Enjoying the reviews mate, with all this talk of blu rays what sort of set up would you recommend? Like tv/player/speaker set up if you’re into your picture quality?
Glad ur enjoying them! Plenty more reviews / content to come! ☺️ As for setup recommendations, there’s so much to it mate. I know u have PS5 and Sony Ag8. That’s a great start PQ wise for 4K blu ray, streaming etc Audio makes up half the experience tho and a lot of people overlook that. Imagine Jaws without the theme? Would it even be Jaws anymore? i think a good quality soundbar which can handle virtual dolby atmos would be a good place to start. Then u have soundbar and rear speaker combos and then the world of AVRs and speaker packages which is obviously upping the ante price wise but that’s where it’s at!
The spider man one is grainy as hell, like swarming ants... it looks so bad because of the 4K upscaling which has enhanced the grainy image, your better off watching spider man one on just normal Blu Ray 1080p, unless you want swarming ants distracting you while watching it in 4K.

I had no issues with it but if ur sensitive to grain then i get why you might find it distracting. Unfortunately like you say when the they rescan a negative at 4K it picks up more of the natural grain along with the fine details.
@@ElectricGeek am just pissed off that they write on the back of all these 4K boxes that the playback of 4K movies is super sharp crystal picture,,, which for half of these 4K movies is a complete bare faced lie, false advertising... I have Rise of the Skywalker 4K I been watching and that too has grain.. But Avengers stuff, cartoons, and SOLO seem to be winners lol
If it’s shot on film, like a lot of movies still are, then u will get the natural film grain on 4K blu ray. The avengers movies, MCU etc are shot digitally so have that uber-clean crisp look, ‘crystal clear’ as u put. Loads of people like film grain as it looks ‘filmic’. Sometimes filmmakers even add artificial grain after shooting digitally to get that look. It just depends what u prefer mate 👍
I'm seeing that they are releasing the original 3 again in a new 4k package but this time it's £75, talk about capitalising on the new 'No Way Home' (excellent movie by the way). I will pick up the version for £29.99 that you've just reviewed as no way can I justify paying £75 for what will be the same transfer only I suspect new packing, possibly 2.1 on 4k and the usual cards, booklet etc
Yeah i think this is a definite cash in. The version I reviewed & the similarly packaged Garfield double pack have ‘play on ps5’ stickers. I think they are affordable versions aimed at ps5 owners to get them into the format using the Spider-man/ NWH hype. That target audience ain’t as likely to buy steelbooks and £75 boxsets lol Though as said in the video they are rammed with special features so unless they make new features i can’t see what will really be on the new boxset, other than collectables. I think 2.1 in 4K is very unlikely but we’ll see. Maybe in future. Thanks for watching and your comment mate 👍
I'd be too feart to watch Spidey 1 in atmos, I shat myself enough on normal Blu Ray with all the goblin stuff. Didn't remember being scared in Odeon 4!
I know, back in the day i enjoyed it. Even then knew it was the weakest but there have been so many decent superhero films since raising the bar. It’s not aged well
