Yeah plug in the lighting is a pain, love this little truck Tony I had a blast with mine up at Silverlake Sandune‘s Lake Michigan last weekend with the wheelers backyard crawler Addicts. Just got done last night Friday night I put the steel portal gears in, plus I did get a full set of plastic gears transmission gears Comes with the full set don’t think I worry about gears for a while. But it is so cool super smooth slow crawl hit second gear it’s out of here
I got the same one a week ago, it is pretty sweet. I installed a set of samix weighted wheels with rc4wd super swamper tires(no foam) Now I don't want to get it dirty or scratched Also installed some velcro to ditch the battery strap(fat fingers)
Well that's no fun.. I feel the same when I get something new and perfect.. just got to go get the first scratches out of the way, then you stop worrying about it and start enjoying it 🤙
Solid truck Tony. I picked up the yellow one. FMS has been inching this way for some time. Glad to see this released. Can't wait to see you put this on the course.
I got the yellow one. It is a cool little rig. Do the oil shock mod, it made a big difference on crawlabilty. I also clipped the rear body mounts. The body holds on just fine and much easier to take on and off. Make is some parts for it Big Tony!!!!🤘🤘🤘
The Toyota FJ was better than an scx10 out of the box, but it’s bigger. Just not able to keep up with an upgraded scx24. Not enough shop up parts available
Only thing I discovered putting the steel gears in, the front driver inner portal box has a stripped hole putting it back together One screw just went in and just turns so I’m gonna have to get a hold of FMS
Sounds like a common problem like they overtighten the screws from the factory.. Mine will be here tomorrow and I also ordered the steel portal gears so I'm hoping the screws on mine aren't stripped
Love this little truck! Seems a little big for 24th scale but doesn't bother me. I think this is my 5th fms rig. Fms is good stuff! I like all of mine so far
@@CCxRC that k10 Chevy got my attention then I bought 4 more of their rigs 😂👍 not the best but I love the scale realism. They all look great! You can't deny that 😂
I love this little guy! Very cool Tony. 👍👌 I was wondering: About the light settings? Is it possible when set to 1, they come on with throttle? Anyways really enjoyed this one bro. Thanks for sharing.
One more thing!? I think instead of raising the Trany to straighten out the centre plate? FMS should just add material on both sides of the hump to flatten? Then the screws heads sticking out can be counter-sunk as well? Love to know your thoughts on that?
Hook one side, give a 180 degree twist so that the band crosses at the middle of the battery, then hook opposite side. Easy peasy. Velcro is a bit less fiddly though.
FCX24. More durable. Great servo and motor and esc. Portals. You don’t have dumb stuff happening like the wheel nuts falling off on the scx24 or the servo needing an upgrade or the wheels needing and upgrade or the motor needing to be upgraded after the pathetic tiny little stock motor burns out. I love the SCX24. But the FCX24 is so much better.
I played with 1 today.. I think it sucks, it’s like a cheep knock off axial. Everything on it seems cheep an could use a lot of improvements to match up with the scx24
Comparing it to 1/24 scale cars is really unfair, beacuse it's not 1/24 scale, if it's 1/24 a real life version would be THREE METRES WIDE, which is almost double the width of my irl offroader, it's more like 1/18 or even 1/16. Still an amazing car though technicalities aside, definitely getting one when I can.
This is not a 24th scale! Look it up it's 18th so yea it's bound to have an advantage! People need to stop these videos. Why I bought one. It's deceiving advertising
It was and is billed as 1:24 by FMS. Even SCX24 trucks with Portals are this wide. Change the body and it could be a wide 1:24. Granted, I feel it’s more like 1:18 because of the body scale.
But look at what they call it on their site www.fmshobby.com/products/1-24-power-wagon-fcx24?gclid=Cj0KCQiA_P6dBhD1ARIsAAGI7HDvkOAGBJLN_8rrqgrN3l5seFk31N88y4GzOtKYl9ziJJXUbl-6A4waAlDNEALw_wcB

great review of the fcx24! I am glad you seem to like it. I think i t will force other companies to rethink what they are doing!
I love the rims and tires I think I’m going to keep them on, they did great, appreciate you sharing catch on the next one
I am impressed too. I will be getting one in a couple of days...build a 4x8 track in the basement...time ta CRAWL

Dude so true adding oil to the shocks is a lifechanger
Dude I happen to be awake at 1:30 am and see that he posted and now I’m going to bed. Nice video by the way. I might buy one
Ive been impressed with all of the Fms line. Good video thanks for sharing.

Extra small movement on the trigger for a slower reverse.

Put a single twist in that rubber band and i bet it would hold the battery better
Love this little truck! Seems a little big for 24th scale but doesn't bother me. I think this is my 5th fms rig. Fms is good stuff! I like all of mine so far
I agree. The body size and proportions just seem a bit large.
@@CCxRC that k10 Chevy got my attention then I bought 4 more of their rigs 😂👍 not the best but I love the scale realism. They all look great! You can't deny that 😂
It's 18th scale
Do they have optional metal parts? Like the metal drive shaft, gear, link, knuckle, differential cover etc.
Good stuff Tony! Where did you get the rock crawling platform from?
They are made by Kyosho. You get 5 in a set bit.ly/3wtixtg
It can use some weight in the rear due to rear wheels lifting on decline
Twist battery band to make X over center of battery.
Both back tires on one I bought stopped working in 20 minutes. Hard to crawl with front wheel drive
Very nice ! Where did you buy the crawler course at 15:32 please ?

Whats the unused plug for thats inline with headlights? Adding taillights maybe?
I’d guess that
Do a video comparing it with the K10/Glacier other FMS stuff you have, I bet axles and skid plates and so on are compatible.
It’s way more capable than those. This was built with crawling in mind. It has portal axles and a huge motor compared to the others.
@@CCxRC Thats the point. It's a parts list of upgrades for the others.
It was obvious lol just put a half twist in it so it makes a x. Did yours come with metal portal gears or plastic and were they greased?
I’ve been holding back from fms brand but I’m liking what I see ..btw I commented the latest 4:47est/1:47pst ..anyone top that
Twist the rubber battery strap and makes an X across battery.
Thanks. I did that yesterday and it's still a lame way to do it.
@@CCxRC agree! 👍.....and the body mounting is a PITA!

Ahh. That makes sense. Couldn’t think of it in the moment. I snapped my strap on the Atlas. Not my favorite option
You are the best
FMS IS THE NEW HOT RITE NOW👍👋#V&B SPEED
Helpful vid new sub
Thanks for the sub! Glad to hear it helped
What an awesome looking and performing truck! Hey tony l am trying to buy a mini rc crawler so should l buy an scx24 or a fms fcx24??
If you plan on tinkering and upgrading a scx24 because there are parts galore all ready
If this is your first rig, go with FCX24. You will love it.

Check out my moa fcx24.... posting more videos by this weekend

on the real trails at the hobby shop, it doesn't have the same "finish" as the Axial. It's close, but I still prefer my scx24s
Only one up to comment :D
I commented 45 mins after you do I win for latest at night comment
drives off table.... ok now its a durability test LOL
I do that too often 😂

It’s a Chinese battery strap.. Lol..😂
Don’t buy one . Back two wheels stopped working before end of first battery.

Don’t buy . They break fast
