Frankie, Amy/Aimie, Bridie and Elodie is becoming real popular and I love it!
