I remember while Tommy was still around, I was a taxi driver in Newport News VA. Listening to him and Ray together made the Saturdays that I worked more pleasant.
Man, this reminds me of roadtrips with my family. We always used to listen to NPR in the car and this was our favorite show. So, my tech savvy brother (don’t drive like him) used to download episodes from their website back when you could still do that (not sure you can now) and burn them to CDs to take with us. We could guess how far we’d travelled by how many episodes we’d listened to. Good times.
As young Millennial from BeanTown Massachusetts i love to hear these fellas voices. Even when I having a bad day I tune in to NPR talk show for these old school Bostonian gents.
My dad listened to this when he took me to little league baseball as a kid. Now I listen to it driving to work at 5 am everyday. Time flies
