    Bill Rafferty & Ben Powers were very attractive, Robin Williams is dearly missed, and somebody should write a book about Waylan Flowers And Madame.

    This is really very funny. It was the mid-to-late-'70s remake of the legendary Laugh-In, which was a tough act to follow, and the remake was badly received and didn't last long. But what talent it had, including some of Robin Williams' and Cindy Williams' (no relation) earliest appearances, and very funny moments from Frank Sinatra, Flip Wilson, Barry Goldwater and Ralph Nader. Sadly, most of them are no longer with us, and we don't get this kind of humor anymore. Thanks for bringing Laugh-In II back. Rest in peace, cast.

    Laugh-In needs to come back in today’s format, just I wish they could use the resolution as they did then with those cameras! Nothing is more perfect than the way they recorded tv shows back then, today it’s too clean and sharp!

  • @danielwillens5876
    @danielwillens5876 Месяц назад +2

    Right. We've established that the audience is a drag and that some of the material is... reflective of earlier social norms, and it was embarrassing to see the cast come running down the aisle in matching clothes. Can you imagine SNL starting like that? "The Chairman" saved the show. His responses to what were clearly unscripted interactions with the cast were awesome.
    The musical numbers were a bit embarrassing. Comedy loves songs, but songs are not necessarily comedic. The musical numbers in the original were an ironic spoof on the format of the variety show, culminating in the major number of the show, the introduction to the news segment. NEWS AS ENTERTAINMENT WAS THE POINT TO THE SEGMENT. This point was dissipated by the gratuitous ensemble numbers elsewhere.
    Finally, the gay humor came to the fore. The "beefsteak" images of a bodybuilder, along with other gags, suggest that the producers were aware of seismic cultural shifts, but may have been limited by what the networks would allow on prime time.

    Never heard of this remake. One thing it had in common with the original: the hardest-working person was the one behind the laugh button. Yes, I'm aware a studio audience is seen, but what we are hearing, loud convulsive guffaws every 5 seconds, is as fake as 1967 Laugh-In, which I saw new.
