If you read the introduction in the Daily Roman Missal, it states that the veil is actually lifted during each and every Holy Mass. So, when this is chanted during the Eucharistic Feast, the veil is indeed lifted between Heaven and Earth. It is not just an expression in those instances. But, yes this is most certainly Divinely inspired.
I just want to say thank you to the people that made this video because i was praying with your song in the background to help me feel at peace then the lord answered my prayer and helped me get accepted to my dream university. So all in all thank you to the people of St. Michael's Abbey and may others be blessed and be touched by your music and by god as you and God have done for me (sorry for any grammatical errors I'm not a native speaker)
Can't help noticing your Family Guy icon there. I'm surprised a Catholic would show off their admiration for that show considering it mocks Christians. I did a little research in case I didn't recall it correctly and the show is even worse toward religious people than I thought.
Heavenly and ethereal. Gorgeous. I try to pray Psalm 51 every night as my act of penance and forgiveness (in my Catholic Bible it’s Psalm 51)….. “3 Have mercy on me, God, in accord with your merciful love; in your abundant compassion blot out my transgressions. 4 Thoroughly wash away my guilt; and from my sin cleanse me. 5 For I know my transgressions; my sin is always before me. 6 Against you, you alone have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your eyes So that you are just in your word, and without reproach in your judgment….. 9 Cleanse me [with hyssop], that I may be pure; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. 10 You will let me hear gladness and joy; the bones you have crushed will rejoice. 11 Turn away your face from my sins; blot out all my iniquities. 12 A clean heart create for me, God; renew within me a steadfast spirit. 13 Do not drive me from before your face, nor take from me your holy spirit. 14 Restore to me the gladness of your salvation; uphold me with a willing spirit….. 19 My sacrifice, O God, is a contrite spirit; a contrite, humbled heart, O God, you will not scorn.” Thank You for Your mercy, forgiveness, and compassion my Sweet Savior Jesus Christ. Amen 🙏🏼 ❤
Glorious, heavenly and beautiful . I am happy to find your channel by listening to your shorts. God bless you all. Please Keep your teaching coming. ✝️🙏❤️🇨🇦
Such an amazing chant! It gives a lot of things to reflect on one own's transgressions. It is very inspiring and enligtens the spirit to examine the conscience. This Psalm is so well sung by the Norbertines.🙏❤
Miserere mei, Deus: secundum magnam misericordiam tuam. Et secundum multitudinem miserationum tuarum, dele iniquitatem meam. Amplius lava me ab iniquitate mea: et a peccato meo munda me.
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Thy great mercy. And according to the multitude of Thy tender mercies blot out my iniquity. Wash me yet more from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my iniquity, and my sin is always before me. Against thee only have I sinned, and have done evil in thy sight: that thou mayst be justified in thy words and mayst overcome when thou art judged. For behold I was conceived in iniquities; and in sins did my mother conceive me. For behold thou hast loved truth: the uncertain and hidden things of thy wisdom thou hast made manifest to me. Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be cleansed: thou shalt wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow. To my hearing thou shalt give joy and gladness: and the bones that have been humbled shall rejoice. Turn away thy face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God: and renew a right spirit within my bosom. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation, and strengthen me with a perfect spirit. I will teach the unjust thy ways: and the wicked shall be converted to thee. Deliver me from blood guiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall extol thy justice. O Lord, thou wilt open my lips: and my mouth shall declare thy praise. For if thou hadst desired sacrifice, I would surely have given it: with burnt offerings thou wilt not be delighted. The sacrifice to God is an afflicted spirit: a contrite and humbled heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Deal favourably, O Lord, in thy good will with Sion; that the walls of Jerusalem may be built up. Psalm 50
I’m glad you had this original for a year before you posted the commented version. It’s nice to have the comments but even nicer to have the full performance. It truly is a spiritual masterpiece!
Not the original as composed by Allegri (see the video by the Marian Consort exposing the myths and true history surrounding this piece) but also not the modern English high "C" note version either. The version played at St. Peter's basilica sounds less embellished than this, and more subdued.
I am Catholic GOD and I do not want a New EARTH 🌍 Built by you GOD! We have one ☝🏾 Universe and I have one Cross on Earth 🌍 and 1 ETHIOPIA with a LION 🦁 GOD! Too many Jesus Christ Movies GOD!
The veil between Heaven and Earth is removed during this.
How does that happen?

@@sallymetzger1708 It is just an expression - a way of saying that we are very lucky to hear such divinely inspired music....
I will have to try to start using this expression. Really very very lovely! Thank you!

I wish this was in all the parishes around the world

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
May God be glorified.Thank you Lord for your redemption. I cannot thank You enough a sinner like me, and You loved me first.
I listen to this sacred prayer every night at bedtime, my sins are pardoned and my soul is healed. Thank you for sharing this prayer.❤
A very nice rendition of Allegri's "Miserere Mei Deus" it makes my arm hairs stand. Been following the Norbertine's schola.

You can feel the heartbreak of King David.🙏🏻❤️
I'm legit tearing up. This is magnificent. Thank you and god bless!
I would LOVE to sing in a choir like this. This is pure worship.

It would be great if you put out a cd of these songs for donations ❤✝️❤
Wow, beautiful music ah I must say heavenly or angelic. 😍😍😍😍😍
I believe the cannon that is fourth from the left visited my FSSP parish in Tacoma, WA recently.
I’m glad you had this original for a year before you posted the commented version. It’s nice to have the comments but even nicer to have the full performance. It truly is a spiritual masterpiece!
Love this version. I believe the most popular version is result of a mistranscription in the 1800’s. Also, thanks for the Latin words
Beautiful and wonderful!
Lord have mercy on me a sinner.
Absolutely glorious. Perhaps the best rendition I’ve heard of this masterpiece! ❤
Bravo gentlemen! I have performed this and I have listened to many many versions. You work is lovely.
🙏
Great job! Thanks for sharing this!
❤❤
Amen!
Amen❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
This is the music
Well done!
I cant imagine that there wasn't one of those tenors who could handle that with the famous "top C" in the second-half of the 4-voice falsobordone,
The removal of the Latin mass takes away this beauty in church music
Its different, but i liked it
Where is the sharp c? But this is beautiful I can sing this one.
Cristo tende piedade de mim.
Sou um pecador
