Who said they were underrated? They were massive and they influenced so many bands who became famous in their own right. You may have heard some of the names of the members - JEFF BECK, JIMMY PAGE, ERIC CLAPTON, all of whom made the Top 5 of Rolling Stones Magazine's list of the 100 greatest guitarists. Their hits included HEART FULL OF SOUL, FOR YOUR LOVE, SHAPES OF THINGS, They were inducted into the Hall of Fame in the 1990s. Underrated my A$$
What was it that Lou Gehrig said; "I am the LUCKIEST man on earth?" Well, I was born in 1951, got to watch those great baseball players of that time, got to ride in a lot of those COOL CARS back then (my dad was a Car salesman), and...I was given the treasured pleasure of being RIGHT THERE when these tunes were on the radio. I was raised the way a boy SHOULD be raised, and I thank GOD for it!
Yup....no one here gets out alive. That song reminds me of winter...coming back from school, waiting for the bus, freezing my butt, smoking my first cigarettes. Fuck that went by fast 😎
The Yardbirds were the 1960s most-visionary band - and in their re-imagined version - Led Zeppelin, the vision continued into the '70s. They showcased the guitar prowess of Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page - and were an adventure in mucic experimentation, the likes of which we may never witness again.
DAMN!!!! We really didn't realize how good we had it back then when it came to great music and great guitarists. If you would have told me back then that 2020 would bring the shit we have now, I would have laughed and called you crazy! LOL!! It was like if someone told us that in 2020 there would be no women, (to speak of) in miniskirts, but ripped jeans and covered with tattoos! Once again we would have looked at you like you were crazy, man. We teens from the 1960s got spoiled. Every song on the radio was our favorite.
Keith Relf was an underrated frontman. Interesting seeing him in 1965 with the shades and the Beatles style haircut and sunglasses. 3 years later, we see him with a similar hairstyle and a mustache. He had a unique baritone. Jim McCarty is a great drummer and Chris Dreja a great rhythm guitarist. Paul Samswell Smith was a great bass player who went into producing. And of course, it seems Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page were the stars!

What a great band they were in such an early time. I loved it at 13 and I love it at 71.
❤️👑👑👑👑👑💯
👍
Man this music still will kick your ass. Thanks for 50 yrs of memories, I was 4 when this song came out. R.I.P. jeff. See you in the great gig in the sky.
One of my most favorite songs of all time. Then and now!
Rest in peace to the amazing, timeless, guitar god Jeff Beck. The world lost another all time great.
One of the most underrated pop groups of the 1960's
Pop? Not pop. Herman's Hermits was pop
Not if you were there !
Underrated my A$$
What was it that Lou Gehrig said; "I am the LUCKIEST
man on earth?" Well, I was born in 1951, got to watch
those great baseball players of that time, got to ride in
a lot of those COOL CARS back then (my dad was a Car
salesman), and...I was given the treasured pleasure of
being RIGHT THERE when these tunes were on the radio.
I was raised the way a boy SHOULD be raised, and I thank
GOD for it!
@Mark Hill AWWRIGHT!!!
A phenomenal band!!!
Great classic Yard Birds song from 1965. Brings back fond memories.😀 R.I.P. Jeff and Relf.
Makes me sad the 60s are getting further and further away
This is why RUclips exists. It helps our memory
What did you expect when you read in 1966 "Brave New World" and "1984" ? "Not "Love is All You Need" !
They r ! lol loved this song as a kid. still sounds great how many years later lol..
@@marysweeney7370 The 60's Music is and always will b awesome !
Yup....no one here gets out alive.
That song reminds me of winter...coming back from school, waiting for the bus, freezing my butt, smoking my first cigarettes. Fuck that went by fast 😎
Like it immensely
This was a great band all the way around and really paved the way for other blues bands. Especially Zeppelin and Page
Two of the best guitar players ever - wow!
That's why I said we really didn't know how good we had it! How could we? Being young and not knowing what the future was going to bring?
The Yardbirds were the 1960s most-visionary band - and in their re-imagined version - Led Zeppelin, the vision continued into the '70s. They showcased the guitar prowess of Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page - and were an adventure in mucic experimentation, the likes of which we may never witness again.
Very good comment, they were so very good and wonderful to see this even though I have the vinyl.
They were Genius!❤️
I tell my wife and everyone the 1960's were the greatest groups, talent that, ever was. The music 🎶 today is junk no talent.
@Dwight Hobbes Yes, John Mayall's revolving groups too.
Yeah, we did.
@@gweng.9159 We got spoiled rotten! LOL!!
@@felixmadison5736So lucky that we were at the right place at the right time in history.
So, you were a big Englebert Humperdiink fan, were you...?
@@2ridiculous41 The Dink wasn't bad, but he was more for our parents and grandparents than for us kids!! LOL!
Classic RIP Jeff Beck
Great seeing Page and Beck playing together! Love the loud snare!
This song never gets old
Absolutely great timeless classic
We were witnesses to history!
Still rocking.
Wanderful Group, full of many of the GREATEST guitarists of Rock History...!!!...
I’m 72 and remember this group. Loved them. ❤️🌹
Wow, what a classic song this is. These guys were as cool as hell.
I always loved their music. Great time to be a teenager.
Jimmy, Jeff & the rest of the band...sounding & looking ever so hip!
XO GENTLEMAN..!
💋
Those were the days guys and gals.
It was Glen Beck, Jimmy was just having fun.
Glen Beck! 😂😂
The legendary Jimmy Page, giving a glimpse of his future brilliance. This song is the epitome of British blues-rock.
Greetings from Arkansas I was born in 1965 but remember hearing this on the tv and radio most of my life not until recently I did not know Jimmy Page was in the Yard birds Lynerd Skynerd was influenced by this music God bless you and yours
Technically, this is all Jeff Beck playing. Page joined the band well after the recording, and probably did not enjoy "miming" to Beck's playing.
Sunshine of your love is better
@@pessational that was Cream wasnt it, not the Yardbirds
Yardbirds as awesome as any band can possibly get !!
The lead vocalist Keith Relf, the driving wheel of the Yardbirds, had a tragic ending in the early 70s. He hardly gets mentioned these days.. R.I.P.
Ditto !
Unless you are very famous, most people are forgotten two generations after they die. Even sooner if they die young.
Yeah. Electrocuted by an ungrounded guitar. Sad.
Hi Catherine. You're right.Keith hardly gets mentioned these days.Such a freak million to one accident.
One of greatest bands of all times...
I love the Beatles hair sunglasses look in 60s bands!!! It's gorgeous
