the Breakfast Club turned into a scary movie....great movie! it really had fun with itself. also, i didn't go to an inner city high school, so i don't remember quite that much drama. the opening of this movie is some bizarre distortion of highschool, i think, but for a movie that wants to argue alien, final solutions as its arching theme, then i dig it.
Most of our parents didn't care. Thats why now thats we're adults they're blaming media since TV raised us so they could watch nrw episodes Law and order SVU on time
The Faculty is an undervalued horror gem that got mistaken for generic "teen-horror." It wasn't groundbreaking but it was an entertaining action-packed version of the Body Snatchers. It was campy but not so much that it parodied itself.
Wow. I remember seeing this as a kid (must have been about 7), but a few things always stuck with me: the principal getting attacked with the pencil/scissors, baby Elijah Wood, and the segment with the bleaches closing on the queen. But, wow, it's crazy seeing so many familiar faces in the cast. Baby Usher! Famke Janssen! John Stewart??? Thanks for the delightful review, I think I'd like to rewatch the film again, for old time's sake.
First time I predicted your bee rating correctly before half-time. Yesssss! And: Kudos, correct assessment, 3.5 bees is adequate. I love Rodriguez’s movies. Btw: I even like his kid’s movies because my children can watch a Rodriguez movie w/o the usual amount of kills and curse words. I actually enjoyed “We could be heroes” myself.
This is a really cool movie where the girls are hot, the aliens are cool and the boys were being boys. The soundtrack is awesome. Great review Bee Man.
It's a CLASSIC. The Thing + The Breakfast Club = The Faculty. Bravo. Bravo. Any movie that turns your vice into your silverbullet of salvation....NOYCE
LOL! I actually have this movie and never knew it! (The only way I can THINK of the girl who lost her head survived is because it reattached to her body. The teachers fingers...did they 're-attach to the teachers hand? If not, there's your answer.) In other news, please give each of your kitty buddies chin scratches for me (especially the tiger stripped one..the first one shown...OMG, looks to e such a love bug!!!
I was in high school when this came out. Definitely not what high schoolers looked like at the time. More of a Hollywood version of high school trends and styles of that time. Very good movie that works great as a double feature with Disturbing Behaviour. I think the ending is a bit of a goof on teen movies where everything is back to normal. It's why Famke Jenssen wears a scarf, to cover the scars of being decapitated.
The Faculty turns 25! Made $63.2 million The film has a fresh batch of teen actors with quality acting, a terrific score as usual by Marco Beltrami, and makes lots of references to other science-fiction stories It's also got some clever camerawork, a hip soundtrack, and some clever winks of the genre Okay so some might complain this is a direct ripoff of'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' or 'The Thing' and I can see why Some of the CGI is very dated and it doesn't have a consistent tone not to mention the third act taking some misogynistic tropes Yet Robert Rodriguez is a very versatile director so he tries dipping his hand into the teen 90's horror craze that 'Scream' made popular doing a sort of John Hughes meets John Carpenter schtick The characters could be considered outcasts by one could relate to, combining yearning and cynicism and isolation In a way the aliens are a metaphor for these teenagers making their way through the landscape of adults not knowing how to navigate with the only hope being that they have to band together against the chaos This is a cult classic of the time period now from the slang to the wardrobe to the visual effects getting to the core of teenage existence This takes a jab at the class system taking peer pressure to a new level It’s the teenage mindset with plenty of morals around living in a world where everyone can belong, nobody having to be an outcast, all facts are based on some fiction, is everyone hung up on the science portion of these kinds of stories?, is it better to feel no fear no pain no worries in a collective whole, we are tired of being something we are not Rodriguez makes the kind of film with enough pulpy ness and teenage angst with a dash of sci-fi making this quite an underrated gem It’s bad enough high school can be terrifying struggling to survive being alienated but another to have it entirely being taking over by actual extraterrestrials
I think that it's the mark of a good director that all these known actors were willing to do a bit part. Was Salma Hayek even in the trailer? He can get her for this small part. Meantime, every time I call her the restraining order gets brought up.
I mean, if I was still emotionally exhausted and distressed (and likely sleeping late to make up for fitful sleep riddled with nightmares), I’d stop wearing eyeliner, too. It takes the longest and commonly requires the most precision. Why she was wearing that ugly outfit at the end is beyond me. (Not really; I own The Breakfast Club.) But for *this* movie, it doesn’t really make sense for her to go shopping and change her whole wardrobe with the trauma of the whole story. She’s probably stay home a lot, and wearing the same clothes is normal and doesn’t come with the sense of uncertainty while trying on light pink clothes for the first time. Considering the water factor for the aliens, I’m surprised she didn’t have the greasiest hair and stink lines coming off of her body and breath.

This movie is major nostalgia for me. Great review my dude!
This movie was one of my first introductions to alien movies. It’ll always hold a special place in my heart.
This was a good movie! I didn't expect who the villain was at the end.

Was one of my favorite movies as a child! ( yes my parents literally did not care 😂)
Same! My first movie that I have memory of watching is Aliens. 🤭
Most of our parents didn't care. Thats why now thats we're adults they're blaming media since TV raised us so they could watch nrw episodes Law and order SVU on time
“This is for Frasier!” I’m screaming 😭

Gem*?

'this bench looks like John Connor'🤣🤣🤣🤣
Seen this once in my teens. Liked it. Weird it's not brought up more considering Robert Rodriguez directed it

The lack of usher jokes is sickening 😭
i just saw him in this vid and i have absolutely no recollection of him in the film lol
Posted 58 minutes ago and you already have 431 views? Man you are popular! Cool! I'm happy to see your channel grow. One of my favorites.

And the moral of this movie is: "Drugs are good" 😂😂😂 Send you and your lovely wife lots of love 😘
I'm so glad this channel exists, it makes me realise that even the darkest times, can have an ironic sense of humour! xD

Omg, yes, YEEES
I was waiting for you to review this one. Amazing 😍
"I'M A PIRANHA" Tom, You kill me LMAAAOO
Darkness Falls was a movie that traumatized me and it would be great to make fun of.
The original “Tooth Fairy” design that they scrapped is interesting to look at, too.
Love the movie! Love your videos! Love you! Thanks brother this is a great way to spend the second ever afternoon of my 40s!
Not enough stand alone movies like this anymore. Great review New Bee. Awesome movie!

Paranoia, Paranoia everybody's comin to get you 🎶
It's like Breakfast Club meets The Thing with a happy ending
This is kind of an unofficial remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
With a touch of The Thing
Why am I not surprised by another top review? So I've finally put the bell on for this channel 😁
Enjoy your commentary so much . Keep up the good work! PS this channel is alot of fun.
One of the first to see this🧐🧐😁I love your work and humor. I have even shown my partner some of your jokes.
Keep it up, NewBee.
Josh Hartnett's hair though 😁😁 at least he came horror full circle with 30 Days of Night 🥰
Gotta love all the references to the song Brutal. Perfect for this movie
Is that usher!?!?!
The Faculty turns 25!
Made $63.2 million

Okay so some might complain this is a direct ripoff of'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' or 'The Thing' and I can see why
Some of the CGI is very dated and it doesn't have a consistent tone not to mention the third act taking some misogynistic tropes
Yet Robert Rodriguez is a very versatile director so he tries dipping his hand into the teen 90's horror craze that 'Scream' made popular doing a sort of John Hughes meets John Carpenter schtick
The characters could be considered outcasts by one could relate to, combining yearning and cynicism and isolation
In a way the aliens are a metaphor for these teenagers making their way through the landscape of adults not knowing how to navigate with the only hope being that they have to band together against the chaos
This is a cult classic of the time period now from the slang to the wardrobe to the visual effects getting to the core of teenage existence
This takes a jab at the class system taking peer pressure to a new level
It’s the teenage mindset with plenty of morals around living in a world where everyone can belong, nobody having to be an outcast, all facts are based on some fiction, is everyone hung up on the science portion of these kinds of stories?, is it better to feel no fear no pain no worries in a collective whole, we are tired of being something we are not

It’s bad enough high school can be terrifying struggling to survive being alienated but another to have it entirely being taking over by actual extraterrestrials
great review as always, NewBee!
This movie was awesome
"The only thing missing - aliens". 😅
😂😂😂 This movie is amazing and I don't care what anybody says! You will never change my mind!
I agree
I think that it's the mark of a good director that all these known actors were willing to do a bit part. Was Salma Hayek even in the trailer? He can get her for this small part. Meantime, every time I call her the restraining order gets brought up.
This was even meta about referring to the puppet masters, and invasion of the body snatchers.
This movie is amazing and has an All-Star cast, so many well-known actors
The somewhat happy/nonsensical ending it's what bothers me about this one. I can even overlook the "vampire rules" thing as you said.
Shooter Mcgavin was in it too, i forgot!
have you thought about Cavin in the Woods, they mention this as a failure of
a sacrifice
Two thank yous??? No no, thank you newbee!

Wait that’s illegal that’s funny. And thanks Tom love your riffs. And one more question, have you seen this boy?
Is this a re-post/re-review? Not that I mind (I’ll watch again, regardless.) but I’m having intense deja vu.
Newbee can’t be beat, even on repeat.
Omg, A favorite! Thank you!
Sending love to you, your wife and your cats for making my day
Hey Tom!!! We love you in the shire
Love this movie, I’m going to watch it again, ASAP!!
Will you please review Black Circle Boys (1997)? It’s one of my favorite movies & I swear no one has heard of it!!! 🥰🥰
Love your videos but how did you not spot Usher my dude??
There was a joke but it got cut :(
I may forgetful, and made this comment before, but what i got out of this movie was if you didn't try drugs in high school, you're an alien.😂
14:01 - 14:03 That was weird repetition or it's just an error edit i guess...
One of my all-time favorite! This movie is a ton of fun.
What a casually stacked cast. Like so many actors, why is Usher here XD
This has always been one of my favourite movies
Great review!
I saw this movie in theaters
I watched this as a kid and it felt like a fever dream. I didn’t know that was coke either 😂.
Watched this as a kid and just recently watched this last week.
Wow! I forgot how good...bad...and star studded this movie was!
Lmao I'd to talk to you about your car warranty...lol love it!
Love this film, it holds up really well today too.
Could you maybe cover the room next? Interesting movie 🌚
I thought hobbits had a private school system.
Please do Bone Tomahawk!
