I am always for new content, but I really am nervous about something like electric weapons. I could see a way to electrify a metal door or beartrap being really cool, but idk how far I would want hunt to go in that direction. For me, Rainbow 6 got progressively worse the more crazy gadgets they added, and I feel for hunt the equivalent would be true as well. I think id rather see them rework current systems in new and creative ways rather than add even more systems on top of the current ones.
Do you think it'd be cool if poison also attracted regular zombies kind of like boomers in L4D or even a Horde fighter with special zombies where 4-8 people have to defend a fort or extraction point while hordes of zombies and just pve things attack you in waves?
As for the environmental destruction, I've been thinking a bit more about the heavy metal crank doors from a gameplay perspective. It's limited to the crank for it to be opened, but I was wondering if maybe big dynamite bundles, or possibly even regular dynamite bundles, could be used to destroy them. It adds the tactic of giving up the chance of a kill with a dynamite for new entrance to a compound that's being held by an enemy team.
No. The best thing about hunt is the realistic (ish) weapons. Old Weapons with slow reloads. I kinda hate the fire shots that set fire.... I don't want less realism and more explosions and lightning everywhere
You said yourself that Rotjaw's electricity probably isn't really electricity, but probably more like corrupted energy... so why couldn't Crytek just make "Corrupted Energy" (name it something else though) weapons/traps/bullets to avoid the steampunky vibe? lul
I could see it being good for consumables and traps. The trap might be the best use case. Have it be cheaper like the poson, and drop a patch of the rotjaw goo. This way, the person who triggered it can't run and hide as easily.
I don’t mind the idea of electric ammo but I’d rather see Hunt lean more into its occult themes. I think the Stalker Beetle was a thematic win in that way, but allowing Hunters more sort of esoteric consumables like that would be cool. You can find out through the lore pages that the shots for instance are all depraved demonic distillates created through human sacrifice and such, that kind of thing that illustrates the black magic parts of the AHA and more clearly shows the kinds of people Hunters are to be at each others’ throats so easily is an area that could be fleshed out a bit more through the mechanics and not just the lore.
custom lobbies have been my personal most requested feature since well before launch. I want nothing more than to plan a hunt night where we all go against each other.
I agree. It would be terrible, and it would make melee charges even less viable than they are currently. It would remove a lot of fun for me if my favourite way to play was so heavily nerfed.
It doesn't just look and sound like electricity coming from Rotjaw. In the event lore the guy making the cage keeps electrically charging it. It IS electricity.
an idea you gave me HomeReel was when you mentioned that the stuff rotjaw does is not electric but more of a dark corruption kinda stuff, why not make bullets like poison ammo but corrupt and make it do something like sap stam or deafen you for a sec or two, maybe even limit your field of view, or crytek could just say no electric ammo, but you can have a electric trap that when triggered releases a puddle of water that get electrified, oh and why dont we have a fire trap yet just saying XD
On the "Too many weapons" part. I think it would be more organized should they take a typical shooter route of selecting a base weapon and then you see all the variants just to keep it organized. Otherwise I couldn't be happier with a large weapon pool. Keeps the game fresh when I can change playstyle and weapon whenever I want to try something different.
Some level on destruction could be achieved in a way, that wooden walls could break down partly such as dropping some planks. This could be made by making different models for walls with varying levels of destruction. These more destroyed walls would replace intact walls when the explosion is resolved. This wouldn't be too hard to create since it kind of bypasses physics elements and works more like how doors break and disappear now.
I want to see more of the goofy home made stuff like the Avto and the Bomblance. I’d love a goofy Tesla cannon type weapon that has to be charged at generators that spawn in certain compounds and shocks you if you enter deep waters. I think the Tonitrus from Bloodborne proves that electric weapons can work without feeling “steampunk”.
Oh thank you for adding my question. I dont think either that they will patch the destruction in the game. I was reminded because in the engine update trailer there where bulletholes with light shining through them. Some premade destructable objects like you said would probably be easier. Maybe some new pathing options or deny some. Like the log you where fighting in that clip. Destroying some "bridges" etc
Someone mentioned it before but more enemy types (maybe new Marked, not just Grunts) who can provide hazards when attacked or killed. EG: an Immolator-type enemy that creates a choke bomb cloud. That might be a way to have the electricity effect without getting steampunky. Just an average enemy that can zap players and/or create an electrical explosion that damages and saps stamina. And who, like Rotjaw, can leave that effect lingering on the water. Might be another type of Stalker Beetle or Hive Jar too. I likewise dig the idea of electrical traps, like fences or gates or surfaces that become stamina drainers if the generator is on. If the next biome is a bit more modern and urban, it could make sense there. Retrofitting that onto the older maps might be a pain in the ass. Lastly, and maybe this will be the case in the engine upgrade, but I've always been a bit let down by how little spotlights come into play. Same with the electric flashlight that no one uses. Being able to dazzle enemy players and create a sort of cover in dark conditions is something I'd like to see happen more. It might have to also work (somehow) in day conditions, and the flashlight should be useable via a hotkey, but it's an untapped aspect of the game imo.
Hunt doesn't need full destructive environments! Just make the boarded up windows in many locations destructible! You can even go further at some compounds like Scupper Lake by making the entire wall under the spirals stairs destructible!
I agree with Fifield, and I like the direction of the universe that they try to keep. Having anything that utilizes some kind of electric damage would likely be delving into completely magical/fantasy properties. It would be a bit off-putting compared to the existing weapons that have some basis in history and reality.
How? The game already has a bomb Lance, with stuff that already wouldn't have existed at the time at all. Electricity is already a real thing and in the game. This would just be adding it as an ammo type
@@UntilChillIncendiary ammo and poison ammo is plausible for the time. Since all it takes is hollowing out a bullet and putting either poisonous material or flammable material. Of course the effects are unrealistic as they happen too quick and exaggerated, but the ammo types were experimented with even before Hunt Showdown takes place. Electric ammo where a gun shoots a lightning bolt doesn't even exist in today's age, well, definitely not in a small arms handheld weapon format at least. That weapon would be futuristic even by today's standards.
Since the new concepts of modern retro weapons will not pass, let's use current gadgets. Like an electric lamp let's add an overload skill that causes a blinding effect but destroys the bulb after 1-2 uses (Can be added to the shotgun but with worse view). Or electric traps with high damage. On a different note, what do you think about adding a slingshot to tools or weapons: like most simple weapons, it could use some interesting types of ammo: regular ammo which would be infinite as it would rather be rocks with low body damage, metal balls with slower speed but more damage especially to the head, blanks (no need to explain) and maybe interaction with some other items
I don't know if I misremember, but isn't it mentioned that Rotjaws Electricity comes from the device brought by the one guy on the Delphine who was from the Ice company? But anyway, I think you could maybe do some interesting interactions with electrical lamps (the one in compounds that you can break). Those could, if the generator is activated and they are already shot down, maybe shock players that are walking underneath.
I came down here to find this idea. Maybe add a wire tool that can be used to link doors to lights, if the generator is on. Then the electricity is bound to the generators, ruling out silly steam punk contraptions.
Idk if it’s be hard to implement, but I would just love custom, private lobbies. Imagine a match where each of the homies spawn into different compounds with normal load outs & the last one alive wins. No bosses, normal timer. Just skillin’ and killin’, ya feel me? I think that’d be fun
A few ammo related ideas that might make more sense than some gimmicky electric ammo: 1. An intermediate cartridge between long and medium like a "magnum" cartridge. 2. More special ammo types and more/all guns having the ability to take 2 ammo types. 3. Rework of FMJ so that it basically makes the cartridge behave exactly like the cartridge above it. Maybe also reduce the cost of the more expensive 2-3 slot Small guns to make them fit more of a budget niche better. (Small FMJ behaves like Medium, Medium FMJ behaves like Long, etc.)
I don't see them ever vaulting weapons but in the future I could see them slowing down significantly on weapon additions. Since you mentioned it, rainbow six also ran into this issue where they stated that most niches were already filled and new weapons started being too similar to old ones so they usually just give new ops old guns which honestly is fair. I will say though, hunt takes place in such a unique time period with such innovative new weapons where I could see it being a while before we hit that point
On the grunt variants affecting loot, a (relatively) simple way to balance that is make it a syringe or dynamite version that doesn't go into inventory and has to be used or dropped ala lanterns or world axes.
I could also see the syringes being like the dropped medkits. Have it be an item dropped on the ground that cannot be picked up, but using it gives you Regeneration. I don't know about the balance of it, but I could see it working in some form.
Regarding vaults, I’ve discussed the idea of these vaults housing really strong burn traits like Remedy, Instinct maybe even Death Cheat. I feel like burn trait are a really interesting mechanic and would love them to stay in the core game system. If you spawn at the boss lair with an extract behind you, maybe the chance to unlock a burn trait would entice you to stay in the game.
I don't know about adding full on destruction to the game. That seems impossible with the current engine so maybe after the engine upgrade. I have always thought it would be cool though as an anti-camping mechanic if you could just burn down buildings.
I agree with the nurse grunt and prospector dynamite grunt not dropping items to take with you, but what about a prospector grunt that is carrying a satchel of dynamite, and if you were to shoot the satchel, it'd blow up, or if you were to shoot the grunt with incendiary ammo. It'd be comparable to a creeper in minecraft, and sort of like a immolator where you can't shoot it.
Parts of the map that can get electrified in certain interactions, like you can put fire on oil. Electric fences on some places that have generators? A shock burst when blowing an electric lamp? Electric trap wire is the most realistic electricity deployable and could ignite oil but not blow barrels (or blow barrels if it's raining opposite to alert trops)
@@The_Pink_HUNTer jesus, 3 maps are more then plenty, why everybody is always bringing this up, the maps are probably the most complex thing they can bring, that's why it takes so long to put out even three
@@maciejbzura9057i can imagine its complex, and the maps are great... i dont think 3 maps are "plenty". i don't think there are too less either. but a new map would be fu##ing great!! if everybody bringing this up shows we would like to have a new map...🤷
The grunt drops be treated like world items where you can't put them into your inventory. I could see that happening. It would be a fun touch, but i'm not sure it would have any meaningful impact on the game.
I would love to pick up the torches or the poisoned bone saw. I thought I would be able to on an update long ago, but I had misinterpreted the patch notes and was terribly disappointed.
they could add a distortion bomb that leaves a distorted energy field that does a bit of damage and sucks away your stamina like rotjaw does and put in lore like someone examined the matter rotjaw leaves behind and invented a bomb out of it like the hive bomb.
Im so glad you know of the Metro series, they all share a spot in my top 3 games, and the book series is my number 1 favorite book series. If any of you out there haven't read the books, I highly highly recommend them.
Random trio comms improvements are a must-have! Scheduling Hunt time with steam friends can be a headache, so it's critical that randoms is a workable alternative. But the game has, since launch, disincentivized coordinated and consistent random play, particularly with how voip works in-game. Randoms are at such a disadvantage that as often as not, I just treat random teammates like NPCs and hope for the best lol!
The concept of a vault is... interesting. The main issue is that monetarily it works function identically to extracting with a bounty, so it would be redundant. High value equipment that isn't contraband could be very interesting, and give a point of interest that doesn't light you up on the map. Could be nice for solos and could give more options than just cashing in Hunt dollars. (But you could still sell if you wanted)
I'm so stoked for the new map with new biomes! I was trying to think through the negative and positive affects of tweaking some terrain to make it a little more dangerous like thorny bushes, bubbling noxious ponds that make you choke, mud that slightly slows similar to deep water, hell even trees that attack you like the whomping willow, etc., but it seem like it may just make the game more annoying. Thus, I propose utility wildlife like buzzards that spawn and circle the air above dead hunters a short time after the whole party has died or some of the stands of crows swoop at you if they feel threatened instead of startled. snakes could actually provide lots of utility. use them as a deployable trap that attacks and briefly poisons any player (including the original handler) if they get too close in a very small area. It would be absolutely sinister to release an aggressive snake into a building, behind or in front of a door, at the top of a ladder, in a body of water or a high grass field. What if there was a "weather condition" of sorts where roaming swarms of hive insects force players to suffer outside or seek shelter until they pass after a short while. These swarms could look like a dark haze at a distance, and could come with a 5-10 second warning of a buzzing sound that grows in intensity until they swarm upon your area.
8:04 - on this matter of "vaulting" weapons away, it would probably make sense to look to how CCG/TCGs do this (google "magic tcg formats" for more details), although the tricky part is that any time you use multiple game formats, you split the player base into different matchmaking queues... and hunt doesn't have the biggest playerbase to split. It would feel tough to split things beyond the existing DUOS / TRIOS / SOUL SURVIVOR split we have currently. That being said... perhaps one could test the idea of using the WILDCARD contract to actually restrict equipment. Maybe that looks like "cannot bring long ammo weapons" or "single slot weapons only" or "hunting bow only" or "single small slot weapon only" ... I'm not particularly attached to any of these examples, just trying to get the ball rolling. Do you think something like this could be interesting, @HomeReel?
Beanbag shells for the shotguns, that immediately knocks all stamina out of whoever is hit, does like 25 damage to a good distance, has a chance to fly off course like a more accurate waxed frag ball, and inflicts the same movement debuff as multiple jumps but for eight seconds
Speaking of weak flooring. Hear me out… Winter, snow, cold… frozen lakes. Most/all the water is frozen over. But some ice is thinner. Making cracking noises when you move over it, and breaking when you run over it. Likely taking damage and losing stamina from the freezing water.
electrifying in-game objects looks to be the most practical thing without crossing into steampunk or other scifi genres. bring some cables in a tool slot to hook up to crank doors, iron doors, or gates to a compound with a generator would result in some interesting gameplay. of course the game still relies on your sense of hearing, a crackling sound effect can be used to signify a trapped door
I can see there being a sort of Tesla Tripwire, which not only saps stamina, but also prevents sprinting for a short time. But yeah, feels more like an artifact from Hunt: The Golden Age, back when H:S was envisioned as a co-op pvp similar to Vermintide or Aliens: Fireteam Elite.
Weighing in on the grunts-topic: I‘d love to be able to pick up a random bullet (small/medium/large) from pistol grunts if you take them out before they are able to hit you. More often then not I don‘t even notice them, but with the ammo resupply changes that might be a cool additional feature
I actually had an idea for a fun little grunt like the second question, a gambler or trickshooter grunt in Desalle that tries to shoot you with a derringer. It seems silly but those guys carry around lit torches all day, they've gotta have some coordination right? It's not like it could kill you, but it'd really blow up your spot to other players, and getting a free derringer once in a while might encourage people to actually use the thing.
In my humble opinion the best way to realise this untapped potential of electric / dark energy ammo type would be to: a) As suggested make it drain stamina b) Make it block out Dark Sight by adding extra flashes to the point where it becomes rather disorientating rather than helpful in a fight. Also it would be nice if that effect denied the beneficial properties of perks like Vigilat, Poison Sense and Vigor. This denial of Dark Sight would also play into future events where perks like Instinct could make a return. Imagine getting hit by a sort of EMP / Lightning in a jar type of deal (Low / no DMG wide AOE grenade ) and lose access to Dark Sight for lets say 2 minutes. And yes as I am typing this out I realize that assaulting bounty compounds would become loads easier so to balance against spam EMP it should have a positive effect like giving everyone in the affected area a stamina boost for the duration of the negative effects. Just my 2c on the topic. Edit: To clarify, ammo would drain stamina and deny use of Dark Sight and EMP grenade / Lightning in a bottle would deny use of Dark Sight but give stamina boost.
On the electric ammo part, I think it depends on the type. If you are make a weapon with electricity it would have to be a weapon like a bolt or arrow with battery on it. For equipment it's just as easy as tying a battery to a rope that has a larger AOE in water.
YES! Hunt should add an electric ammo type. I think the only effect should be an aim punch (shock) that lasts maybe a second or two, similar to what Rotjaw does, minus the stamina drain. If there is a stamina drain, I think it should be minimal. To me that's powerful enough.
I've also said they should add electricity, and have things like live wires dangling across doorways, in puddles and across metal surfaces that are active when the ol" Ronsberry generator is running, giving you an actual reason to kick one on
Well not sure about electric ammo, but maybe something to make Rotjaw's specialty available to Hunters. Like a Frag grenade, that doesn't do a full 150 Damage, maybe just 25 to 50, while immediately sapping away all the Stamina of Hunters in the blast radius and/or it spreads out those small puddles over an area wider than a normal frag's radius but smaller than Rotjaw's transition attack. And then maybe a kind of trip mine that basically does the same in a way smaller radius and only one puddle, which however would then stay longer (possibly with a more intense visual effect) and deal a slightly higher amount of tick-damage than we are used to from RJ. Lastly, maybe not electric bullets, but perhaps "Rotsplosion"-bolts (Low damage, creates a puddle or three, non-retrievable) or "Sap"-arrows (normal-ish damage, stamina drain, NO puddle and NO bleeding, retrievable). Also, Home (most entertaining Hunt-CC I know), you can't run from my trait-question forever! (Well you can, noone can force ya...but I would be a very, very, very happy little shovel swinging ice monster if someday you'd answer/react to it ^^)
What you said about content creation, I felt that. I too wanted to make my hobby a job by studying music. That quickly drained the fun out of making music. So I went and studied something else and I'm much better off
How about a slingshot or throwing hammer as a tool, dealing blund damage, so you could also kill immolator with it, but dealing less damage compared to throwing knive or ax.
Ever since we saw the throwing axe I've had a throwing hammer on my mind. We got the Railroad Hammer to go alongside the Combat Axe, I could see throwing hammers added to go along with the throwing axes.
Hey Mr. Home, thanks for doing what you do. The content creator stuff was real but in a good way, I hope you continue to find joy in it and find a balance for it in your life for years to come. Gotta have Home vids for my lunch breaks! ❤
The one thing I want is more control over the environment. A perfect example was the event trait that sort of let you set traps by luring AI into compounds. It made me think of Halflife 2. Where you had control over the aliens for a few levels. Having a tool, consumable, or special ammo that actually attracted AI to it (or repelled it) would be fun. To me.
@@austinfreeman7871 Or. Just hear me out. A beetle that can make a sound that pulls AI towards it as it flies. And while under your control, and kill the AIs get goes to you. Personally, I think it would be REALLY fun to see a giant mob of grunts rushing the building. Worst case scenario is you're already low health, and darnit, they got you. But most of the time I think it would be a pretty decent distraction tool that forces another team to give away their position or have to use some tools or consumables they were hoping to save. It would be even cooler if when the beetle dies, it has a small explosion that marks targets so the AI prioritizes them over anyone else. If they gave it that, you COULD use it as an actual "weapon" of sorts.
One of questions that interests me is when new achievements would be added. We have new map and no achievement for run through all locations like other two maps have, for star count in trials, prestige level, etc. So many possibilities to create new content but still there no movement in that direction
Honestly probably not likely, cause a well aimed bolt to the chest alone one shots so making it shoot multiple would make it more stronger than the avto. Ik comparing a rifle and a handcross bow is not exactly ideal but you get the idea plus anything that shoots multiple times but is more accurate than a avto is not a good idea. Don't get me wrong though I'd love a dishonored inspired handcross bow❤❤
@ieajackson5518 A very silent pistol with dum dum that still let's you pull the dart and get your ammo back. It's a bit of overlap, but the Caldwell Pax, Caldwell Conversion, Nagant, Nagant Officer already overlap. It would be a small overlap link between pistols and the hand crossbow. But still distinct enough
I'm not worried about there being too many new guns added to hunt, that's a good thing. More weapons means more variety. Just think the volcanic pistol that could be another medium slot that benefits from iron repeater and/or levering
Maybe not an ammo type, but a stationary trap, a grenade or a stand-alone weapon could be quite cool. The bomblance is a fantasy weapon after all, and I think the only one.
What about if there are too many weapons Crytek could do it like this: They could have two weapon sets, one with all the weapons in the normal time. And then another set where the weapons get split up into maybe a weekly rotation during events. The events stick around for about 6-8 weeks currently therefore you could easily switch weekly weapons. That would also bring in the additional point that players would maybe need to play weapons they usually don't play, e.g. they have to play the Uppermat because the Uppercut is currently not available. I think you get my point. But currently I think Hunt has a good variety of weapons therefore I don't think they're in need of putting some in a vault.
idk if id want electric ammo, cuz getting tagged once and suddenly being slowed or sapped of stamina sounds kinda annoying. Being able to throw a jar of rotjaw juice that creates a stamina trap sounds interesting tho. I get the feeling such things should be useful in area denial, and maybe it could have fun interactions. Maybe it pauses the banishment timer or improves boss damage and health so you can sabotage hunters fighting the bounty target by running in and beaning the boss with it. Maybe if you throw it on a downed hunter they become unable to be revived until the effect is cleared to counter necromancer
I really enjoy your videos. I can tell its something you're actually passionate about and you're not some youtube content robot. I appreciate you keep doin what you doin fam.
Flash traps would be cool. Flash bolts would be cool. "Dark Energy" charged melee weapons would be cool. "Dark Energy ammo" would be cool. And I think sapping stamina would be pretty useless unless the "Dark Energy" slowed or stunned characters. Just imagine getting shot and your character getting brought to a complete stop for a half second.
I’d love to see a video about Chainsaw Massacre, I think it’s a game that exceeded most people’s expectations. The developers went above and beyond for a game based on a 70’s movie.
Exceeded? It's still goofy as hell movements. They could've made a better physics system on the characters like Uncharted and The Last of us movements.😢
I like the idea for some limited implementation of "electric" weapons (even if the in-universe explanation is like, it's evil energy or whatever), but I'm kind of on the same page about not wanting anything *too* steampunk-y. So if it fit in the lore, sure, having some kind of ammo type that saps stamina could be interesting. It's worse than most of the other damage dealing special ammo, so maybe it could be balanced to have a slower velocity, and a bit more damage drop off, but still have normal penetration-gives it a niche between fire and bleeding in that it's still good through soft cover, but doesn't displace FMJ or spitzer for long range, without being a straight upgrade. So in compound fights it's just...normal ammo basically, ranged fights with cover have it worse off than normal, but it gets an edge on hitting running targets and pinning people down. Or maybe some kind of throwable-like a flashbomb but the lightbulb is broken with little wires running out of it. Rather than blind, it stops people from meleeing for three seconds or whatever. You're still screwed if you use it to push a shotgun, and you can still get shot in the face, but it could be handy pushing a bayonet or someone camping a corner with an axe. I'm not a dev though, so maybe that's incredibly broken. Or you could overload the generators to have electricity arc out of the lights to nearby targets-gives generators more of a use, and could be a interesting risk/reward trade off-they know where you are by the sound, but you have a chance of revealing their general position as well. I don't know if I could see a full-on electric weapon though. That leans a little too far into the steampunk thing, and I don't even know how it would work. Like would it be some kind of...laser or something? That just feels goofy in hunts setting. I would also like a bit more destruction. Nothing like siege-that would totally change the game, and is also just entirely unrealistic. But plank walkways, or patched up bits of wall or roof could be really fun, even if they're relatively uncommon. Pre-set places where you can make new entrances could be great. It *is* similar to the barred doors, but I think it's different enough in that it's going from a no-way to all-way route, rather than a resealable one-way to all-way route.
Hunt would suck with destruction, not only because FPS issues with it (that would surely happen) also people already use small cracks in walls and windows to wallbang... now add bulletholes you can create to do the same, this adds even more locations rather than the current system where windows and doors are obvious wallbang spots pushing to compounds is hard enough as is (creating holes would be more beneficial to the people on the inside because the inside is dark until you have run out of ammo creating enough of those holes)
I think Rotjaws AoE status effect IS electricity. In the event lore they've mentioned that the passengers of the Delphine tried to trap Rotjaw in an electric cage.
Making an appearance in the comments to say yes pls to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre content! also watching these Q&As always makes me wanna play some matches later so looks like I gotta pay mr bayou a visit soon
I don’t like electric type weapons or ammunition type. I don’t like the steampunk vibe. But I am open to traps, throwable, and melee with a similar effect that rokjaw has. I feel that’s enough for some more variety without making it steampunk like. Keep up the good work homereels!
so while I believe a "vault" as an extra objective wouldn't work in hunt, a special bounty that drops you a random weapon (or something similar) when you extract with it could be a cool idea maybe for the wild target bounty since those only drop one token? idk, just a random though
I think that if they introduced it a lot later in the games lifespan it would be huge and at that point I think it would allow for the gun design to be more fantastical to allow for variants of guns to be augmented to shoot electricity, would be more unrealistic but maybe would be low damage with ability to sap stamina from a running target
I think an electric melee weapon would be cool. Maybe even an electric special weapon, give it very very limited shots but the ability to revive people from a distance if hit?
I believe this would work best as a throwable as it would emobilize opponents for a few moments and taking just 10 damage. So your choice could be taking those or a flash bomb. If hunters are in water, damage could potentially kill.
#1 of all changes needs to be adding more pings to traps. I only play solo now because I'm sick of being abused by randoms when they die to my traps, even though I ping multiple times and verbally warn them. I can't be bothered babysitting randoms. Funny, cos I've played 3,000 hrs and never once died to my team mates traps, so I know it's not my fault. Electric ammo might be interesting. It could knock enemies over for a brief moment, like the revive animation. Electric traps would be pretty fun in a combo with concertina traps. Definitely need more grunt variations. They just irritate me at this point and can easily be circumvented by experienced players. I'd like to see some kind of "blood ammo" where you can hit an enemy and all the grunts in the area start chasing that person, like the poison with meatheads. Destructable walls and fences might be ok to a certain point. I like the idea of shotguns leaving a gaping hole, but not entire wall destruction. Thanks for being honest about being a content creator. I'd love to start an art channel with my kids, but worry about the unforeseen negative impact it may have on them and myself. I make a good wage already, so it would really be just for fun.
What do u think of a change that hide ur Ammo thats left in the Gun. Hold the Reload to get a short animation like a weapon inspection. Open the chamber of a pistol and then the game tells u how many shots are left. Increasing the value of a skin when u see the gun more often what increases the earnings for crytek. And increase the funny moments when a player wants to shot u and u here the "click" of an empty gun.
Not a fan of the idea. Maybe for traps, but as ammo it would be pure steampunk, not wild weird west anymore (tbf we're already almost there, but electric shots would cross that level 😅). Just my two cents.
An electric bomb that has a distinctive sound while you wind it up to charge that damages+saps stamina would be cool. Letting it defib downed teammates on a full charge (4 sec or so) would be a great and unique bonus to spice up gameplay.
I don’t think so. It would *SEVERELY* damage melee attacks, which for me are the most fun and most consistent weapons to use. I wouldn’t like something that would reduce the already limited viability further.
What about a throwable shock device (*insert lore name here*), that you can throw onto a zombie and they become electrified? If the zombie is meleed or melees a hunter, the hunter would get their stamina sapped. It would be a great bounty liar defense mechanic as approaching enemy hunters may need to take them out. If they don’t have a silenced gun, it will expose them and leave them without stamina. I’d call it like clue shard or rotjaw fragment
A dynamite grunt, but not for a consumable drop. Have a grunt with a dynamite satchel. If he gets hit in the satchel or gets hit/touched with fire...big bada boom.
It would be cool if you could collect parts and scrap while hunting, and once you had enough of the correct materials, you could build custom guns in the lobby.
Honestly I was against it but I love your ideas in regards to electricity. Stamina Zapping might be a cool gimmick, but I love the idea of special ammo that chains to nearby opponents. This vould be a really cool way to counter teams rushing a solo or that are too grouped up. Could also make it so that it can also chain from metal to incoperate the Environment more. I also think that it can fit in very well as a special ammo since those aren't very realistic in the first place. And a electricity weapon as a oneoff in a similar style as the bomblance that maybe aplifies the chain effect (For example, I think it would be cool if eleteic ammo could chain but dealed far less damage to secondary targets, but can headshot, while the deeicated electric weapon maybe deals the same ammount to everone but cant headshot). You could make it a electric beam, or a projectile that chains after a small delay. Maybe it should also slow for a second or so, this sounds really evil...
I don't want electric ammo but I do think a consumable like a "jar of gator goo" or something would be a cool addition. It could be used a a zoning tool like default fire bombs but have different gameplay applications.
I think rotjaw goo in a bottle, as a throwable item, wich leaves a puddle on the ground for a short time would be cool countermesure against rushing enemyes with shotgun/bomblance.
How about a new trap that worked something like German teller mine but it would a spring loaded trap that could throw out flechet at waste height. It would deal low damage but would also have an AOE (range of say 8m-10m) that caused bleed to near by hunters. This could be an interesting mix up with setting traps in open fields when being chase or for setting up ambushes!
i think a new ai called screamer can be a good addition , this ai doesnt do damage directly but if you get close enough it will cream with the top of its lungs , scream will blur hunters vision and will shake their hands if you get very close it will also damage the hunters , range can be like 2-3 meters , also if you cant kill him silenty it will reveal your locaiton.
Watching this beginning of the video gave me the idea of like being able to summon a lightning strike (maybe only having bounty) it’s super out of the box for hunt but idk it doesn’t seem like that much of a stretch. Maybe like it does 100 damage max. Not able to do it from too far away. I think supernatural abilities is right up hunts alley considering necromancer and other dark sight perks
3:20 Wow nurse (doctor) zombies that drop vitality shots (med kit) what an original idea. I totally enjoyed the game more after Crytek had an edge lord phase of adding all of the most annoying Ai variants they could think of off the top of their head while increasing spawn rates. I'm just begging for them to do it again; it definitely didn't clog the flow of the game when they did it the first time.
How about I turning on the generators added some extra environmental dangers to a compound? The downside is it makes a lot of noise so you can't hear people coming? It could also be there are multiple generator at each compound that only work in a section of that compound? I'd love a fallen hunter grunt. One that retails some of its human like abilities. It uses guns, moves to cover, but is not at all as competent as an actual player.
I dont think too many weapons is gonna be an issue since i dont think every weapon needs to be strong in their niche. I love the Uppermat and the LeMat Carbine for example, both weapons are outclasses in their category but that matters little to me as long as i like how they feel and look.
Let me know your thoughts on today's questions and subscribe for future opportunities to ask something
As for the environmental destruction, I've been thinking a bit more about the heavy metal crank
doors from a gameplay perspective.
You said yourself that Rotjaw's electricity probably isn't really electricity, but probably more like corrupted energy... so why couldn't Crytek just make "Corrupted Energy" (name it something else though) weapons/traps/bullets to avoid the steampunky vibe? lul
Harvested rotjaw fluid would be cool if it was added in as a jar, crossbow bolt and traps. As an ammo type I don't see much use for it.
I could see it being good for consumables and traps. The trap might be the best use case. Have it be cheaper like the poson, and drop a patch of the rotjaw goo.
This way, the person who triggered it can't run and hide as easily.
Yeah exactly, just put it on the Hive Bomb unlock tree, and throwing it creates a big pool of the Rotjaw corrupt-lightning effect!
Think how disruptive that would be if you threw it into the middle of a boss lair while someone was fighting the assassin.@@Smeelio
@@HuntShowdownLab Ahh yes running into a trap and you run and hide, very annoying when your trap does not one shot or they get out of it.
Cringe.
if i get hit with an electric hand crossbow bolt im uninstalling.
I agree 100%! They shy away from the more occult aspects of the game. Dip a toe into some voodoo style effect or more mystical items.
I've been saying they need actual magic for awhile, like something that takes up a weapon slot for like, "Fireball" essentially
custom lobbies have been my personal most requested feature since well before launch. I want nothing more than to plan a hunt night where we all go against each other.
The idea of an electric shot that saps stamina sounds more like a nuisance than anything, and i'd much, much rather it not be included in the game.
A Stamina shot negates the stamina sapping effect just like antidote does for poison so I could see it being added
We all know if it was to happen, gotta be a hndcrossbow bolt 🎉
I agree. It would be terrible, and it would make melee charges even less viable than they are currently. It would remove a lot of fun for me if my favourite way to play was so heavily nerfed.
Not a fan either.
That sounds like an awesome idea
It doesn't just look and sound like electricity coming from Rotjaw. In the event lore the guy making the cage keeps electrically charging it. It IS electricity.
The reason you can't pick up the pistol grunt pistol is because it's bent and broken, but the hammer still works so when he smacks you it goes off
Would still be cool as a decoy
weapon unlocked: explosive pistol whip/throwing pistol
would be nice
Yes, but on a melee shocker baton.
To make the enemy's second strike useless
an idea you gave me HomeReel was when you mentioned that the stuff rotjaw does is not electric but more of a dark corruption kinda stuff, why not make bullets like poison ammo but corrupt and make it do something like sap stam or deafen you for a sec or two, maybe even limit your field of view, or crytek could just say no electric ammo, but you can have a electric trap that when triggered releases a puddle of water that get electrified, oh and why dont we have a fire trap yet just saying XD
I think it would be pretty nifty to restock ammo for electric ammo you do it at the generators around the map.
Oh hell yeah. That’s an awesome twist. Gotta go where the electricity is to use the ammo
@@UntilChill Right, but a bomb lance could have been plausible in the time period. Electric “ammo” is just nonsensical
@@heartsgang2457 so is fire ammo. That isn't plausible for the time. Or poison ammo.
It was a more cozy vídeo than usual, really enjoyed
Maybe more animal based grunts as we only have the hellhounds so far. Maybe infected crows...?
Crows that instead of flying away, are zombie crows and fly at you, pecking you for rending damage. That would be a great jump scare!
Problem is the game takes place in the South East. Not too many big animals there to mess you up other than Crocs.
Hunt Showdown already has electricity in the game via Generators and lights. Would be interesting to recharge special weapons via generators
I love using environmental gameplay. More of this would be nice.
A few ammo related ideas that might make more sense than some gimmicky electric ammo:
I want beartraps you can bring into the match. Just make em slightly less visible and i think they would fit into the game really well.
I don't know about the balance of it, but I could see it working in some form.
i would rather not inject myself with a syringe found on a living corpse, lol
No mines on Lawson and Stillwater means no miner grunts 😁 same with the prison guards that only show up around prisons
Someone keeps digging holes under the compounds though 👀 Salters Pork got a tunnel with no miners??
@@HomeReelGroundhogs. Zombie groundhogs.
Stillwater bend is a quarry for tombstones
I think it's high time we already got some new AI enemies. Like, completely new ones, come on Crytek
new map!😎
Hear me out…
Winter, snow, cold… frozen lakes.
Shock bolts, shock traps, shock beetles etc.
In my humble opinion the best way to realise this untapped potential of electric / dark energy ammo type would be to:
a) As suggested make it drain stamina
b) Make it block out Dark Sight by adding extra flashes to the point where it becomes rather disorientating rather than helpful in a fight.
(Well you can, noone can force ya...but I would be a very, very, very happy little shovel swinging ice monster if someday you'd answer/react to it ^^)
Love a texas chainsaw video! Been having a lot of fun with it. Would love if you could interview the devs
Conduit and stam shots are pretty common so it’s whole niche could be completely obsolete in a lot of fights.
True, same with poison ammo and antidote shots though. So it's not far out
The one thing I want is more control over the environment. A perfect example was the event trait that sort of let you set traps by luring AI into compounds.
It made me think of Halflife 2. Where you had control over the aliens for a few levels. Having a tool, consumable, or special ammo that actually attracted AI to it (or repelled it) would be fun. To me.
I was thinking maybe like a stink bomb(similar to hive bombs) that draws mobs in a small area to that location.
Simply put: No. some people already hated the addition of just special ammo. But I would LOVE to see destructible objects akin to og Battlefield.
One of questions that interests me is when new achievements would be added. We have new map and no achievement for run through all locations like other two maps have, for star count in trials, prestige level, etc. So many possibilities to create new content but still there no movement in that direction
Ammo similar to poison but with Rotjaw fluid it shocks you and throws your aim/sway temporarily like a choke bomb.
What are your thoughts on crossbow variants? Maybe a multi fire hand crossbow like the one from Dishonored 2?
Honestly probably not likely, cause a well aimed bolt to the chest alone one shots so making it shoot multiple would make it more stronger than the avto. Ik comparing a rifle and a handcross bow is not exactly ideal but you get the idea plus anything that shoots multiple times but is more accurate than a avto is not a good idea.
Don't get me wrong though I'd love a dishonored inspired handcross bow❤❤
@@denexki I could see it being like a smaller dart. Do light bleeding and much less damage. But get 3 or 4 shots to a reload. Also lower range.
@@IamtheTolleso… a pistol with dum dum?
What about if there are too many weapons Crytek could do it like this:
They could have two weapon sets, one with all the weapons in the normal time.
Finally, there you go! Thx for reading my comment
Hunt would suck with destruction, not only because FPS issues with it (that would surely happen) also people already use small cracks in walls and windows to wallbang... now add bulletholes you can create to do the same, this adds even more locations rather than the current system where windows and doors are obvious wallbang spots
pushing to compounds is hard enough as is (creating holes would be more beneficial to the people on the inside because the inside is dark until you have run out of ammo creating enough of those holes)
A heavy bottle of rotjaw goop (like lobbing that big boom bundle) that spreads slightly further than a firebomb would be awesome to see ingame.
Keep up the good work homereels!
so while I believe a "vault" as an extra objective wouldn't work in hunt, a special bounty that drops you a random weapon (or something similar) when you extract with it could be a cool idea
maybe for the wild target bounty since those only drop one token?
idk, just a random though
If hunters are in water, damage could potentially kill.
a large variety of weapons will make it more fun and gameplay more diverse i feel
Great vid Home!
I was saying that the effect from Rotjaw would be great for a hand crossbow bolt type.
