The shenanigans with removing the vents from the stock assembly is made 400000000000000367X easier with the removal of the old head unit! It just slides out of tabs top and bottom. Save yourself some aggravation and just pop that out before you start removing vents it is super simple! Thank you for a delightful and very easy to follow tutorial! It was excellent 👍
@@Zspeed I got this bad boy put into my daughter’s Camry in about 45 mins total, which included 15 mins of trying to get that accursed antenna wire hooked up. It’s the shortest thing ever. Also I only got 3 vent clips on ad well, so it wasn’t just yours. Once installed it set right up. Mine came with backup camera that I was too old and stiff to run thru the car today 😂 your guide was right on the money, thanks again for taking the time to make a good and thorough video
@@frankblack7070how's the sound quality compared to the factory radio ? Did you replace the speakers as well ?? Does this new radio have an EQ ? Thanks
@@HighVybeTribe it was literally a 1 for 1 swap, my daughter’s college ride so we didn’t get too ambitious 😂 sound quality just as good as the stocker, it works very well and has held up through a pretty hot summer. A regret I have is not installing the external mic for the hands free phone use. The built-in mic is right next to the AC vent, and there is substantial wind noise with the AC on. I’m going to pull it back out this weekend and put the external mic in place and hopefully that cures the problem
I found a 2009 Toyota Matrix fascia plate online that fits the HIKITY 9 inch head unit. It really makes the dashboard nice looking without the homemade look. I did buy flush-mount USB cable and cut a square hole for it. Both USB ports are easily accessible. Also, I installed a 3 pole On-Off-On switch, so I can flip on the reverse camera at any time needed.
Yah. Just finished boxing up the unit to send it back. Lordy what a pain. Practically desteoyed the old bezel getting 2 of the old clips out. The vents? No way to get 3 clips on without grinding some of the material off the new bezel. They gotta do better than that. They need to provide new clips and change the bezel mold so the vents snap in with gosh I dont know, all 4 clips?
Can you check the device with Cpuz to see if the CPU and Android version is not faked by the manufacturer? I bought a 8 core 6g+128g Android 13 one from Hikity and Cpuz tells me it's 4 cores and Android 12.
I have the same unit. When I turn my headlights on, the unit powers off and turns back on. I was thinking about clipping the dimmer wire on the car harness. Have you had the same problem?
Does anyone know where I can get more of those white clips? 3 of mine won’t lock in at all and i think they may be broken. Any one else experience this?
Thanks for your reply . I've been wanting to add a subwoofer and external amplifier, but I'm kind of nervous. I have experience doing this , but having dementia now it's makes for so much user error some times
Having trouble with my unit. Bought a hikity 4gb head unit and an accompanying harness due to my car having the factory JBL amp. But when I hooked it together I got power with no sound
Could you please do a video showcasing the speakers with the unit and just show basic usage of the unit with the carplay because you didnt show it in the video please and thank you

Great video. I would love to see the backup camera installation when you have a chance to do it. Thanks for sharing.

Had the same problem with the vents. Was only able to attach 3
Im just curious do the does any of the wiring ground the unit ?.
It plugs into the factory harness, no external ground noted.
Excelent👌
🏁👍
how's the sound quality compared to the factory radio ? Did you replace the speakers as well ??
Does this new radio have an EQ ? Thanks
Yes it has an EQ, sounds very good compared to the factory radio! Still using the factory speakers 🔊, but will be replacing them in the future!🏁👍
how did you remove the white little rivets at 16:17
I have no idea how to do that
Use a pair of tweezers to squeeze the two small plastic ribs together, then pull up on the plastic tab.
Hello. Thanks for the video. I’ll be using this tutorial. Did this unit have an equalizer to adjust bass, treble etc?
Yes, it has all of that. Thanks so for watching!!!
I put one in today and yes, it does. Quite a range to adjust, honestly. I was surprised. Stock speakers though so it only did so much 🤷♂️
Does it have time alignment too ?? Thanks 🙏 @@frankblack7070

Not sure if that's possible, let me know if it works!
Does the mode button work in the steering wheel?
It should, but this install was on a friend's car 🚗, so I didn't actually try that button!
Did you need any special module or harness or was it plug and play ? Did you ever get the rear view camera installed ?
It came with the correct harness, but I haven't installed the backup camera yet!
Queremos como instalas la cámara 😊
this is not a plug and play , its very hard to connect it to ur car if u do not have wiring skills.
If it's from Hikity, it should come with the correct harness that just plugs into your old harness couplings!
Just curious if this unit can have a Sirius module added to it?
You should be able to add the Sirius App.
I have the same unit. When I turn my headlights on, the unit powers off and turns back on. I was thinking about clipping the dimmer wire on the car harness. Have you had the same problem?
No problems with the unit powering off and on! Are you sure the harness is installed correctly?
What are those two slots located underneath each of the air vents??
They have vent covers for them, but I didn't put them on!🏁👍

Junkyard , Amazon , eBay or local auto parts store
No reverse cam?
Yes, it comes with one!
So the new radio doesn't even screw into the dash ?
So we could just take a screwdriver or panel popper and snatch your radio real quick
Yes, I guess you could!

nice video but... why u did not install the roll vents.. ? looks ugly those holes under the vents...
Your right, I forgot about that!!

Yes!
