This is our Main Orchestra, so players are between 12-14 years old. We also have four other younger age-banded orchestras, the youngest member of which is 7 years old.

Great British musicians, and great Venezuelan conductor enjoying great Mexican music! No criticisms, no difference, no nationality. Music should join us all together as in this video happens. Other conductors and musicians will endure like projects and will be honourable the same. Different season, different colours; the same human kind. As every person is.

@Azay Deelay Danzón originated in Cuba, and became very popular in other countries, but especially in Mexico. The eastern state of Veracruz has always had strong cultural and economic ties to Cuba and to this day you will find people dancing Danzón in public parks, and many "danzoneras". From Veracruz it spread to other parts fo the country, and in fact danzón remains more popular in Mexico than it does in Cuba. Arturo Marquez is a mexican composer, who says he was inspired by mexican "salones de baile" or dancing halls (such as Salón México) where danzón was the most popular dance. So yes, this is mexican music.

Music is limitless! How beautiful it is to think that for music there are no borders. A Mexican song played by an orchestra formed by english children and people from all around the world commenting and appreciating these kids' job.
I almost cried at the end, watching all these incredibly talented kids dancing and truly enjoying their own performance. Wonderful!

Have to say that was stunning. Watched Dudamel and the Venezuelan lot first then stumbled across this one and I was blown away by the standard of our young musicians. Those who were there will never forget it - just wish I had been one of them. Superb. And Charlie - no fake movements just losing yourself in the music, which is absolutely right!

México, Gran Bretaña y Cuba son soberbiamente hermanados en la música. El danzón, aunque de origen cubano arraigó profundamente en México y es un baile cuyo antecedente más lejano es una danza campirana inglesa del siglo XVIII.

This is hands down the best version of Danzon #2. I keep going back to it, and so do my 16 and 13 year old children, who just discovered it. What these kids did is beyond amazing. The boundless energy, the stunning sound, the sharpness of the rythms, the accuracy of the playing, and especially the tonal balance are unbelievable. Even the best orchestras have not delivered such a performance. The conductor Natalia Luis-Bassa made it all about the kids and not about her, and she deserves immense credit for the results she got. I wish I had been there.
Wassim Bejjani You should check out the Gustavo Dudamel recording. Personally I feel I can hear the orchestras confidence better in that recording. This recording is also very impressive for such a young band.

WOW!!!! I'm so amazed by this performance... I don't know how difficult may this piece be, but these young musicians play like real professionals. A little bit fast -for my own personal taste- but I can understand, they all are so young and full of energy... Absolutely amazing.
They are outstanding!! It is a tad fast though, almost like it’s been sped up. I wonder why they decided to conduct it like that? I couldn’t imagine trying to dance to some of the parts. Too fast for a quickstep even 😅😅
Doesn’t take away from any of their talent though 😮😮

Grandiose Darbietung. Tolle Dynamik und mit viel Herzblut präsentiert. Auf das Stück bin ich durch Mozart in the jungle gekommen. Nachdem ich diese Interpretation gehört habe, habe ich mir das Stück gleich auf Amazon gekauft.

He escuchado muchas versiones de esta obra y para mi gusto está dentro de las tres mejores, en cuanto al sentimiento creo que por el solo hecho de meterte a estudiar musica, a la edad que sea, es porque tienes el sentimiento mas desarrollado que el común de las personas, seas chino, latino o anglo; a no ser por algunos pequeños detalles pero eso ya es de gustos personales y no defecto de interpretación, mas bien es como lo entienda el director en turno pues el buen músico debe acoplarse a lo que le pida el director, saludos. El pequeño silencio en el minuto 6:07 es perfecto, cosa que en otras versiones no se le da

Alors là ,j’avoue que ,connaissant assez bien les difficultés de synchronisations des différents instruments,je suis tout à fait agréablement surpris par la qualité d’interprétation.Même si leurs plaisirs de jouer ensemble est discret, cela transparaît.Je ne connaissais pas cette formation musicale et je suis heureux de la découvrir.Encore un grand bravo et merci .Continuez à transmettre des émotions musicales .
