Excellent video I have a cottage that has hedges all round and a culvert that is difficult to cut the hedge along this part and have been thinking of getting a tractor and a hedge cutter as it’s just under an acre been looking at a smaller tractor and hedge cutter .

Thank you! Good luck with it! Key thing is ensuring there is metal between you and the flails. So making sure tractor has a cab :)

Excellent video. If the morning sun always seems to be in your eyes, maybe suggest wearing some sunglasses.

Looks good bud, best to cut in winter as you have les s mess, never let the head hit the earth like that unless you want to kit a rock, lose a flail or 6 and have the machine shake itself like crazy

Would you say farming nowadays is strictly a complete money making business? It seems that’s it’s all about crops and pheasants. Bird wise, hedge cutting takes away berries which birds etc would feed upon in winter. So maybe thick hedges would support birds in the breeding season but they may find it very difficult to survive the winter??
Anyway it’s evident how bad it is out there in the countryside, sad fact is it’s happening without each generation noticing, I’m sure you rather will say there were more birds around in his youth .
