You know why Meryl Streep is a legend and continues to amaze people? It's because of scenes like this. I'm not even talking about her screaming, any actor can take a second to gather themselves and scream bloody murder like that. It's her acting before the scream that makes her so amazing. Think about it, Meryl Streep is one of the most decorated and praised actresses of All-Time. She has won and been nominated for so many awards that I bet she can't remember them all. But it's not the fact that she's Meryl Streep, an A-List Actor who does amazing work. It's because when you see her character's. you don't see Meryl Streep. Like in this scene here, I don't see Mirana from "The Devil Wears Prada," I don't see the lady from "Osage County," the lady from "The Post," the award winning character from "Sophie's Choice," or that crazy lady from "Momma Mia" or that film where she played an old age rockstar who disregards her kids. I dont see any of those characters, I don't even see Meryl Streep. I see an older housewife who has lost her Son and who is losing her mind over the loss. I see a depressed woman who is really losing it.
It one thing for an Actor to play a role convincingly, it's something completely different when that actress makes you forget that she's an Actress who has previous work and makes you actually believe the person on screen that you're seeing is a real person. That's why Meryl Streep is a legend.

Mary Louise's truly attitude is disguised by soften words that she's babbling over but actually her anger and ominous feelings are up to be show abruptly, at any rate if she wants, and her true self when she's on it gonna devour everyone around. I saw a Tumblr post that resonates with me and it goes a little something like this. "Mary Louise already seems to be the sort of mother to turn a blind eye to her son's bad behavior, and therefore Perry turned out to be the man he was." I think this is extremely poignant in the "Me Too" era, and, as much as it is uncomfortable to watch, in flashbacks it is necessary. I actually wonder, also, what happened to his (Perry's) father? Did he contribute to his son's bad behavior? I don't want to blame it all on Mary Louise. What I'm trying to say, essentially, is that maybe she didn't even know she was doing it, at the time.

@@Jordan_Dale Ironically she told her grandkids that fine boys will turn into fine men. The boys have to be well behaved and respectful. Emmy Announcer: And the Emmy goes to... Meryl Streep.
Emmy Production Staff: Wait. She's not one of the nominees.
Emmy Announcer: If you don't give this award to her right now, I'm going to scream. Do you wanna hear it?
Emmy Production Staff: No! OK. Just take it.

I can't wait for the series to reveal how Mary Louise shaped Perry as a person who became abusive and controlling. There is something in her that tell us something.

There is so much in this moment, the scream itself to Mary Louise's anger which is at times primal and other times somewhat meekish. She is unpredictable and frequently volatile--a presense that will damn sure shake the Monterey 5. They're not ready.
Meryl really is coming for that Emmy huh?!
