- ALL ELITE SUSPENSION. Tony Khan has handed out suspensions to The Elite and other people involved in the AEW fight.
We have new details on the punishment for CM Punk and The Elite following their legit backstage altercation during AEW’s All Out media scrum. Sports Illustrated reported that there have been multiple suspensions handed out to the individuals involved in the backstage fight.

Apparently even if they were breaking it up, they were still involved and it’s better to get them all off the road while investigations are going on. I expect them to return before anyone else
As others said, it's just to get them off the road until the end of the investigation. I can't imagine they face true repercussions, and they'll likely still be paid while serving their suspensions.
I don’t really see their suspension as a punishment tho. They probably shouldn’t be around for a bit tho just so an investigation can be fair and the locker room hopefully stops talking about it

Unironically a ‘both sides are wrong’ situation because Punk is genuinely problematic and has been for a while but I can’t call someone a dick for trying to clear their name from what they think is slander and bullshit. That said, SOMEBODY in that company and in that locker room has to step up and take control of the ship so to speak, or else AEW is gonna go down very very fast just when things were starting to look really promising. Also, on the off chance all these guys put at least some of their personal beef aside, this has the potential to be one of the best storylines in pro wrestling history.
I think a guy like the undertaker or Roman reigns is needed in AEW. Maybe Taz ,JR,Chris Jericho or Christian Cage.
Just saying, replace the Elite with Sting, JR, Paul Wight, Billy Gunn, and Mark Henry as EVPs

As for as the elite or young bucks to be exact, yes we have heard from wrestlers to promoters saying it’s hard to work with them because of politics and style of matches. I enjoy most of matches the bucks put out so I’m not going go out my way for calling them idiots on how they want to wrestle. Should we automatically treat Punk words as gospel? No however I highly doubt Punk is just going to air them out during the press conference like that without him knowing what’s going on backstage since he happens to work in the company and hearing word of mouth from FTR (rumors of course). However we can always agree to disagree on the issue but that’s my personal take on everything.

This is so sad. From the amazing return last year, then the summer of punk being ruined by the freak foot injury, then the re-try as world champ being ruined by injury and drama. What a let down.

The proof that the "elite" did this is that they kicked down his door and physically confronted him about it. The Bucks and Omega should be the ones getting fired. A) They did start this and B) The proof is in the viewership. When their so-called "trios" "match" went on air, over 200 000 people switched channels, because they DON'T want to see the "elite".

Both sides are in the wrong here. I mean both sides have massive egos and obviously haven't seen eye to eye since punk has been there. The bucks/omega want the company to be what they want it to be and punks turned up and got alot of attention and it's probaly caused rifts backstage. But suspension for both sides is right you can't be EVPs of a company and fighting in the back and the same with punk being the world champion. Makes the place look like a sloppy shop and obviously they've got TBS behind them an advertisers etc whatever so you can't let this go unpunished

Gonna have to disagree with you on this one Pllana. I think choosing not to punish Punk sets a bad precedent overall, and this isn't just about Bucks specifically in their EVP Position. Were they the best? No, but consequences were dolled out as followed, and despite that, they never created the kind of hostile work environment Punk has. He's butting heads and making mountains of mole hills with people that laid the ground work for him to come back too in the first place.
To side with him is gonna add more to his already inflated and fragile ego and make him think that he can openly disrespect his Higher ups and receive little to no punishment, and I don't know about you, but I can't think of many Business that are run successfully where Position/Rank isn't respected and people can blatantly disrespect people in higher positions. Punk started all this, and an example needs to be made that NO 1 Superstar is above the Company.
He never said Punk shouldn't be punished. And there are other ways of punishing someone other than releasing them.

Punk has a lot of baggage and despite WWE officials stating that he's a pain to work with TK still hired him. Now TK is experiencing first hand why WWE didn't want him. It would be extremely naive of him to expect Punk to change his behavior given he's had about seven years between his WWE departure and his AEW debut to change it with zero effort made.

If punk leaves aews opportunity to grow has been lost. This could have been an opportunity to change the company for the better but evidently khan has chosen to rely on those who have failed time and time again.
Whilst many wrestlers disagreed with how punk spoke during the media scrum it will lead to many wrestlers who aren't looked upon favourably by the bucks and omega leaving.

I would’ve gotten rid of the bucks and Omega or at least completely take away the EVP positions they have.
In my opinion Punk doesn't make AEW grow. Because 2012 WWE Fans, will not watch the product just for Punk. The Elite is of course is not also scot free, the elite make an error, but think that they're still people who put everything into this company and think this: if someone starts causing mischief around a group friends and then starts ridiculing one of your friends, would you go to that dude and confront him? In many cases people confront the person because of many reasons. The Elite, or the people who perform as the Elite, were reasonably angry at Punk, who caused many problems in the company itself since he arrived (in 2020-early 2021 AEW was PRAISED by critics and fans who liked the product- 2022-now AEW is now being questioned about the possibility of a quick and rapid downfall, by some, and many people are now looking at the same thing that killed WCW, the people in charge being a-holes to others and making awful decisions and the talent not respecting other's work, and almost waking out for making a scene [like Hogan's legit promo at Bash at the Beach 2000] and the people in charge being left to try and fix the issue). The Elite thought should be suspended and be stripped away the EVPs position, because their decision was stupid and thinking that the dudes who are at the top of the company are the same who borderline cause a fight against Punk, who should be stripped of the title. This is what I think from what I have heard. The people who should be the ones inspiring younger talents and with most of the screen time should be respectful of others with a pinch of professionalism. For me the decision should be:
-Suspending Punk and the Elite
-Firing Ace Steel
-Stripping the titles away from Punk and the Elite or making them lose the titles early, or at Dynamite or Full Gear.
-Not suspend the ones who tried to stop the fighting, because of obvious reasons, they didn't mean to harm anyone and tried stopping an episode that could ended way worse than how it ended.
AEW needs to get is 💩 together before they could go bankrupt if TNT stops the airing of AEW all together (just like what happened to ECW) or one of the Khans, more likely Shadid, leaves AEW. It's sad to see just how a company with so potential could die because of poor decisions

Besides myself you are the only person I seen so far who has said they need to be striped of their titles after this incident. Everyone is either undermining their role in this crap or only placing all the blame on CM Punk. The Elite 100% needed to be suspended and they need to be striped of that EVP title so I won’t have to hear countless rumors of other wrestlers being afraid to go against their decisions and risk being fired or them playing politics backstage. CM Punk should be suspended without pay for the minimum of a month. Once everyone comes back TK needs to have a sit down with all parties involved to let them know shit like this won’t fly anymore and to so who can work will with each other. CM Punk imo deserved what came his way. His Diva like behavior backstage never really got him into any big trouble in any other company before so for him to go unscripted and call out Adam Page and then go off in the Media Scrum burying the EVPs of the company on NATIONAL TELEVISION was a "logical" conclusion in his mind. CM Punk is a person who thinks that he is the greatest name in pro wrestling. He feels like he is the megastar of wrestling industry. He doesn't value anyone, not his co-workers not his Boss not anyone. All he wants is the spotlight to be on him. He wraps himself in controversy to make himself the matter of discussion. A person like that does not even deserve to be on the company.
CM Punk wouldn't have existed if it was not for WWE and Vince McMahon. That is the platform which built his career and made him a superstar and gave him global fanbase.Yet he keeps taking $HIT about them all the time. When punk made his return i wasn't really excited to begin with tbh. Till Around 2017-18 i used to be super excited for punk's return. For me that was the greatest comeback that could ever happen in Pro wrasslin. But then I heard his statements and he was like "You guys still chant my name?? Really? It's been so long... I'm over that thing now. I'll not risk my physique just so people can have fun. You should move on... Can't believe y'all are still stuck there.". Exact moment which killed my enthusiasm. Can't be be all up in arms for a guy who doesn't even value the fans who made him, watned to see him succeed and even after his so called retirement chanted his name for years. So it never surprised me to see how things are going now

They all need to be suspended, Punk included. His outburst caused this and should’ve kept it between the people that it mattered.

Some say it's a work, but I don't think it's work in any way. We can all agree there's some animosity in the AEW locker room. I'm not surprised that this happen, because pro wrestlers always get into unnecessary beefs with each other. As of suspensions, CM Punk and Kenny Omega returns were shot-lived and pathetic. And can someone tell how and why Pat Buck and Christopher Daniels were involved with the suspensions and fight

Did they really kick the door down? Is this 100% confirmed? Also, the majority of the locker room seems to side with The Elite. Also, Punk did say, "if you have a problem, come see me". Doesn't justify kicking the door, but there is some context, at least.
Honestly, if I was Tony Khan, I would reach out to Jeff Jared since he was recently let go from WWE, and ask him to become my new executive vice President. He knows the business inside and out, and has a lot of Good will as a veteran and producer. Sure, he has his critics, but he's the most qualified person to take the job.
