It makes me sick that someone hasn't salvaged the exquisite architectural elements like the front door, surround, sunburst and sidelight windows; arched door and frame, fireplace mantlepieces, brass chandelier, & any salvageable lamps, bedframes, and books! So much beautiful craftmanship going to waste. Just imagine how many treasures have already collapsed into the rubble. Wish we'd have been able to see the kitchen. Even though the house was so far gone, I'd have to say this is one of my faves!
This house was such a grand home. It is hard to look at it in such disrepair. Just beautiful. Thank you for letting us have a look around, Kappy. Do always be safe.
One of the most beautiful things about this house, besides the house itself, is that there is no graffiti or vandalism-just decay in its purest form. Pictures hanging from the walls. The toilet and bath tub not shattered from a bat, which by the way, those bathroom fixtures are definitely original, especially the high tank toilet and pure porcelain tub. Those toilets can be found restored and sold on eBay for over $1,000, one of a kind. The ornate woodwork is just unbelievably beautiful. And that arched doorway next to the staircase!! Every turn of the camera showed something more awe inspiring. This old lady was once so grand. Such a shame, and a shame to know these people’s personal effects are here to just rot. I’d really encourage you to salvage some things if you can before they’re destroyed or lit on fire by vandals. Amazing video!
I think you tube should do something about the books, I believe it is a crime, a sin and down rite tragic to let books just be dust in the wind. Esp the rare not all need be saved. The other one is on the flat roof section and my buddy will help me. Those flat roofs (foam) are the worst here. Lead paint, lead pipes, asbestos etc. It's a catch 22 if you try to fix it or tear it down it's going to cost thousands either way. Unfortunately no one realized they were building these beautiful homes with toxic materials that would render the place uninhabitable in 60-80 years.
@@valenciennesrichelieu6325 I wouldn't say that house is a survivor. There are plenty of 100 year old houses that are still lived in. Upkeep is the biggest problem with any house. Debra Cater I agree! It’s just awful the our society doesn’t seem to appreciate history or beauty unless it’s fresh, shiny & new. That woodwork, plaster detail belongs to another bygone era. What a shame. How could anyone just walk away from this home. You know, I bet you will be the last person to record this home before it completely collapses in and it's gone. Makes me really sad. History and beauty, gone. Thank you for capturing another beauty.
This is the best place you have ever done. It was a real beauty both now and in it's day. I wish i could have saw it before but i love it. So sad how people just let thing rot today. That was very much loved by someone.
This would have to be my favorite house that you have explored. It has beautiful bones, exquisite architecture, actual antiques and not just garbage that has been strewn throughout the structure. I noticed a few chairs, twin beds and a picture very similar to some that I have in my home ( a very simple four square farmhouse). Keep up the good work. Great stuff!
This one definitely should have been saved. All that beautiful ornate woodwork, beautiful front entrance, and 5 gorgeous antique beds just rotting away. And the amazing fireplaces! This home broke my heart.
That house makes me think of those sad pictures of a dog who's owner has died and he sits patiently and loyally waiting for his owner to return. That house looks like it's been waiting for years and years for its people to return. The only thing that will stop it is the inevitable passage of time. Too bad and sad that somebody couldn't have saved it.
Shirley Strand To me I always lean toward it being held up in probate while the heirs die off. Or their were no heirs, and if not why isn’t it donated. It’s both saddening and such a loss to everyone of this area.
That stately home would surely have fascinating stories to tell. The joys, sorrows and circumstances of generations and an America of yesterday. A truly stunning example of vintage craftsmanship.
Incredible. It’s easy to see the beauty that once was. Once the roof and windows are breached, water, temperature extremes, humidity and mold make quick work of anything built by humans. Fascinating video. Please be careful.
Beautiful old place. It really hurts that people just let homes like this die. I would have loved to have a home like that. Great explore, Kappy. Thanks for the tour
The building of a house back in the day was a labor of love, workmanship, and really an art form. Very sad to see houses like this one left to deteriorate and to see that ( whatever attempts to save it, failed ). Don’t know if it would still have a chance, but at least the furniture, books and some of the fixtures should be safe. Great video.
Thankyou very much.I think you did a very good job in filming this video. You gave enough time to enjoy the master carpentry skills that made this beautiful house. It is a shame it has been wasted . If it was my choice I would buy it and fix it.
Growing up in the 90's I loved to look through dollhouse catalogs- especially the old fashioned furniture. The wooden beds & trim throughout this house reminds me of those catalogs : )
It is ashame that these beautiful old houses get lost to time...thanks for showing them to us. And I like that you really care about these houses (by what you say as you walk around) when you film them.
Thanks! That's something that will never be done again. That level of workmanship is unappreciated now a days. It takes too long. And folks just don't want to wait for anything. In a few years all that will remain are photos and videos from people who like yourself, are getting there before they vanish into time.
This house...absolutely gorgeous!!! You’ve done an amazing job showing us the history of this one. Thanks so much Kappy for this beautiful home. Sitting here picturing what it once was. Absolutely beautiful!😊
As you entered I could imagine the memories that the walls still held. Just think of all the Christmases and birthdays celebrated. It must at one time been a happy home because despite the decay and missing walls, the house seems to still be ageing gracefully. To me it felt like the house was grand and would stay that way to the end. Thanks for showing it to us, what a lovely home.
Wow, the decorative woodwork and design around that front door is amazingly beautiful! The round door at the side of the staircase is as unique as the acorns within the woodwork of some of that first fireplace. I love these old houses that have not had any modern adjustments made to them.
great explore Kappy, what a big beautiful house this must have been back when it was alive,, i can see and hear those old fireplaces crackling and roaring, keeping the place warm,, such a shame its rotting away the way it is
The state of this beautiful house and its contents just makes me want to cry. So many incredible features and details! Why can't people see the value of these homes over new construction?!?
Speechless! That house is just stunning! It’s sad that someone couldn’t have kept up with the roof at least to keep it around. The furniture was still so beautiful and could still be salvageable... so sad ... what a beauty!
I want to say, this is one of the best, if not the BEST house I have watched on RUclips. As much as I like it, it saddens and frustrates me to see it in this state. Thank you for sharing !! Stay safe.

What a beautiful building and so sad it was left to decay. I love your videos because you show the architecture and antiques of these abandoned places. Thank you for sharing your videos.
awesome house. The room with the two beds looked very cozy. maybe only because I'm sick with the flu. who ever was going to restore it would need a new roof before the rest of the house falls down. Thank you for the video.
You would think a house with this much beauty could have been saved. At the very least put a tin roof on it. Isn't there a historical group or government grant that could have stepped up and preserved this house. This one Kappy really spoke to me. There wasn't anything creepy about it. I was thinking the same as the person who wasn't feeling well. It made me feel so welcomed and safe. I have to say,as others have allready stated, this is my favorite.
Same here one of my favorite places I ever filmed I just loved it, i only wish I could’ve bought it and restored it to its former beauty thank you for watching
Urban Exploring With Kappy You have to know when you are no longer capable of the maintenance. It’s time to donate and allow someone to preserve such a treasure. My GAAAWWWD! Why doesn’t someone @ least reclaim the interior woodwork? 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Linda Fairchild It looks as if some vandals did a real number on it. Sad. I love old houses, lived in two, one from 1850, and the other similar timeframe. The one from 1850 was haunted by a teenaged boy, who would say one word a day to me. I saw him the last time, and he had tears in his eyes. I have never forgotten him. I had a quick image of his father shaking his head, no, during that time in Massachusetts. Over my lifetime I had three other brief experiences, but that was extraordinary, and I think tied to his having lived there. Well, I think that tells us that we do not fail to exist when we die. I think we are born yet again, as a matter of evolution. I am certain to get some grief about having mentioned it on line, but it was such an unusual experience. I am 73 and this was about 10 years ago as it began, and we lived there for 4 years. I painted portraits all over the eastern third of the U.S. for twenty years.... maybe it’s just something that artists are more attuned to. I have seen nothing in my current house, which is only 12 years old.
Unfortunately the people like us who care and appreciate these houses don't have the money to do anything , it's so sad , that poor can appreciate what the rich take advantage of . 🇺🇸☮️
When this house was built no expense was to great, the wood work is incredible. How sad. Good find Kappy but made me sit on the edge of my chair as you walked around. This was an oh wow with each new room.

Heart breaking. So much beauty covered in decay. I have never seen a cover over a key hole. Being a lover of books and antiques I hate to see these items left to rot. I really enjoy your videos. I wish I was in a position to contribute.
Same here, Shelley. To let this glorious house to decay beyond the point of repair is not just sad but terribly irresponsible of whoever owns the property. It is just plain wrong that this has been allowed to happen.

What a shame. How could anyone just walk away from this home. You know, I bet you will be the last person to record this home before it completely collapses in and it's gone. Makes me really sad. History and beauty, gone. Thank you for capturing another beauty.
Great old house. Thanks for exploring and sharing...
This is the best place you have ever done. It was a real beauty both now and in it's day. I wish i could have saw it before but i love it. So sad how people just let thing rot today. That was very much loved by someone.
Laura Puzzetti agreed 🙂👍👍
Would have to have been very beautiful originally u can see a hell of a lot of work went into building this back then
I'd totally go after those wooden bedboard/frames. Beautiful work. The dresser too. That transom is gorgeous, and around the door too.
Suz Lesslie 😃👍
This one definitely should have been saved. All that beautiful ornate woodwork, beautiful front entrance, and 5 gorgeous antique beds just rotting away. And the amazing fireplaces! This home broke my heart.
That house makes me think of those sad pictures of a dog who's owner has died and he sits patiently and loyally waiting for his owner to return. That house looks like it's been waiting for years and years for its people to return. The only thing that will stop it is the inevitable passage of time. Too bad and sad that somebody couldn't have saved it.
Mamie Bobb 🙂👍
I was thinking the same thing about their lives and the times spent there.
Astonishing! 😊
Dan Koher It would be nice to know what happened, when a home such as this; is deserted. Very sad.
Shirley Strand
To me I always lean toward it being held up in probate while the heirs die off. Or their were no heirs, and if not why isn’t it donated.
It’s both saddening and such a loss to everyone of this area.
Very cool way of looking at it, Mamie Bobb! You captured it perfectly with that analogy.
Makes you want to cry to see these places that had obviously been beautiful left to this.
Stunning details and architectural features, great find!
Eileen Bauer 🙂👍👍
That stately home would surely have fascinating stories to tell. The joys, sorrows and circumstances of generations and an America of yesterday. A truly stunning example of vintage craftsmanship.
Thank you for documenting this grand home as she sucomes to nature in her twilight hour. 💙
Incredible. It’s easy to see the beauty that once was. Once the roof and windows are breached, water, temperature extremes, humidity and mold make quick work of anything built by humans. Fascinating video. Please be careful.
Oh what a beautiful home, such wonderful craftsmanship used in those days. So sad it has been left to rot away
I am totally speechless on how beautiful this house was and the antique furniture too.
That’s was a beautiful home in it’s time!
The linen closet looked like cedar.
Susanna M , I would have loved to go and see it! 💛🙂👍
moths dont like cedar
Definitely a cedar closet.
The front door & staircase is beautiful
Beautiful old place. It really hurts that people just let homes like this die. I would have loved to have a home like that. Great explore, Kappy. Thanks for the tour
This place was gorgeous. All those beds I guess the whole family lived there. Just beautiful. Have a great day
The building of a house back in the day was a labor of love, workmanship, and really an art form.
Wow! I have never seen a fireplace with acorns on the mantle! Love,Love,Love💕
What a beautiful place, can imagine that home in its hay days!
Mrssea Sea 🙂👍👍
Wow! It had been awesome! Thanks Kappy!👍🙋👋👋🧚🌟🌟🌟🌟🧞🧜🕊️
Wow.... Sad..... Beautiful..... Still sparkles. The books n beds wonderful finds. Glad you got out safe n sound. Stay safe and God bless.
it looks like a movie set from the outside. it is like the perfect abandoned house.
The furniture always gets me!!!! Why would ya leave such gorgeous pieces to rot 😢 wish ya could’ve gotten there sooner Kappy
Bobbi Watts 😢
Wow, I would have loved to explore/ film this one!!! 😃👍👍
It's like they got up one day, made the beds, left and never came back.
No, then after it looks like it was looted by randoms several times
Pretty sure the beds were made in a furniture factory.
@@maxi-me Bro 🤣
It is ashame that these beautiful old houses get lost to time...thanks for showing them to us. And I like that you really care about these houses (by what you say as you walk around) when you film them.
That house had an amazing front door. Many awesome details. Thanks for the explore!! 👍
Lucy Bieller 🙂👍
Thanks! That's something that will never be done again. That level of workmanship is unappreciated now a days. It takes too long.
And folks just don't want to wait for anything. In a few years all that will remain are photos and videos from people who like yourself, are getting there before they vanish into time.
It’s sad to see this home rotting away I’m sure it was beautiful back in the day and the antiques wow thank you for sharing awesome job.
country girl mcmahon I agree👍👍👍
Beautiful fireplace. I love this old house. Even though it's falling down.❤️
Oh, the details...beautiful, even now.
Juste incroyable et magnifique bravo de France
This house...absolutely gorgeous!!! You’ve done an amazing job showing us the history of this one. Thanks so much Kappy for this beautiful home. Sitting here picturing what it once was. Absolutely beautiful!😊
Melissa Boggs 🙂
As you entered I could imagine the memories that the walls still held. Just think of all the Christmases and birthdays celebrated. It must at one time been a happy home because despite the decay and missing walls, the house seems to still be ageing gracefully. To me it felt like the house was grand and would stay that way to the end. Thanks for showing it to us, what a lovely home.
Beautiful house,I can only imagine what it looked like when it was built.
Jada Livingston 🙂👍
I want to say, this is one of the best, if not the BEST house I have watched on RUclips. As much as I like it, it saddens and frustrates me to see it in this state. Thank you for sharing !! Stay safe.
The entire entry wall and all mantels were incredible! What a shame. Dude, you worry the hell out of me 😅 please be careful!! Always take someone with you. Great vid!!
Eric Sherman loves the mantels! 👍
Yeah. I kept thinking he was going to fall in those weak floors. I kept thinking the same thing to the video, “be careful.”
Haha thank you for watching! Agreed tho! Can just imagine how incredible this place would’ve been to live in!
David Brown get better... 👍💜
Absolutely love this house and OMgosh those fireplaces! Enjoy all your videos.
Urban Exploring With Kappy
You have to know when you are no longer capable of the maintenance.
It’s time to donate and allow someone to preserve such a treasure.
My GAAAWWWD!
Why doesn’t someone @ least reclaim the interior woodwork?
🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Dan Koher Yes, there is a lot there that could be saved, And reused. Very sad, and just feeling bad for the family, that never came home, again. ☹️
What a beautiful antique canopy bed!
When this house was built no expense was to great, the wood work is incredible. How sad. Good find Kappy but made me sit on the edge of my chair as you walked around. This was an oh wow with each new room.
Loved it! What an incredible place.
Someone needs to come through and save all of that antique molding, railings, transoms, doorknobs, mantles.
Why..?
Just watching omg this place at some point was besutiful stunning 112 yrs old you said shame on our nation today this couple that owned this must have worked hard and spent money on the best godnless thete soules such a shame look into all history and get back to us i bet you will get a shock ate bless you for shareing this godbless take care xc
What a lovely house that would have been in its heyday! Even in an advanced state of decay there are many elegant, decorative features to be observed. An exceptional tour. Love the fanlight above the front door. Thankyou for showing us.
Decaying exists in its natural way
Thanks for vedio, you really deserve

Beautiful place, hugs from MEXICO 💋🇲🇽
This is one of my favorites that you've done. Beautiful entry!
Wow this place would've been beautiful in it's hay day.I could imagine people living there as you walked around.Sad it's left to decay away like this.Awesome find Kappy
Toni Murtagh 🙂👍👍
Heart breaking. So much beauty covered in decay. I have never seen a cover over a key hole. Being a lover of books and antiques I hate to see these items left to rot. I really enjoy your videos. I wish I was in a position to contribute.
Furniture today could not withstand that exposure.
TheBTDEB agreed! 👍👍
Pressboard doesn't last very long.
Such a shame that this beautiful house has been left just to decay.
Depends upon money tbh.
Yeah, cheap IKEA crap would rot in a week.
Wow,The workmanship on the door frame is amazing.
Another great video.
Lots of old book's left behind.🎶🐦🌻🌻🌼
This one was beautiful!! I just don't understand how someone can own this and just allow this to happen......
Same here, Shelley. To let this glorious house to decay beyond the point of repair is not just sad but terribly irresponsible of whoever owns the property. It is just plain wrong that this has been allowed to happen.
@@andrewbrendan1579 Most people don't just allow homes to rot and fall down; life and circumstances happen like bankruptcy, financial strife, death, lead paint, mold, structural issues, etc.
What a beautiful home! It gives me a thump at the heart to see it now, like a lovely person who died in his or her prime. Your remarks and attitude were so respectful as you moved through this structure, Kappy. I also appreciated your quietness and steady hand as you focused on aspects of the architecture. Wonderful work! I can't wait to follow along with you through more of your discoveries.
Does anyone know where this house is located? Someone needs to at least save that beautiful furniture!!!
This is one beautiful old house allowing to go to ruin, so sad. I would love that house. I have an antique bed like the bed in the video. We inherited it from my husbands grandparents when they died. So pretty! And, the architecture is wonderful too. So glad you were able to film it before it fell to ruin. Thank you for saving it on video. Great explore!
