I'm "only" 53, but I can't for the life of me understand why such a funny sitcom failed to be successful and only ran 2 years. I love these clips on YT, and plan to buy the DVD set of seasons 1 and 2. On another note, Yvonne sure was one beautiful woman. She had that "classic" beauty of old Hollywood.
I know ! Every time that I go to work, I ask myself...Why are stupid people always in charge ? But what I really don't understand is...Why do people scream and run away from Lily when she so beautiful ?
@@victorsamuelson3589 Yeah, I've gotta agree you on both accounts. However, Lily really worked for me and I'm glad that it was in B&W. I don't think that a green Lily would have been as appealing to me.
I can u understand being embarrassed at the idea from the start, without knowing where it would go... didn't seem up to her level, but she brought her sophistication to the part rather than the part ruining it, and I cant imagine anyone else playing Lily and the show surviving and sticking around all these years.
Me Too! And I STILL watch The Munsters. I Love It!... My mother said as an infant I never paid attention to the TV except when The Munsters came on. I would watch it wide eyed.. in elementary school when I got home, I remember I'd watch Munster re-runs, and still do..
Was born in ‘62 and Lilly and Herman were fabulous. Loved that show. Yvonne was stunningly beautiful. And as I look back at her acting and movements in her craft, I realize what an absolute treasure she was. We were blessed to have her in our homes and put a smile on our faces. 🌹
This is some good stuff! I love the history of the munsters.. learning stuff we didn't know about.. of course I didn't discover the munsters until the mid 1980s when I was a kid
Yvonne was a beautiful actress when she was alive there's no doubt about that! She is the type of person who is a physical embodiment of age is nothing but a number.
The Munsters was my father's favorite show he would laugh at every episode and I remember as a young girl growing up watching the show with him as an adult I watch them on a comedy TV channel the reruns over and over again never got tired of them
With the right team of writers, The Munsters could be as timeless as SNL. The genre will never be obsolete. Love American Style is another one that could go on forever like a soap opera. Love and Monsters. We'll always be infatuated with both.
I loved watching the Monsters onTV! That was one of my favorite TV shows. In fact I had models of The Munster Mobile and Grand Pa Munster's coffin mobile!
Have you seen the original pilot? There was a different character for Eddie. He was more vicious. It did not test well so the producers changed the actor and the character of Eddie.. Also, Lily was more like Morticia, of The Addams Family, so Yvonne was able to change her approach to the character. That took talent!
The Munsters pilot was very much a satire on life in suburbia, interesting for all ages. Too bad they left that angle, and put Hermann in increasingly outlandish situations, as an apparent attempt to appeal to the kids. That's when the series lost its punch. Still a great show for its one-of-a-kind cast.
Obviously changing it for kids worked since that's when the show became iconic. The Munsters was never meant to be anything bit funny and wholesome. Anyone wants more than that should just stick to Shakespeare or Masterpiece Theater.
I went to a daycare center during the summer when my mom was at work in the 1970s.... We watched the Munsters every day. Yvonne DeCarlo was for sure my first crush! Later it was WOnder WOman... But she will always be second to Lilly Munster!
In ine bio of the shoe, Yvonne told Beverly (pr Pat, don't remember whuch), "don't you DARE ouystegege me". They erred both very sweet ladies and dud not deserve that from the egomaniac, who couldn't afford to lose friends in thr biz!
Yvonne De Carlo.. gave Munsters tv show class.. l share her birthday September 1st with her..thank you for posting.. peace too all
What a stunning, talented actress! Yvonne owned that role.
Totally!
Couldn't agree with you MORE!!! She brought absolute soul into that character..😊♥️
Just like Carolyn Jones as Morticia Addams.

Batman came out in the same time slot and hurt the ratings.

It’s starting to become boring the novelty wore off grandpa was the funniest I mean it was basically a one joke Series

Amen to that... Has anyone noticed that TV shows that lasted only in short duration went on to become cult classics..... SMH.
Yvonne is Lilly nobody can play her but Yvonne :) she kills it!
I always loved her performances on the Munsters and the roles she played in the big movies. Quite a gal
Classic great show one of a kind never to be replicated. Thanks.
BEAUTIFUL WOMAN..
Talented Actress
The Munsters was my first exposure to Yvonne DeCarlo. Over the years, I've seen many of her movies. What a beautiful, talented lady.
We loved Lily and the whole crew. My mom especially loved Grandpa. Great show.

She was great in every role.
One of the best shows ever..😁
I was born in 1964 and I've been in love with Yvonne/Lily my whole life.

A great era of TV. I loved the show
I have always liked Yvonne Decarlo. I love her role in John Wayne's " McClintock!".
I agree! "McClintock" is one of my favorite movies!!
This is some good stuff! I love the history of the munsters.. learning stuff we didn't know about.. of course I didn't discover the munsters until the mid 1980s when I was a kid
I hope (and believe) that Yvonne knew what an iconic and classic role she created for 'The Munsters'. Something she could be MOST proud ot!
Oh she knew alright. They all did once the show hit syndication and was everywhere across the globe .
I have always loved the Munsters this show was amazing👍♥️

I knew she was a beautiful woman when I was eight years old. 👍❤🇺🇸
Yeah Lily was hot especially in that vampire outfit
I loved watching the Monsters onTV! That was one of my favorite TV shows. In fact I had models of The Munster Mobile and Grand Pa Munster's coffin mobile!
my favorite movie that Yvonne de Carlo was in was the ten commandments.
One of those talented and beautiful women that come along once in a while.....a class act!!!!
What a punch Lol, love the show.

Yvonne played the wife of Moses in the Ten Commandments 1956. Great movie.
Absolutely love her. She's still here.
Not everybody will get that reference, but here's a Like from someone who does!
@@duncanjames2117 appreciate you!

Whoever owns one of those lunch boxes is a lucky mo fo
What a great,talented, beautiful lady!❤
The most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my life besides my mother
Mine looked, thought and was from the same time as her. She made my papa a sucess
Nice to know she got the job in her late 40s. She was gorgeous/ timeless.
If funny how Mr. Fate suddenly steps in and changes our lives...
You can tell she took her craft very seriously. They don't make them like that very often.
She was so gorgeous
I loved it we all did. Still do... The new flim won't be as good as the original
Hermosa Ivonne👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Se llamaba como mi tia💖 y en los 10 mandamientos era Sefora, la esposa de Moisés.
She was dam Gorgeous ❤
The girl from East Vancouver Canada left her mark on the world.
One tough cookie.
Just read about Yvonne de carlos career & finding myself somewhat obsessed by her 😜
Is Peter Graves the narrator? (sounds like him from MI)
it is him.....
I KNEW I recognized that voice, but I couldn't place it. It sure SOUNDS like Peter Graves. thank you

Not only a beautiful woman but so strong. Her son is proud of her as he should be.

Vampire Donna Reed! Perfect. God I loved that show. I was only 10.
Simplemente hermosa divina
Beautiful woman
She was great in The Ten Commandments.
Brilliant after all those years: Bless Her, I was born to late?
She was beautiful
Wow! I miss Aunt Lily!
The last movie I saw her in was "Oscar" with Sylvester Stallone, Kirk Douglas, Don Ameche and Tim Curry.
To all ..there’s an Elvira in all of us.
Lily was the original Elvira !!!
Who is the narrator? It sounds like Peter Graves.
❤
Didn't Alexis Smith also star in Follies?

Pretty woman
Great Actress, too bad the show only lasted a couple of Seasons.
Today I think Yvonne was hotter than Marilyn on the Munsters..
To be fair in the show thought Marilyn was hideous lol.
Narrator sounds like James Arness.
It's Peter Graves from Mission Impossible and Captain Clarence Oveur from Airplane.
Yep, his brother. Thanks.
@@azmike3572 That's right. I completely forgot about them being brothers. Heard it way back in my darker hair, skinnier body days.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🕸🕷🎃
Would have loved to be with lily munster, even before I knew who even DeCarlo was.
Gorgeous woman yowza
a good looking lady
Lily in the Munsters was not her best it was for money.
