My grandfather Wilfred Becquet exported several of his cattle and I well remember three cows and one bull going to Costa Rica. They left Jersey on a small Bristol Freighter aircraft on the first stage of what must have been a very long and exhausting journey via the UK. I was therefore fascinated to see their progeny so happily settled in Central America producing that same thick milk that we and the farm cats drank every day - and don’t get me started on that fantastic salty butter my grandmother made in the wooden paddle box then patted into shape with the two bats, each engraved with a cow’s face to give it authenticity!

The drone footage of the volcano and above the coulds made my jaw drop. So amazing!! And what a nice young man that gave you the farm tour. So nice to see how proud he was of the farm! And he was absolutely right about the milk. The processing and pasteurization takes away all the good bacterias that is in milk. And it takes away so much of the taste..

Whole milk sucks. And that "good bacteria" / no pasteurization is why it will have zero shelf life. We can't all keep a cow in the back yard. Actually, plenty of studies show the world would be better off all around including from global warming if we did away with cattle completely.

Double 👍 for this one. It’s the random interactions with local people along with the journey that make your videos so good. The guys clearly loved and cared for their animals, they were so gentle with them and the opportunity to drink raw full cream jersey milk…wow! It must have been rich and rare! We were supposed to be flying to Argentina Nov 21 to start on our way up to Alaska on our Himalayans… delayed for obvious reasons so plan now is to fly to Vancouver June this year and just start going south. Americans may appreciate; Costa Rica is almost exactly the size of Indiana, though oriented east/west, not north/south. With friends, we flew into San Jose, in the center of the country. We planned to tour a few days in Central Costa Rica, then go west for a few days on the Pacific, then east for a few days on the Atlantic Coast. We were so enthralled with the scenery and wonderfully kind people of central Costa Rica, the scenery, the volcanoes, hot springs, etc... we spent fourteen days in interior of Costa Rica and never saw either ocean. Hopefully Noraly can do some night flying with the drone near Mount Arenal.
