The problem with Bomberman 1 is that it never had multiplayer to begin with. That feature was introduced in Bomberman 2, and it's such a staple that people forget it wasn't there in the beginning. People like Scott the Woz, apparently.
You're right, but I still can't blame him. Even in 2004 the Bomberman 1 gaming experience wasn't worth even $10.
The multiplayer for Bomberman was actually introduced first in Bomber Boy (aka Atomic Punk in America, and Dynablaster in Europe) for the Game Boy, not in Bomberman 2.

the E Reader has internal memory that only fits one thing without needing to scan new ones, therefore you only need ti scan new cards when you eanna do something else with it

fun fact: Nintendo actually thought fire emblem would sell badly in America due to it being a strategy-heavy game and it would cause players to continuously look at the manual. However, Advance wars for the GBA released in America and did very, very well. To help players it included an in-depth tutorial feature that explained most of what was in the game. This is what inspired Nintendo to finally release fire emblem outside of Japan.
And then they abandoned Advance wars less than a decade later

As a person who wears NES t-shirts, I can confirm, it does make you awkward.
I love how Scott keeps continuity, first there was the Nintendo DS accessories video where he said he wanted more stuff to make thieves look at his house and say "that looks like a fun house to break into" then in the rise and fall of 2D game he was robbed, then in the mobile console games episode he said that since he was robbed he was resorting to mobile games, then in the best selling consoles episode he said he still owned something because he spit on his consoles to make them thief proof and now he is resorting to the bank from "it's a bargain bin Christmas". Like, do I need to say anything about this? It's genius.

Yeah man, I really enjoy his style of quick-firing jokes every minute or so because he's just so damn great at it Everyone watching might not all laugh at the same jokes but everyone is still laughing, regardless! It doesn't hurt that he just comes off as genuinely likable.

My favorite line was the trial episode where Rex was put on a heart monitor and it flatlines but they said lie detector before so it passed on me the first time.
Yea that's what I like about his humor. Not all of his jokes will make everyone laugh, but he doesn't spend too long on a joke so it's not a total pace-killer.

13:41 the thing is, Bomberman on the NES (1985) didn't had the battle mode to begin with. the first game to have it was 1990's Bomber Boy in the original Game Boy. the one Bomberman game on the NES to have the battle mode was Bomberman II (1991). It's not that it was stripped from it, it's just it never had it to begin with, it's a direct port

Have you seen Japan’s Club Nintendo Famicom Classics sets? I am really bummed out that I never did buy those for my collection in the past, I’m sure they would cost an arm and a leg now. Oops, just saw the rest of the video, where he showed them.
Man, the disparity between Japanese and North American collectibles will always leave me awe struck. I know why it happens though. Two major contributors in the west are 1. we are obsessed with doing things as cheaply as possible for maximum profit and 2. we have no (majority) cultural respect for animation or video games.

I just finished watching the classic console wishlist from season 1 and he uploads this. Literally perfect timing
You know what was a lost opportunity for this series? Mother 1/Earthbound Beginnings. Hear me out. First off, it was already rereleased in Japan in 2003 on GBA via the Mother 1+2 collection. As such, the game was already on the hardware. Second, a translation of the game was already done. Nintendo had planned for the game to release in North America in 91, and though that release was canceled, the translation was finished. So all they had to do was apply the finished English translation to the GBA port that already existed. This could have helped the Classic NES series by lending it the mystery of a previously never released game outside of Japan and helped Mother 1 by firmly placing it as one of the NES' greats. It also would have given the Classic NES series more variety in the West by offering a full RPG for 20 dollars. This could have led to a port for Earthbound to GBA the following year too.

Also consider that if that did well by 2006 they might have considered bringing mother 3 to North America

The gba version of Mother 1 really sucks, I think even if the idea of releasing that here was on Nintendo’s minds they would not have wanted to give us such a poorly optimized version of the game.

Original Bomberman on NES didn't have multi-player anyway, that was introduced in Bomberman 2 (which would probably have been a much better choice for this collection)

12:15 That actually was my first time playing though Zelda 1! I have good nostalgia for it as a result. I always found a way to watch that awful TV series that summer as well, so it was like I was a real life kid in the late 80s.
Holy hell those Famacom Club Nintendo loyalty rewards are gorgeous. I knew both from experience and Scott's video on it that the west didn't get nearly as much as the east did, but this really puts it into perspective!

Honestly, Mappy should've brought here in the US. Mappy is so much fun and is overall a really great game, such a shame it's only in Japan as usual for the Famicom classic series in GBA.

You also forgot that many of these were available with Animal Crossing... and you could even download them to your GBA and play them there! Exact same versions and everything, but released a full 3 years before the Classic NES line.
This is one of the reasons I imported the American version of animal crossing 🥰🥰 EU version removed them completely

@@HUYI1 My german copy of Animal Crossing has NES games, though. Or do you just mean the feature of downloading to GBA? Because I am not sure if that's on there, but there are definitely NES games. I remember them blowing my mind back in the day.
I was raised on NES and I never saw a cart of Xevious or Ice Climber in my life, and when I played them later in life I was sure glad I missed them.
