I went with a friend once to buy a used car. The salesman directed us over to an old Vega, looked like an earlier model. We asked for a test drive and he agreed. So we got in the car and turned it on, ready to head out. He stepped on the gas and I shit you not his foot went straight through the floor and out the bottom of the car
The Gremmie was a great little car. Likewise the Perambulating INcendiary Traffic Obstacle. I had a friend who had an Aspen, and he left it parked in the roughest neighborhoods with the windows open and the keys in the ignition, and it was never stolen. Was it the three-on-the-tree?
they should have had all of the early Korean offerings on this list like the Hyundai Excel, the day we built Pontiac LeMans, and the first generations of the Hyundai Sonata, Elantra, and scoop also the higher-end Chrysler cake are based models like the Dodge Daytona, laser, Chrysler LeBaron GTS, Dodge Lancer and Chrysler Laser. All electronic nightmares! the rain oh built Eagle premier, Renault Alliance, the Renault encore
Ok, lets see who gets this joke: "What is the definition of bad luck? Approaching a toll booth with a Ford Pinto in front of you and a Audi 5000 behind!"
@Jesse Krill Incorporated, You're close. The Audi 5000 was accused of "unintended acceleration". It turned out the driver hit the accelerator instead of the brake pedal. But the reputation stuck.
I have to admit I had one of these cars and I am embarrassed to say which one! I had a LeCar too and I must say it was a blast to drive! I got rid of it when it needed a new clutch as the engine had to come out of the car to change it.
Khodro Paykan, Citroen Visa/Axel/Oltcit, ZAZ Tavria/Slavuta, Dacia 1310, FSO Polonez, Skoda 105/120, NSU Ro80, Fiat Strada/Ritmo, Morris Marina, ZAZ 968, Renault 14, Hyundai and Kia of any sort...
My boss had a Chevy Vega it was so hard to start and keep running he would send me out to get it running for him Sometimes it would take me over 15 minutes to accomplish, than I almost got hit by a bus when I pulled it out and it stalled.
My brothers friend is as old as ray& had a daufine & could ride all over for a $1 a day.I had an R10 & it was a lot of fun..when I went around corners the front doors fell off!
What about the Chevy Citation? a car so poorly built its first year in production they had to call it the Citation II...Easily one of the worst front wheel drive cars ever built
I liked the Yugo! It was so cute, priced to sell, and was the best Yugoslavian car I've ever ridden in. I think it could go head to head with the Chevette, and I'm pretty sure in a drag race, the Yugo would win... Even though the Yugo had a top speed of 45 mph, the red ones felt fast, and you could always swap out the engine with a good used fork lift truck motor. 🛵. But for 3990 plus tax, some assembly required, it was a great value, and it's probably so rare now that a fully restored one might fetch 4 grand. 😊

The Grim is now a must have 45 years later.
Staff Hygiene Supervisor, Hugo Taykashowa
My grandma had an old AMC hornet and the gaskets on the interior was shot and when you’d sit in it you’d get black sludge on your clothes
I knew a guy who drove a pinto too fast over a RR crossing and it broke in half.
The Pinto or the RR Crossing... from shame? :D
I saw the engine fall out of a Corvair on a rough crossing.
I'm surprised the Metro isn't on this list
Metro is a reliable car.I have 2 and have built more from wrecks.
I had a cousin who died in one. Single car accident.
Many Yugos still driving today. Can't say that for most of the others.
In the UK we had the vauxhall/Opel chevette due to its unreliability and mostly being pushed by its driver we called it the vauxhall/Opel shove-it 😫
What was wrong with the gremlin!?!?
Chevettes were dependable. But they had no power, mostly due to emission systems that didn't even work.
Am surprised Lada didn't make it to the list
Was that ever sold in the US? I never knew it existed until years later.
Y'all have never experienced the 1986 Mercury Merkur.
All these cars (exc.#9) are from 1970 to 1990. Admittedly a dark time in auto history. But still...no junk was made before that, or since?
Or if it was, it wasn't as bad or it could be easily fixed and not fall apart at the seams
I'm surprised my Datsun F-10 wasn't on the list. Just for its appearance.
my 78 f10 sports wagon isa great looking car!!

The French make pastries not cars....
Sometimes the pastries were more durable...lol
I had Vega in 1976 used, it was my first car and it was awful. But it was a car and got me around.
Pepres little rust bucket!
@Jim Allen did it atleast get good gas mileage?
Anyone who wants to see a great LeCar joke, watch My Name is Earl.
Yes, the hotel they live in is a REAL crackhead motel

Yugo nowhere
You go with a Yugo! It's the stopping that's hard. And the plastic parts that fall off in the interior, those can be painful to step on.
Excuse me, my dad owned a brown LeCar as his first car😂😂😂
🍎 🚗🔫 👌
lol, I loved my Dad's LeCar
Hugo. It stops.
nick and Norah dont aprove
