Both were hated by their entire village and feared because of the beasts inside them, Naruto had no parents and sort of raised himself whereas gaara did have someone he cared about, but killed him because his own father sent him to kill gaara. Both were full of sadness and both could've been absolutely disastrous had they decided to go down a different path like Sasuke did. They are a great duo because they truly understand what loneliness is like. The closest thing that Sasuke has in common is his brother killed his clan.
