Vivien, this was a really helpful video for me. It was authentic. It was "show, don't tell". No organized and numbered lecture tips. Just a writer plunked down out back, saying how much she needs to write ... while the eggs cook. You're a great example. I kind of need to hear myself say what you just said, that I need to write and I need to make room for that. Thanks!

Um also weird questsion but I have to ask: You say "yall" (which I do too). Are you from the south or north? Because I'm from Louisiana(the south ) and people tend to always use that stereptype on the south.

I love watching writing vlogs, they are funny most of the time and it's nice to see other people's processes.
The funny thing about zombies is they are at the beginning of an uptrend in books now. I was watching Alexa Dunn and she noticed that the next year a few zombie books are coming out. I'm not sure how far you are into the book, but it might be a good time to write that.

I hear you on the videos. I just started my RUclips channel because it's almost like a necessary evil. People don't realize how long it takes to make 1 simple video. 39 mins to compile and sometimes just as long to upload. And my adsl is slow. When I upload I can't use my internet. And I don't know about you, but I have to get in the creative alpha braiwave 'zone' before I can see the scenes and hear the characters' voices in my head.
Just found your videos. Love them and I went to go enroll in your course and it says it's closed. When will it be open again. Would love to check it out.

I'm in "preptober" now for November too. The best thing you can do is get adequate sleep and get prepped for NaNoWriMo. I remember being a new parent and how little sleep was involved so, I'll repeat: Make sure you get enough sleep.

Hey, I just found this channel and find the content quite interesting, a bit inspiring even. I don't want to become an author, but I have a world, somewhat of a setting and a character... and I want to know what happens to them. Is it worth the effort to just give it a try, even if I might not have the time, motivation or dedication to reach good quality or even finish it?
In short, no.
For long, read on.
You just said so yourself, you don't want to be an author, nor do you think it's worth putting the time and dedication into finishing the project. You'll be wasting your time as writing is very hard, and that's without learning story structure beforehand, which means that you'll probably need about 5+ drafts until completion. If you cannot even bring the motivation to write your own story inside you, you'll never want to learn the essence of story structure, outlining, and actually writing, and then editing.
In the end, you'll give it a half shot with little motivation and practice, come to the first hurdle and 'writer's block', can't figure out a way to move forward because you haven't learned story structure, moan, get frustrated, and give up, wasting hours.
I personally would like to play the violin. However, I understand very well that to get to a level that could be considered as 'good' would take me countless days, weeks, and months with non-stop practice, something I am unable to commit to as I'm too focused on an author career. The fortunate thing is I don't regret my decision not to learn it. We all have limited time, and we spend it in ways in which we believe is the most meaningful.
If you know that being a writer, and author, is not meaningful to yourself, you've already answered your own question. Time will be best used if you move on to a different hobby which you are passionate about, love, and one in which you will dedicate all your available time. Whole ass one thing, not half-ass two things.
