You and me on that Mode for Joe Bob. Thembi is seriously an all-time favorite, top 10 jazz lp for me. That Roland Kirk I aint seen and is sounding mighty tasty. Good stuff as always Bob
Perfect picks for the tag! Man, I completely forgot about that Coltrane Cosmic Music. It so rarely pops up in peoples' posts and videos. So glad you picked it for the challenge, Bob. Never heard of that Mccoy Tyner Sahara album but wow - it is a smoking album! McCoy Tyner plays like it's his last day on earth on this album. Killer! Thank you so much for the video Bob. Ima go find me a copy of Sahara now.
Aloha Bob, Great picks for your JAZZ tags. Question # 5 brings back memories. Recall going to a garage sale & I recognize the person selling as a "Tower Records" employee , which by then TOWER's already had shut down,. He was selling Vinyl and a few Cassette tapes. He had a bunch of those blue Note releases still sealed with a round punched hole on the right top, at $3.00 each, must have been about 7 or more titles, I passed on all of them thinking it was Reissue titles with a cheap record jacket, lol. All his other records were $1.00 each. Oh well live and learn .....
Hi Bob, I have a stereo copy of the Cosmic Music LP. Mine is like the Impulse covers, super high-gloss outer gatefold cover. I think these were later pressings, as the originals were non-glossy. But it's mighty cool, known as the goth cover? It is near mint. I also have the one you showed, which is getting fairly hard to find these days. I hear that Alice was selling these out of her house right after John died in '67. NIce video, thanks.
Bob with the goods that Gene Ammons is a beauty. Killer Miles original I’m definitely gonna get that Bags Groove from Acoustic sounds . Mr Hands is so underrated Jack slays that record. Superb Bob, great vid..I'd love to know how you edit your vids they're smokin! Happenings is what I'm looking forward to too. That Bosa Nova is coming home with me.. cheers again
I've been searching for Bags Groove for a while. Find an og a couple weeks ago but it has a skip. Oh well, it will do! I love Tony Rice. So good. Cheers! Jay
Always love the shout out to Tony rice - I’ve referred many especially my kids to that album - “spacegrass” if I remember. Some good Dave grisman albums in the same vein with TR on guitar but not as good IMO. Thanks for a great cideo
Hey Bob, what are your thoughts on the different Rounder labels? Some are very rare, others are a dime a dozen. They do not differ between years, it's almost like the artist was able to choose which label they wanted. Have you found any explanation on why there are different labels?
Looking at your collection, it looks like you only have the barroom label and the typical "Rounder" label. If you start looking at the barroom type labels you will see there is a locomotive and other pics.
I missed on 100's of Jazz records at Goodwill. I ended up with 2. My friend bought 100+ The guy had an amazing collection from what I was told. At the same (outlet bins) store, a really nice Kenwood turntable was brought out and some guy took the cartridge off/the whole endpiece. That WAS a 100+ item ruined.
Nice addition to the jazz vinyl tag. Well done.

Well done Bob...an excellent Tag indeed. Oh, do you do the kickass cover art for the Condor records (fliers) as well...??
You know how it is Russ you have to be sort of a Jack of all trades these days … I’m just out here making whatever I can! Cheers

I had a dream that this happened. Your shout-out sounded like an America's Most Wanted profile. I just picked up an OG Sahara for $10.
Ten dollars … BAM!
