I bought my Opel Astra F at '92 only for the nice interior of its cabin and the trip computer. Then I realized how strong and stable the car was. I still have it !!!
The 1.4 Ecotec's are known for blowing Turbos other than that you'll get the typical cheap GM problems that Opel copied; The button's color chipping away, buttons itself that falling of flipkeys that fail, that doesn't hurt anything it's just annoying but stuff that really starts consuming money is like I said turbo problems, transmission problems with the M32 6-speed manual, the automatics are fine. The diesels are mainly made by Fiat and are fine just make sure if you get one of them to pour injector cleaner in the tank every once in a while they sometimes clock up a little.

Hi Do you know if when you reach the biting point with the clutch when you are using the parking brake if the car will move forward and the brake disengages? Sorry if that doesn’t make sense, was kind of hard to explain
@@TAVZZ the electronic parking brake disengages on its own when you reach biting point and add gas (in case of VW/Audi you gotta have a seatbelt on too,idk how about the Opels),its really easy to make a steep hill start with it. Its a great feature in my opinion, but when it breaks, its quite expensive, specially to fix both parking brake motors. In case of Astra J its quite reliable thankfully from what i have heard.
It's normal for some cars. When you unlock them, they activate the daylight (or some light) so you can see around the car a little bit easier. Idk if this opel has it as a feature or electrical failure, but it is definitely a thing in cars.
@@AlphaKala Yes, I have an Astra J and when the automatic headlight is on and turns on because its dark enough, also the reverse light turns on as part of the welcome light.
It’s actually something found on all GM vehicles, not just Opels. I guess now that Opel is part of PSA, new models won’t have it anymore. I see it all the time on GM cars here in Canada.
People either complain that there are to many buttons or that there're screens that are to big.. I personally prefer a good screen over this button-mess in these older Opels ^^
The biggest problem with this otherwise decent car is the engine being too small in comparison to the car's mass. Over time engine can become damaged if user uses it extensively.
You press the key button and the reverse light lights up. The parktronic sensors are also activating...opel shit quallity. I have the same car btw and i regret it
In addition to allowing you to discover many differents models, these videos are very relaxing
The Xenon-AFL lights are amazing for a car, which was released in 2009.
The whole car is awesome for 2009

Opel has the toughest cars out there. My father had 4 Opels his entire life, I just bought an Open Astra J-H three years ago too and its a beast.
I saw a bicolored dash for the first time in Astra. Thanks :)

Beautiful Video. I loved my Astra J, especially the red interior light. I had one between 2013 and 2018.
When Opel still made good cars, 200,000 km and it goes like the first day, as an Opel fan I am very sorry for how it ended today😢😢
